Panic Hot Days...!!

Yes friends! The climate at my place 'Bhubaneswar' in Eastern India is now very panic, particularly between 10am to 4pm day time! The temperature goes above 40 degrees of Celcious after 12noon daily in these days! As a safety precaution schools of children and colleges also have been off for summer vacation! Free drinking water distribution stalls are also started by many charitable institutions for common people at many places in the localities and long routes! Rush at Lassi shops and water-melon vendors at hot hours of the day is a common view! This climate continues for about two months i. e. from mid April to mid June every year as per the geography of this place! Of course, evenings are very charming with genteel breeze and partially clear sky! Sudden windy rains often appears in evening or night hours, which cools the climate to some extent! This is the law of nature here - hot summer, showering rains and cold winter! Of course, climate here approaches its extremities in summer and rainy seasons irregularly with some cyclonic or flood disasters! What about climate of your place? Is it enjoyable or panic in these days? Please discuss!!

dear mitraa, that is way too hot. ours here is usually 29 to 32 but it has been reaching 36 to 37 lately and i have been in the shower 3 to 4 times a day mostly. nights seems to be hot too and with all the brownouts happening.. it is really bothersome. best way is to have a cold drink by your side and not to stay out in the sun for long. this kind of climate would really be panicky. ann

Some say that since we belong to a tropical country we only have two kinds of season...the rainy ones and the summer season. I think i am lucky to be born in a country like this. My sister who happened to work abroad in Korea she experience snow there and the temperature is very cold. She doesn't like it and me too. Thankfully it's not that too hot during summer season here and it is something that can be tolerable. I'm sorry about the too humid condition in your country and I hope it will be alleviated soon because I think children will be much more affected by it.

Well, it is very hot here in Delhi too, with the maximum reaching 44.4 Degree Celsius on Thursday, 13 May 2010- a high of 4 years. I was outside that day and felt the heat. It was a bit down in the night due to duststorm and some rain, but not much difference. It has been close to 43 on Friday and Saturday as well. We do see some clouds at times, but not enough rains. Let us hope for some good monsoon.

Oh? That is exactly the same as in the Philippines. I was there in April and a part of May and the weather is so hot. It is hard to sleep at night because of the hotness of the place. Aside from the heat. the people are too noisy, it's hard to even hear. I just wonder if being noisy is a part of that hot weather? I think so.. because people can not be at ease when they are not comfortable.

We can have some very hot days in June, July and August. There is no school during those times, we spend our time inside where it is cool or outside on the river or in the forest. The nights are very nice, it cools off almost every night.

I live in the southeastern United States. Our summers can be very hot but our winters are relatively mild. We might have a week of very cold weather, but that's about it. We're just coming out of a drought otherwise, our rainfall averages 4+ inches a month. If there is any panicking it's in the summer with concern about old people and children overheating. There are local programs to help get fans to the old folks who can't help themselves.

I live in Australia and we’ve left summer behind because we are heading for winter so it is starting to cool down now. Winter will begin in June. Our summers can be hot from mid 30 to 40 degrees Celsius and winter can go as low as 1 degree to around twenty to twenty three degrees. It sounds darn hot where you are right now!

It sometimes goes up to 36 degrees celsius in my place. This is a very hot summer. People are warned not to go out especially at noon to avoid too much exposure to the heat of the sun. There were reports about people having heat strokes and heart attack because of too much heat. I think it's time for people to start taking care of the environment.

I am sorry to hear that you are in a climate where this season is so hot Mitraa. I guess that is somewhat to some of the other countries that I have heard about. The temperatures here are not so frantic. As a matter of fact, it is still a bit cool this time of year. It will not actually warm up until about July. Then it will be just warm enough to go swimming and enjoy the pool at a friend's house. It sounds like you could use a swimming pool to cool off in your country. Are there many pools, lakes or oceans in the area in which you live? It would really be nice if you had somewhere like that where you could cool down. As I said, it is still Spring here in the United States. This week the temperatures are still kind of cool, approximately 57 degrees Fahrenheit. There is lots of rain, wind and tornadoes. I hope that you will keep cool for another month and a half, and then things will be comfortable for you!

The weather in my city too is pretty hot. I avoid getting out in the sun at noon times however urgent the work may be. Just waiting for the rains now.

Hi Mitraa! I am sorry that you have already reach your peak of hot weather! We are just about to enter our "hot weather season"! It usually starts in June to August here in the USA in NY where I live and it can also be brutal! It can hit the high 90 degrees to the 100's and it sometimes doesn't cool off at all at night which makes it very difficult to sleep! I can't afford to use airconditioning so we make due with fans, which only push the hot air around and sometimes make it worse! But, there is nothing that we can do about it here! There is no free anything to help us during these months and we just pray that the electricity doesn't give out, which it sometimes does with the overuse of the airconditioning by businesses and residences! That is when we start panicking!

Gee wizz sweetie, that is freaking hot. I would never handle that heat. I start complaining when we hit 30 degrees. Here it is almost winter and we have some funky rain, that we aren't suppose to have at all. It seems everywhere everything is chaging rapidly. TATA.

Not sure if I should say "lucky you" or not. We usually have hot summers here in Canada and cold winters. But its changing now. We didnt get much cold or snow this winter, we had a few very hot days in April which is not the norm and now its back to being cold. We thought summer was on its way, some have planted their gardens, pools are opened but we have been having ground frost for the past 2 days and it even snowed in some parts. So thats what its like living in Canada, one minute its summer, blink and its winter haha!!

We have our hot days in late July through August. Warnings go out for people take shelter, use fans if they don't have an air conditioner. We too have vendors selling watermelon. These days we are just getting rain. It is so cloudy and rainy. I find it hard to be positive. No outdoors time in the sun. Just wet and cold. Our winters can be extreme too. I live in the middle of the U.S.
