I have unmangled all the computer wires today and it seemed like it took for ever.I have dogs aswell as cats so all their hairs aswell as fluff were amongst all the wires so this time what i did was wiped all the wires before i taped them altogether as that way they will not get in such a mangled up state again.

I actually need to do this with my own computer wires, they are all tangled up under my desk, and I am always starting to trip over them when I go to get up from the desk, maybe now, I will fix them, where I know someone else did it.

I was soo fed up of seeing all the wires under the pc unit in a mess aswell as all the cats hairs so i have sorted them so that they can not ba seen aswell as they are not a danger to the children or the cats that play near the unit.This should cut down the time in having to clean all those wires all the time.

Hey jugs! I have tried to untangle my wires so many times and no matter what I do they get all tangled again! And my cat, Star has his bed behind my computer desk! So, his hair is all over the place back there with the wires! I wish I could figure out a way to tape mine too so that they would stay untangled! I'll have to see if I can figure out something!

I hope my wire and hair problem is now all sorted for a while.I have taped aswell as wire tied all the wires together aswell as managed to get nearly all of the wires up off the floor so it will now be alot easier to clean up behind the unit aswell as under the unit the pc is on.

Hi I had the same problem - too many open wires and also pets' hair flying all over!! I suggest ( like I did) bring all those wires together and as you have already taped them together put them in a corrugated plastic sheath or corrugated tubing ( like the ones use in electric or telephone wires) - you get them in various colours,lengths and thicknesses at any hardware/electrical or even computer stores. Not only then these wires stay free & very clean but the place looks much better and easier to maintain -later when you have to add or remove any wires is a breeze and hardly time consuming.

That sounds a great idea but i have got them all sorted now and the wires are all hiden away behind the tower of the pc and they are all tidy aswell as all lifted off the floor so it will be easier to keep clean and pet hair free.It will halve the time of doing just that one roof so what a bonus.

I know the feeling only too well. We call our computer wires "Spaghetti Junction" after the famous roadway in Birmingham (England) where from the air the roads criss-cross over each other like a mass of spaghetti. It is the same behind our TV set, but when I tidy them up, it is difficult to know which wires connect to which sockets again! _Derek

I had to take one wire out at a time then untangle it then to know i would know where it had came from.It seemed to take forever but the end result was great as now it looks really tidy aswell as that the cats and the children will not get caught up or pull on any wires as there are none on show.

well that's good for you that you are able to do that unlike here in our house. hehe well its my husband who usually do those things in the house since i don't like touching wires coz it irritates me. hehe but i think its been a month since the last time hubby do this and i think for now there's already a lot of dust and dog & cat's fur piling in there plus some fallen hair from me as well...hehe maybe i will try doing it myself or just ask my husband to do it, the least that i can do is sweeping the area where they are.

I have sorted out all of the wires are tidt aswell as off the floor so that i can either sweep under the pc unit or pull it out with out any of the wires getting manggled up again.I have not got to worry about the cats getting tanggled up in all the wires now either so i will be able to clean the room alot quicker aswell as alot easier.

hi jj, i used to have so many wires just lying free at the back of the computer table that i will not notice a snake (if there ever is) together with it. and my dog loves to make his bed there when i am online. i tied each one with a rubber and it looked much better and organized. have a nice day.. ann

I hate all the hair that used to get trapped out there aswell as on all the wires as it seemed to take forever to clean it all up aswell as that i used to end up pulling a wire or two out while cleaning.I have done it now so that all the wires are tidy aswell as out of sight and off the floor.

I can imagine how your wires looked because i have five dogs roaming freely inside the house. They sometimes eat my wires imagine the pain of fixing and connecting badly bitten wires from time to time. Glad that you finally have osrted the wires. It's only a matter of time when their hair accumulates in to the wires again

I have got it all sorted so that there are no wires in sight aswell as they are neat and all off the floor now, so i hope that i will not have the problem of all the hair as now i can get under the pc unit aswell as i can pull the unit right out with out any of the wires pulling undone.

Near my computer i have the black and white printer, color printer and scanner, the wires that emerge from mine are many, the cam wire, the microphone wire etc, i have tied them in bunches using fine wire, it is good you you used a tape for the wires from your computer... Thanks for sharing. Welcome always. Cheers. Prof

I think that by getting all the wires sorted out aswell as lifted up so that they are no longer in site it will be soo much easier to keep on top of all the cleaning just in that room where the pc is, so more time todo a few more things.

