Crap! My Email Has Been Hacked AGAIN!

After only a week or so after my email address was hacked into, it's been hacked into again! And before you say it.....I DO have computer protection means.....the anti-virus scans malware, spyware scans,...blah, blah, blah......so don't accuse me that I haven't been protected even though having a Mac computer and don't have the same concerns PC users have. And before you say it YES YES YES I've changed my password, so obviously that's NOT helping. It is more that my email has been picked up again and nothing to do with my password.....since NONE of my other accounts have been affected. So what the hell is going on????? Many MORE of my friends are complaining about this no matter WHAT email type they are using...Yahoo, AOL, Gmail, etc. The only reason I found out I was checking my email just now before going to bed and found those MAILER-DAEMON things.....and here is a copy of the message: Dear sir/Madame, It is our honor to introduce our company to you. We're an export company specilized in many brand new electronics. We offer you the best price and quality, prompt delivery and satisfactory after-sale services.Pls feel free to contact us if you are interested in any of our items. web:www.wsswcp.com MSN: wsswcp-01@hotmail.com E-mail: wsswcp@188.com SO PLEASE...YOU WHO ARE MY FRIENDS KNOW I'M A WRITER------would I spell specilized like that? Also being on disability benefits would I suggest buying at any company..let alone "our company"--since when do I have a company???--JUST NOT like me to promote anything. So once again....what the hell is going on????????? Any clues??????? This is getting ridiculous

Oh sorry, I think I misunderstood you. So somebody hacked into your account and used it for spamming purposes? Okay, first thing I'll do, fire up task manager, check if you've got something like "key logger" or something like that. I use key loggers and I know some free key loggers which will show up in the task manager. If you can't see one, run a virus scan. You don't know what will show up. Try this, if it doesn't work, I have a secret weapon which will sort of reveal the stupid hacker (might be your dog).

Check your Activity Monitor. It's basically the same as Task Manager for Windows.

I did receive one exactly the same as you send here few minutes ago. I knew your email once again being targeted by these hackers. I don't know how they managed to penetrate your email addy since you have changed your password etc....I am just as surprised as anyone here. These hackers are terrorizing others emails and it is no longer safe when these cyberworld terrorists began their attacks. I really have no clues at all but I think you need to cancel your account and open a new account with different username.

The real problem is that my email is a PAID account..I opted this to have more storage....I have scores of "folders" with a lot of vital info stored...it would take me a year and a day to literally transfer that info somewhere else since I've had this email addy long before I even had my own computer, so figure about seven years-it's also connected and linked with my DSL service--I only recently celebrated an issue with my DSL service which overcharged me.....they are royal pains in the azz to deal with.......to change anything could jeopardize a lot and make things worse

It's probable that someone in your household or your school or whatever has installed a keylogger. That's why even if you change your password they can easily know your new one.

I wonder if there is a website that you are a part of, that may be part to this. It is crazy that you have to keep going through this. I hope it stops soon.

I wish I could offer you some help hun, but I haven't a clue how they are getting into your email. All I can think of is reporting the ISP to your mailing company and see if they can back track from there

Hi Pye! I am on your contact list because I got that email from you twice ... once last week and once today about buying some reduced priced products. I just deleted them and I didn't think they were actually from you as I had seen you post about your account being hacked before.

I have to say this is getting ridiculous as you say--- I've had two sites sending me mails in the last two weeks but have marked them as spam but nothing like what you are going thru. Have you opened up this site?? If you do, look in tools and there should smart screen filter and it should open up into words that say unsafe website or check this site--- I have done this but the sites still keep coming. Seriously you need a professional to help you cuz you are being hacked and scammed to is my guess. I honestly do not know what to tell you to do. I don't know what I 'd do !! Let us all know in case we get into the same problems.

I am feeling left out. I am on your e mail list, I thought, and I have not received anything from you. Or my filters detect it, which is more likely the case. In which case it has gone to my spam or trash without me ever seeing it. I do not even remember how I set them up, it has been so long ago.

While I do have Yahoo IM too I never use any IM thing. Used to annoy me that every time I got a new email it would "ping" to let me know, same when someone was on line and wanted to chat and at the most inconvenient times when I'd be working on photos or something...so just turned it off and never used again

There is a lot of this going on on facebook. one of my guy friends sent me like 15 messages one day that showed up in my e-mail. I was curious but thankfully too busy to bother to open them just yet. He never sends me messages on facebook so why so many now? I still can't believe that my curiosity did not get the best of me. His wife who is my bestest friend stopped in my work that night and warned me about her husbands e-mail and not to open it. It was a viris that would attact your whole ststem. hope that is not what you got. don't open any facebook messages thru your e-mail. they look real but they really are not from your friends. When I signed into facebook, this guy did not really send me any messages.

