Three days ago it rained at last in the noon, but there was storm and strong wind, many trees were uprooted, roads were blocked. The overhead electrical transmission lines were broken, power was restored after 36 hours, but it is never steady since, it fails every 15-20 minutes. I am trying to post and respond in mylot for last three days but it was not possible, either the power or the net keeps failing.

The worst situati on is, there is no water in the overhead tank on my roof.
on is, there is no water in the overhead tank on my roof. We depend upon the water that is supplied by the public works department, the timing is 6am to 8am and 4pm to 6pm; during these hours there is no power, so we can’t pump up the water to the tank. Some have submersible pumps and deep bore wells in their compounds, they pump up water when they like.
I phoned to the electrical engineer, the answer is; ‘What can we do, it is with the grid, the power trips.’ I feel so helpless. What is the situation at your place regarding power failure, water supply, rains and storms?
Please share
Happy posting, cheers, have a great day.

                    dear professor,
we have experienced drought for about 3 months and farmers were very much affected. my concern was the electricity. we are very dependent on hydro plants but due to the drought the dams were almost dry hence it cannot produce the electricity. we had been experiencing rotational brownouts since then and until now. the rains have started to fall and we are happy but the brownouts have stayed on. i guess in a few weeks everything will be back to normal.

Hi Professor! Sorry for your problems with storms and electricity~
I know how upsetting this must be for you and your family! So
far, as I have said before we haven't hit the hot temps here
yet! In fact, we went backwards so far that it was amost in the
freezing temps here in the last few days! Now it is back in the
70's, but still not promising to stay there! So, maybe another
month and we will also start seeing the high 90's and trouble
with the electricity! We have had plenty of rain and snow this
past winter so I don't think water shortage will be an issue!

Hi Bhuvan, it must have been great to have rain at last after all that sweltering heat for more than a month or so, but I am sorry abouut the water situation, what a paradox .I am at Bangalore for a week and yesterday we had thunder showers that caused a lot of damage with fallen trees and power cut . But still it was very welcome because it brought the temperature drastically and today is a cool pleasant day...All the best and hope your water supply resumes at the earliest ..

Hello Professor. I am so sorry to hear the inconvenience caused by the heavy rain in your region. Yesterday we also started to have rain and it is still raining today and it is cool because of the rain. It is reported that it will rain tomorrow as well. What is good is that it will stops for a while after raining for a certain length of time. So we don't have the problem mentioned in your discussion. Take care, friend.

hi proffessor I hate to say this but here in the US in California we have been lucky so far, no torrential rains and no power outages at
all.We have an adequate water supply from the city. in the hottest weather we a lot of times have revolving brown outs which means that at certain hours a lot of businesses may see their electricity shut down for several hours, homeowners are seldom done that to but are asked to shut down all electrical things not in use and set the thermostat lower on air conditioning and preferably not have it on at all. We had adequate rains earlier but not yet like we normally used to get here
in the winter. what we have had most of the time is drought, lack of water but no water rationing exactly just in the summer people are asked to not sprinkle their lawns on certain days or they will be fined or wash their cars or do laundry .
.
