If you were to design your own paper money like a dollar bill, what would you

have on it? I think I would design three bills. One buck, two bucks, and three bucks. The one buck would have a male dear with horns. The two bucks would have a doe and a male dear. The three bucks would have a Doe, a male, and a fawn. That would be on one side, but I'm not sure what I would design on the other side.
Some communities have made their own dollars and/or their own script. NY State paid in script when they rain out of money to pay state workers when my husband was a child. Ithaca, NY created its own money. I liked the salemander that had to start out with. Over time they've had natural features of their area and Native Americans as well as children on their money. Natural features here would be Ausable Chasm, White Face and Titus Mountains as well as Pocomoonshine. Our Native Americans are Mohawks that are in our area. We currently also have Mennonites and Amish who have moved up here. Maybe I would have Captain Chazy one one and maybe I would have the Miner family would built a school, damn, and hospital as well as started an Agricultural research farm.
So what would your paper money have on it? Or who(m) would you have on it?

Okay, for the Scots, I would have a thistle, the Swedes would have a Dala Horse. A sheaf of whet to represent the hard red winter wheat the Mennonites brought. That is the beginning of representing the communities around here. I would have stars on the reverse side of coinage and bills--Kansas Motto, to the Stars through Adversity. Oh, and we have had a number of astronauts so we would have cameos of astronauts with the stars. Other things to include might be a Bison, or a peach basket for the invention of basketball.Or a Chrysler and a Dodge. Or how about a whole series of Oz related icons?

I can see all that in my mind. That would be sooo cool!Designing money for your own area could be fun and educational for the area you live in, too! I didn't put any plants on it, oh my. Good thing I seek out other ideas. Our state flower is the rose. Our biggest crops are apples and corn. Both of which the deer eat so I could work that in. Should probably have some wild edible plants, too. Like our 3 roadside edibles that most people can recognize now are wild carrot, chicory, and cattails. White, blue, and brown. Thanks for helping me remember that. If I ever do get to design moneyfor my area, I would definitely want the plant kingdom represented as well as some trees like white pine, paper birch, balsam, etc.
Your list is excellent for your area and well thought out. Thanks and take care.

There's a new one below now. Really different thoughts on this. I wonder how people when they first make paper money ever come to a concensus when people have such different ideas? Like the USA Founding Fathers and later the people from Ithaca.

If I could design a dollar bill, I think I would have a blossom flower in the middle of it, diamond shapes on the corners and have it in a deep orange color. Because people come in contact with money so often, it might as well be a pleasant design with a nice color so it could cheer people up.
Hopefully people like blossoms.

I like flower blossoms. That sounds very pretty! I think people would smile when they saw your money.

Oh come on writer, you know where my heart is and it won't make it here, only in Israel would my bills be accepted and even then the orthodox Jews wouldn't like it.
I am not so imaginative when it comes to pictures, so I will cheat a little if I may and use this design here I posted..I don't know how clear it is, this picture was bought for me years ago by my mentor who had passed away in May of 2009. She bought this which was a poster of a huge, banner, I am talking about covering a whole wall size banner, it was huge. I fell in love with it at the conference we were attending and so she bought a small poster for me. Except I couldn't get it frame before it got wrinkled..
So what you are seeing here is the ark of the covenant surrounded by angels and at the bottom are three worshipers..
And above is G♥d's glory falling down and around. It really is awesome, especially at the life size level..

So it would be religious money. Maybe it could be used in the future carmelanirel built temple. One never knows what the future holds.
So we'd have to find you some unorthodox Jews.
I'm sorry your mentor passed away, but you have something to remember her by.

You have God, angels and worshippers, if a person was not religious or anti-religion, you'd have a rough time convincing them that it was separation of church and state for sure. The Vatican is a holy city, some of the paintings in Rome might work there. One never knows. Interesting the different reaponces. Thanks and take care.

I would have four notes. Ones, fives, twenties and hundereds. Ones would have mystical beings and beautiful gardens on it. The fives would have endangered animals on it. The twenties would have a herd of unicorn on it and the hundred would have gems on it. Lovely idea. Such an imagination.

Doesn't it sound beautiful?
The three of us need to get into money making together.
I thought this would be a fun topic, I hope more people respond.
Thanks both of you and take care.

Wow! I think you're the one with the wonderful imagination. Can you see your dollars with metalic or pearlized inks? Esp. some of the mystical beings and definitely the unicorn. Two responces and I'm getting some wonderful and varied responces already. Our mistical being up here is the Lake Champlain Monster and I did a paper mache of him with Christmas metalic green paint one time. It came out awesome, but only because of the paint. Unfortunately, I only had one tube of that paint (so the newspaper print bled through, now I know you should paint white or gesso first) and couldn't afford metalic again, I bought a cheaper green and it came out horrible. I felt like I had ruined it.
By the way, which mystical beings were you thinking of besides the unicorn? Any leprochans at the end of a rainbow with a pot of gold maybe?

If I could design my own paper money, i would like to have a six dollar bill. it would be perfect for when five dollars is not enough and ten dollars is too much. i think i would like it to have a national parks and monuments theme. i would choose different attractions with national park themes. i think it would be an interesting concept.@writersedge (22563)

National Parks would be fun. Which ones, since you are picking a 6 dollar bill (which is also an interesting concept), would you have on it?
