It was a gas!

Just had the gas engineer at the house to service the boiler. I don't know if they are doing some "care in the community" project but this one was a loon! Not in a scary way, just funny. He TALKED to the boiler, telling it what to do and had a singing commentary on everything he was doing "and now I'm going down the stairs" "paperwork! paperwork! paaaaaperwork!" It was all I could do to keep a straight face (I think I cracked a couple of times). Why aren't all workmen and engineers this entertaining? Perhaps they should send them on theatre courses so that when they come to your house to fix things they can cheer you up as well!

Oh, posh, Dearie! If you worked with inanimate objects all day, day in and day out you would talk to them too! I do occasionally myself. I do admit I am a LOON and I am glad of it. Why keep a straight face? He probably thought he was just entertaining himself and if others got in the fall out- so be it!

Sounds like you've had a fun engineer there.. We had a plumber to fix our bathroom in and he was whistling funny songs most of the day, that nobody had ever hear of. Being a musician myself, I asked him what the songs were, but he told me that he had no idea! _Derek

Perhaps they teach them at technical school these days.

It sounds like it was a pretty good way to get your boiler serviced. I think some people just have the ability to entertain, and a nice easy way about themself.

Oh yes! If you're ever looking to "service" a boiler, you really do need to sweet talk 'em first! It's kind of like making thew effort to take a woman to dinner and a movie before putting on the romantic moves. Chances improved dramatically yes? Hang on, the boiler didn't talk back did it???

Very rarely we get such enthusiastic workers who love their job and do the same with lot of entertainment. They just change the dry environment to a lively one. But we should have the mood to enjoy them.Sometimes,we will be in a hurry or worry and at that time they may look silly and intolerable too.

Oh, a really funny guy, he brings happiness to you. engineers are humans totally, so some of them also can be not as serious as a engineer.

Hey hvedra! I don't know about this! It could be that this guy really loves his job! Or, maybe he was smoking something to help make his job more fun! Or, he is just one of those really "happy" people! Take your pick! Whichever one, I would love that kind of repairperson to come into my house anytime to fix my boiler!

That is so nice when someone has to come to your house and they have a good sense of humor or are just happy people. It changes your day for the better. Unlike some people who come and you know first off that they don't want to be there.

I believe that worker will have a lot client in the future. I think many people will like people who wiling to act like clown as ice breaker with the client. I believe its takes a guts to act like that, thats why not many act like that.
