what do you think cause this decline? is it because of the scarcity of jobs or the tightening of immigration policy?

There are NO JOBs, and the ones that there are cover too much work. When you do get a job now, you end up doing the work of 3 or 4 people because they will not hire enough workers to do the job that needs to be done. It is called EMPLOYER GREED... The Illegals know that the Big"0" is getting ready to make all Illegals legal an to open the borders to anyone...That is what this dammmm report to the UN was all about.

so for immigrants, america is the land of opportunities. once the opportunities are gone, they are gone too. i read about the situation there having few jobs available. even with those jobs, they feel insecure of their situation. it is really hard times. i hope it won't be long that america will turn the corner and regain those opportunities.

I am not sure if this is even true. I feel more people are coming here to get jobs. People from other countries are willing to work for less pay and a lot of American companies know this. I feel this is sad because why would you want to run your company while putting people out on the street because they cannot get a good paying job. I feel certain job markets should be regulkated more so this happens less. I understand everyone needs a chance to make it but we need to worry about our own people first, not second. This is my opinion on the matter.

US is gradually losing its importance and potentiality as an attractive destination for people from other countries seeking avenues for financial gain and prosperity. The unemployment is steadily rising due to economic crisis. The strategy of tightening immigration policy and of restricting outsourcing will cause more damage to its economy on various reasons, and will create more unemployment in US. Shrinking job opportunities in US will naturally bring down flow of immigrants.

definately lack of jobs, they have been whining for over a year about it. Bit now, this year, Mexico has seen growth in there economy.... hhhmmm maybe they should keep their low wage workers.

It is definitely the economy. If your really think about, government hasn't really changed anything on the immigration policy.

I've gotta agree with the masses...it's the economy in my opinion. The construction/home improvement industry was riddled with illegal day laborers who hung out in Home Depot and Lowes parking lots every morning waiting to be picked up by contractors and subcontractors. Since the home building and remodeling industry went downhill, the jobs dried up. Many other jobs that illegals normally do have dried up.