There was a story about that last week how supposedly one would get an email from Facebook to reset your password and it included an attachment that of course once opened downloaded a virus

So, that's why I got that email from you um, lets see, Dec3rd/09. It was from your Yahoo account. Saying that you bought a laptop, I'll copy it here for you: How are you recently? I bought a laptop from a website: www.enjoyele.com last week. I have got the product. Its quality is very good and the price is competitive. They also sell phones, TV, psp, motor and so on. By the way, they import product from Korea and sell new and original products. They have good reputation and have many good feedbacks. If you need these products, look at this website will be a clever choice. I am sure you will get many surprise and benefits. you can contact they, Email:enjoyele@hotmail.com Greetings! I thought it was a bit strange, now I know why!

I'm pretty sure that both emails I got from Pye were the email that she put in the discussion about going to the website and purchasing specialized low priced products BUT I must say that the message you got from her does look familiar. Maybe I got 3 total then. I thought it was just 2! Hmmmmmmmm! Now you've got me thinking! LoL!

Yeah that Dec one was the first one that was sent out using my email address. I tracked the IP address for those bogus emails btw...they all originate in China! Now wonder the grammar and/or spelling is poor. Also anyone who knows me knows like with that laptop deal I would never have bought one, since most people know I just plain wouldn't have the money for one

You are kidding? AGAIN!! I wonder if they have a different way of getting in besides going by way of password. You wouldn't think they would. And there probably isn't any way of back tracking to the person sending that note either. It is just getting too easy. Is this person the one that sent me a note about their business yesterday? It was from the wsswcp site. Hmmm??!! (PM me and I will send you a copy if you want it)

LOL--I already have copies of that latest bogus email. It's not only me though, I'm hearing this kind of thing is getting so common and a lot of my friends email addresses have been compromised--I have heard one can lift email addresses from forwards. Especially when people send them out without deleting all the contact info that's listed...who knows how many times that forward has circulated and who has seen it, right?

Ya, I have done some great detective work using forwarded emails. And some of the groups of emails seem miles long. You get some great referral lists and such from some of them. Hahaha?

Come on, you are receiving spam messages, which does not mean that your account has been hacked. I receive spam messages everyday, but I just ignore them. Just mark it as spam. Even if you change your password one billion times, you can't prevent spam from coming to your e-mail. Accept the truth that the more you're exposed to the internet, the more likely to receive spam. Just don't sign up for online services crazily. You can create an e-mail specialised to receive spam and you can use that address to sign up for stuff.

Yes on occasion I receive spam email and just delete them.....what I'm talking about is spam email IN MY EMAIL address and received by all my contacts and of course I didn't send them. A whole different thing entirely. Do you understand now? Maybe you should read my former discussion about this issue which is here http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2276049.aspx

That's terrible Pye. I didn't get the email yet, but will watch for it. The US Dept of Homeland Security has a link for citizens to guard their online security. Perhaps there's information there that would help you. The INFORMATION ONLY link is: http://www.onguardonline.gov/default.aspx

I feel your pain. Apparently someone has found a way to access our email accounts without having our passwords. I suppose the IT gurus will catch up to this fault sooner or later. In the meantime we just have to keep telling our friends that those emails weren't from us. I wonder if we deleted our contact list would that put a stop to it? Of course that would make sending emails inconvenient if we had to type everyone's email address every time. If they don't stop this security breach soon we may have to make a hard copy of all our friends and their email addresses and then wipe our contact list.

what............... what are you talking is that true, tracking your e-mail, man this is ridicules, by the way tell me where do you use your e-mail through means cybercafes or someones computer huh......yeah just remember yourself dude, so if you do in others computer any type be aware while using and after using because it can be possible to track with the cookies and if your personal comp,, then you have to change the mail site to any most believable and send a mail to your present e-mail site about it better so, cool.

okk now i get the thing....ur e mail address is being used to send these spam messages to everyone in ur contact list and evrytime you change the password still the spam is send from your email id.....may be someone has got a keylogger installed on your system...these keyloggers are really advanced softwares they will send all the information you have typed(on your computer including the site you typed it on) to the person who has installed the keylogger through email...these keyloggers are really advanced you cant detect them anywhere on a computer..it is disguised in the task manager as a system process that to an important process, you wont see it in control panel in add or remove program option, also they do not leave any registry files, also they cannot be detected by any antivirus software and to the last they can be installed on MAC also so my advice is that you must reinstall the OS thats the best way according to me.......

Here's a few things you could do: - run an online scanner to check for virus/spyware/malware.. - use a tool to check browser settings on your machine (i like hijackthis - if you need help using it let me know) Maybe you haven't really been hacked. Maybe you're just on mailing lists.

My email might have been lifted due to forwards. Ever get them and the people sending them don't delete the long listing of email addresses..anyone can then copy them