You have no idea how messy and mangled my computer wires. I didn't intend to do anything to make it neat or clean. I just let it be, and that is my lifestyle. I won't mind all the wires mangled together right now. At least, my computer and all the connections are functioning well.

My pc was working fine aswell, i was justting fed up of all the wires laying every where aswell as i have cats and children that can get caught up in them so i decided to sort the wires out once and for all so it will also be easier to clean there, saving me alot of time.

I have alot of other things todo aswell but this now means that the housework will now take alot less time todo as i will not have to keep moving all the wires to clean under them aswell as behind them which is great as that used to take me soo long todo as all the dust aswell as cat hair that was there.

I know it would help. I finally got my husband to go through his magazines. We threw out two paper grocery bags full and kept well over that. I'll try to get there soon.

I'm with you there friend! I've untangled the wires in our home computer far too many times already that I got tired of it. I taped it but there came a time when we had to remove the tapes because we needed the monitor for a different computer. You could try buying cable ties so that the tape won't end up transferring the sticky part on your wires. The problem with cable ties though is that you have to cut it with pliers or very strong scissors if you want to break your wires free
@jugsjugs (12967)

I have used both cable ties and tape that way the wires are all taped together and the wire ties are holding all the wires up behind the pc.Now that there are no mangled wires all over the floor it looks better and is alot safer for my cats aswell as for the children.

Yuck! That doesn't sound like one bit of fun. I have wires everywhere, but no pets (and no kids) to get tangled up in them.

It did take sometime to get them all untanggled but the end result was worth it in the end.It will be soo much easier to clean properly behind them now aswell as it will take alot less time todo so what a bonus compared to how frustrated it made me sorting all those wires out.

Good for u!! I have always wanted to do that, but i'm kinda lazy.. haha =D PLus, all the wires are hidden behin my huge computer desk, and it's gonna be a hassle to shift everything and tidying them.. hehe ^_^ The most i will do, is to use a broom, sweeping those wires, that i see, clear off the dust on them, and that's it.. lol =D Maybe one of these days when i feel like it, i will do the way u have done to the wires.. hehe

hi jugsjugs I am so lucky in regard to my computer nnd monitor wires as they are all behind this huge bureau. I am unlucky in that my computer and monitor have room atop this bureau but as its a solid bureau I have no knee hole space as I wou ld have with my desk,. my son is using my desk however. so I have to sit with my legs akimbo which is not too comfortable. but at least I do have my computer and my monitor which as made life so muc h happier for me. hugs take care do get some rest we all worry about you as you have such a large family to care for. hugs.

Hi Hatley.With just sorting out all those horrid wires that were every where it has made the room alot easier to clean aswell as made it look soo much more organised.It will now take me alot less time to keep the room tidy aswell as the pc i also sorted out the wires behind my tv which was great as that will also now cut the time of cleaning down aswell.Thankfully all the children are back at school tomorrow, but then i have got to see a few people while they are in school.

Yuck! Animal hair sure can make a mess. Fluff, fluff, fluff!! Taping them all together sounds like a smart idea. Now what does the animal fluff have to get into? I would wonder. I don't have any animals around right now. Birds outside and the dogs nextdoor but that is all.

Its really hard to manage wires. It seems no matter what we do it will still get entangled. What I usually do is tape them in the floor or wall or anywhere they can be fixed. Its pretty dangerous when the wires are not managed properly. Someone might tripped from it or your pets might gnawed the wires and get electrocuted in the process.
@jugsjugs (12967)

I have found that by taping all the wires together it really has helped as i taped the wires together then i wire tied them up at the back of the computer unit so that most of them are hiden aswell as off the floor, this means that there are no wires near my door aswell where people walk in and out of.

Try to use a cable tie in fixing the computer wire. Don't let any pet got into the wire. If then, your computer is in trouble. If you have a room or upstare, try to locate your computer there.

I was soo worried with having cats that one day with them wires all tangled up behind the pc then something may happen to the cats, i have even now done all the tv wires so they look alot neater aswell as all the wires are all into the closest adapter.
