The crazy lady's house is for sale!!

I didn't see her all weekend, but trucks were there or not there and not much seemed to be going on. Then today, the RV was gone and there's a for sale sign in the yard! I haven't seen any neighbors, but I'll bet they are excited! I had few problems with her, but I'm not one of those groups of people she hates. We're hoping a good bunch move in, but this isn't the best time to sell a house. (If I'm really lucky they will sell low and that'll have prices going down in the area and then maybe the property taxes will also go down!)

It is always nice when a "crazy neighbor" moves out for one reason or another! I just hope the people that take her place aren't crazy also, or worse. With the real estate market like it is the house will probably be empty for a long while, so they might have to sell low to get rid of it.

That's what I'm hoping. However, I hope the family decide to go ahead and let it go low before its been empty for a long time - I don't really want to have a vacant house around too long.

Having an a house sit empty for a long time isn't good for the neighborhood. If there are too many, it looks like a ghost town. The longer a property is empty the more chance of vandalism or some sort of criminal activity there.

ROTFLOL&PIMP!!! Trust you to know the lyrics to that damnably catchy old "tune!" Funnier doggerel was never written, surely. I think it may have been the first time I ever heard the term "politically incorrect." (I'm sure you recall the PC outrage over the "insensitive, cruel, oughta-be-banned" lyrics, yes?) Tanx for the mem'ries! It's good to be old--if you have contemporaries with your notions of what's fun! LOL! Ohh, maaannnnn...shoot far. Lessee, now where did I put my dry undies...? Maggiepie GOD IS LOVE. Love is never easy....

Wasn't she experiencing something like dementia? Do you suppose they have put her in a long term care facility. I hope it does work out so that you have some calm neighbors move in, I am sure that will be of benefit to you.

We're not sure exactly what she was suffering from, besides making all the rest of us suffer when she got outside and screamed at people. I do know she had lupus, but the other lady I knew who had lupus was always a little crazy in a nice way.

I can only hope that a nicer family moves in. Maybe they won't take as good a care of the yard, but that would only mean that mine doesn't look so bad...

It could be that she's staying with her daughter or her friend because the police strongly suggested she not go back to the house.

I must admit it is a big relief to hear the crazy lady's house is for sale. It makes you wonder what happened after all the hub bub. I am hoping like crazy you get some nice neighbors this time. I am hoping that somehow the mess between the neighbor and I will one day get settled. Apparently they have been spreading it around that I stole her sewing machine and sold it while they were gone. I have it sitting on my sewing table right now, waiting for her to come back to her senses, which I know in my heart of hearts won't happen. She admitted to a friend of mine that she believes that she had another stroke (and didn't say a word to anyone!). She has had substantial damage from previous strokes and her verbal attack on me and her physical attack on Bill proves the fact. Even though things have settled down a lot from the upset, I still am heart broken from the fact that she thinks that I would do such a thing to a person that I loved like a second mother! Now the husband is stating that I have been selling off things that they gave me. He claims that I sold a fridge they gave me, which I had asked them for for a friend of mine whose fridge broke and they couldn't afford to buy a new one. They gave it to the friend. Then he claims they gave me a stereo and I sold that too...I donated it to a school for the developmentally disabled. The list goes on...both are in their late 80's (he turned 87 in January and she turns 87 this month) and both are showing signs of dementia and possibly Alzheimers. Anyhow enough about my problems, I am happy for you that the crazy lady is moved out, it's sad though that she may not be getting the professional help she truly needs. Enjoy the peace!

I feel for you my friend - at least she's not accusing us of stealing from her, tho she's claimed our animals have been in her yard and our animals are either locked in our back yard or locked in the house!

I hope that this means she is going to be away for awhile getting the help she so obviously needs. It's amazing to me that she was allowed to go on that long without someone calling her family or deeming herself a danger to herself and others.

There's always an upside to property values going down, and in this case it's lower taxes! Wonder who put the house up for sale though. Her? Her kids? Hmmmm.....

I really don't know who decided, but I bet the family probably had to convince her that it needed to be done. Maybe they convinced her that if she can't change the neighborhood then maybe she needed to change neighborhoods.

Sounds like they finally put someone in charge of her affairs and deemed her incapable of taking care of herself. It's a shame, but sometimes that's the only answer. If family can't or won't, then someone else has to step in. It's too bad anyone ends up like that. At some point in their lives they were vibrant people.

or else they convinced her that she wasn't ever going to be happy there and should move to some place where she didn't have to worry about the neighbors.

Oy! Maybe if this thing with Charles works out, I could afford to buy the place & we could be neighbors again. :o) Eventually, when I get old & dotty, I could be the one running around my yard & grouching at the neighborhood kids to get off my lawn! See, now? Something to look forward to! Maggiepie "Everyone knows Obama's home country is America and not Kenya. Michelle is a racist..." Guess that's a case of GOOD NEWS/BAD NEWS. Hope the house sells quickly at a fair price, and that it's not bought by a Realtor for rental property.

That would be good, tho the houses in the area have been being sold to people that live in them, tho the people that lived next door for about 10 years moved out and started renting it out

That is super news! I will cross my fingers that your new neighbors are quite a bit less crazy than the previous dingbat. I hope wherever she ended up, she is getting the help she so obviously needs. I agree that it was her house to do with as she liked, but RV's in the driveway can bring down the look of the whole area. I'll also be that the little girl she hosed in the street is overjoyed that she is gone too!

hi elicbxn that sounds like good news for you and your neighbors hope they do sell it at a lower price. and hope for your sakes'that the new neighbors who may move in once the house is sold will be pleasant ones. here in Ca the housing prices are still outrageous as 'are rents. even crappy two bedroom apts rent from 1000 up to 1600 and they should darned well be ashamed. I do mean crappy. I wish jobs would open up here and housing costs would drop, people are so damned greedy its pathetic here and jobs are not paying right now that much so only very well to do people can afford to buy new or even older houses.this is sad in my way of thinking.

That's part of why the tech companies have been moving here, because the housing prices in CA are thru the roof! $1000 would get a really nice place here... Yep, we hope for good neighbors too - but you always do.

I don't quite get what you mean. So she is not really crazy because she is driving right? She just a lady the every body hates type? So she is selling her house. So what is the connection if she is selling the house? And who is they? (selling the house) Is the house own by the lady? Or she is just renting? And what is it with you if the house is sold in a low price? I don't think changes in price of one house can affect the others. Unless its a community in general that the house that has been sold goes down.

She's crazy because she's been verbally assaulting everyone for the last few years, but you know how it is, you don't want to make waves and try to ignore her. And if she's out calling the black folk (good people on the whole) the "N" word and the Hispanics the "W" word, implying they are illegally here, why wouldn't everyone hate her? She does own the house, she bought it new back in the 1970's. She's one of the last people on the street when I moved in in 1984. But neighborhoods are affected by the highest and lowest prices houses are sold for - so if they short sell it, then they will sell below "market value" and lower the prices of the houses in the area. Then the houses are worth less then before and so next year the property taxes have to reflect that.
