No really I got into some sumac working in our yard and this other yard. I was covered up in this stuff and itching so bad I couldn't stand myself. I went to mom's house to do some yard work for her and she told me to mix listerine and baking soda together and put it on me where I had the sumac and it would cure it. I took her advice and sure enough it really worked. In just a few days it was all gone. Do you have natural cures for your health problems? How about sharing your remedies for curing yourself?

You're welcome, I figured where you are there might be some of those awful plants.

@rebelann we have it all here. The only one I’ve touched though is poison ivy and I’m not allergic to it. I walk through it and never have a reaction. Didn’t even know what it was for many years.

I hoped it would be helpful if you happen to live somewhere that those plants grow.

I've never seen any of them so I don't know if I'm allergic.

The weed known as plantain or plantago, a green rosette of a low growing plant is awesome for insect stings, including wasps and hornets. It also is good added into an all purpose herbal salve for cuts and scrapes.

Hi Rameshprabhu and welcome to my lot. I just want to get a list of natural cures for anything and everything. My mother used to put hot salt in a white sock to drain the fluids out of our ears. It is good for ear aches. We were always in good health growing up none of my brothers and sisters were ever really sick. And mom always used natural cures I wish I had taken better notice when I was growing up. Thanks!

@free_man Mom did salt sacks for my brother's ear aches. She used a white hanky. I fill socks with cheap rice to heat in the microwave for a hot pack.

I will have to remember that. I'm hoping that it might work on bug bites too. We just got back from vacation and hubby is covered with them. They all seem to love his blood!! Me... they stay away from!

Vinegar will also get rid of it. Vinegar is effective in curing/treating a lot of different things. You can do a search online to find a list of things that vinegar is good for.

Hi Goldeneagle. I knew Vinegar was a cure to help someone loose weight but never thought of it for much of anything else. Will have to look online to find out what else it is good for. Thanks.

Hi Rameshprabhu and welcome to my lot. I found a cure all for poison ivy, sumac and poison oak. It is a cure for any and all of them. Listerine and baking soda mixed together and then put it on where you have one or the other of these and it will make them go away.

That is great, I have never heard of this remedy but I will keep it in my brain for when this happens to me. I only have one but I think most people do know about it. Put tooth paste, not the gel kind on a bee sting. This takes away the sting and the swelling, smells a little minty but otherwise a good idea. Will love to see some of the other cures people have for things.

Glad it worked and interesting with things most people have around their house, Even tough it tasted awful I did not have to swallow it but gargling with hot salted water always helped me with sore throates,
