Well, at least to my waist in most areas. Some areas I am up to my neck in berries. This photo shows me picking my rasberries today (7-1) in my yard. I got a few quarts picked and have frozen them for future use. I also have a whiny daughter that is constantly asking for some. But..... HAHAHA! What is your favorite fruit to eat or make/bake things from? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I love making peach crisp and I like peach pie but I also love strawberries. My daughter brought me a strawberry from my garden yesterday. It was our first...small and kinked and hardly worth picking but it's all mine! The other thing I love to eat from the garden is rhubarb! I don't use it for cooking, I prefer mine fresh out of the garden like I used to eat when I was a kid. The only other fruit I have growing is a single gooseberry bush. I'm not an avid gardener but rhubarb, strawberries and gooseberries are the mainstays of any garden I may decide to plant. I'll be happy when I'm back in Alaska where I don't have to water my garden all summer to save its life.

Jam - My first try ever at making jam turned out flawlessly.
Strawberries? I had so many in my garden this year I actually am tired of them to a point. I've made 20 to 25 pints of jam from them so far. Many left to pick too. Here's a photo of some of the jam I made this year. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Its a very good year for raspberries , isn't it. Last year I missed out because we were on holiday at this time and the raspberries were just past their best when we got back , but we are not away until the end of this month. The strawbs are just coming to their end, we have also done well with the rhubarb and that is still going strong. When they turn blue, i will have lots of blueberries , I love those, but I think my favourite is the redcurrants, but they are not ready yet. I do freeze them but they are lovely eaten frozen , one at a time, which sounds a bit mad, but I like to eat frozen peas exactly the same way . Going back to the raspberries,- are you finding , that when you pick them , if you turn round and look at the rows, there is another lovely ripe one ready for picking, its almost as though when you turn your back, they ripen within seconds !

I did not have many last year as I cut the bushes down. If you cut them down the berries return more plentiful in 2 years and this year has proven that theory. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I LOVE black raspberries. My grandma used to have lots of raspberry bushes and she would make black raspberry pie. It was awesome! I have made a few of them myself since she has been gone, but nothing compares to grandma's pie. I have been having a craving for it here lately, so I might have to buy some black raspberries and make one. There is only one place I know of that has the black raspberries and they are frozen. Lots of places have blackberries, but they are not nearly as good.

My favorite fruit is mangoes but alas they cost too much most of the time but I love strawberries, and raspberries too, blue berrie, heck I am a fruit lover of most kinds, but hate gooseberries. too puckery for me. I love berries though but can not eat black berries because of the seeds.

Oooh, that is a hard question. There are not too many fruits I do not like. I almost said pumpkin, but that is actually a vegetable. I like it in lots of things. I can see you are have a wonderful time in your garden this year.
