I'm confused

I'm confused about the gender of God. Whether He is he or she. Preachers of all the religions are man. There is no woman preacher of religion. So the image of God we find in the religious books like a man. In Hinduism there are many gods and goddesses. But the supreme god Brahma is male. So I think there is partial outlook about creating the image of God.

It has always been assumed that God is a man, and religion will never teach otherwise. None of us will ever know for sure, until we meet him some day.

LOL that goes to show that men always dominated everything in the world being of superior physical strength.I am sure God is neither man nor woman.it is nature which has no gender, is not partial and is totally undemanding...It only gives and when man misuses natures bounties he brings disaster on himself..

I think our goddesses are beautiful. And Shiva prays - so he is essentially praying to that shakti - who is feminine - a combination of knowledge and wisdom (saraswati) + valor (parvati) + resources (lakshmi). Gayatri is a woman. So at the top it is her! I always knew we women are superior to these men. :)

Hi kiran, I disagree with you. I think nature is female. I can't say about the whole universe. But certainly the earth had bneen created from the sun. The source of power of the earth is the sun. The earth is functioning like a female and the sun as a male. The earth or the nature is our mother. Physical strength is not always superior. I think men create the religions and they made the image of God like them. You can brand the source of power as God. Is power has any gender? Still I'm confused.

I believe that God has no gender. I just use the word God, no pronoun. Even if it sounds redundant, I'd rather not use a pronoun that does not exist. Being created in God's image means that we were created with certain abilities that animals not created in God's image do not hve. God probably has a lot of human qualities, but humans don't have all of God's qualities. Then again, I believe that God can be whatever God wants to be, and that God just felt that in order to give us the abilities that god wnted for us to be similar to God's IMAGE (not God, but God's image, God made us human, because in God's mind this was more practical.

According to you God has no gender. But created gender for the continuation of creation. Genderless God is a super chemist. Is it not?

Jesus,Buddha, Mohammad, Krishna and all the preachers of other religions are men. They say God has no gender. But they focus the image of God like a man. I think god is not a Spirit, but a Power.
