Well, you do know I can't say no...

The new baby, Sparky - with my Scamp

When it comes to cats. So, here's a picture of the newest member of the household, with my beautiful Scamp. Of course, you can't really see how beautiful Scamp is, since he's BLACK, but you can see the baby behind him. The baby is named Sparky, as in "spark plug" since he was found in a car engine. Obviously he got out safely... However, he's pretty timid so we are mostly keeping him shut up in my bedroom, this means a certain amount of "musical cats" opening the door and letting the big cats come and go. However, the big cats, after giving him a pretty good sniffing over, are treating him just like another member of the family. The only time I've seen a big cat swat him, he's bitten a tail. So, isn't he just a beauty? I like those bold "classic" tabby bulls eyes on his sides, I know its kind of hard to tell in the pix, but he has them...

Our cat just gave birth to her kittens too. As I got home last weekend, I was surprised to see that our pregnant cat's tummy have gotten small. And that's when my mom says that our cat have already gave birth a day ago as I got home. I haven't seen the kittens yet because she hid in our storeroom just like how she did last time. I'm expecting to see the kittens maybe after two weeks of waiting when they were already able to run and play. I'm getting excited to see them soon and play with them. I also keep on wondering what would be their colors and how they look like. -)

Babies are nice, but with so many unwanted cats in the world, I fix my cats so they aren't having kittens.

Sorry aeisle there is no excuse for your cat having kittens. As you said this is her second litter. Spay her before she has any more.

!ALWAYS SPAY/NEUTER YOUR CATS! I hope you get your mama cat spayed before another litter comes. There is nothing like overpopulation of cats!

If I could afford it and had more willingness to keep vigilant on cat litter boxes, I wouldn't mind taking in cats in need. We have one our landlords still don't know about, but I'm glad I haven't seen any others (and try not to look at pleas for help, either, because I just can't help and feel guilty over it).

Kittens are so hard to resist. I am glad he got out of the car engine safely. Your big cats must be used to you bringing new ones home all the time. I can't wait to go look at the picture.

Yeah, they are used to the cats coming in - way more used to it than the incoming cats are used to other cats...

That is very nice of you! Was the kitten in your/a friends engine, or did you adopt him from a shelter and they told you he was stuck in one? I can tell you're cat is beautiful because all black cats are beautiful! :) And yes, you're new guy is very very cute! Sparky (spark-plug) is a really cute name!!!

A friend of a friend... Nef and Tuti's mom's neighbor was the one to discover the kitten in her engine. She thought her cat was terrorizing the baby, but honestly, the kitten is kind of borderline feral, its taken some convincing that we aren't going to eat him, to calm him down. He's not as feral as the other feral cats and I think we've "flipped" him, because he wasn't as far gone as the others. We have 5 black cats, and Scamp is, in my never to be humble opinion, the most beautiful, then Nef, then Elizabeth, then Sassy (with her white whiskers), and lastly Tuti. Tuti is kind of not put together quite right, head too small, tail kinked, but she gives GREAT massages!

he's beautiful.. I love Tabbies too. One of my first cats and loves of my life was a petite female Tabby w/white chest and paws and she like (almost) never meowed.. Not until she was like 5... I have 2 tabbies now one short hair and one medium.. I love the patterns and markings.. He's going to be SO Handsome... congrats on the new baby.

He's pretty quiet too, both he and Daisy, the other new kitten this year have very quiet, seldom used meows.

Your Scamp is a beauty and reminds me of my Misty! The kitten is lovely, too. I love the silver/black tabbies. I think they are the prettiest. My Chester is tan/black as is Spooky and Smoky. But the silver/black is the prettiest color combo!Thank you for sharing your photos! I wouldn't be able to resist such a cutie, either, kiddo!

Scamp is the second oldest cat now, and the one we've had the longest. Personally, I think the one I'm currently petting is the prettiest cat, but I'm not too picky...

He actually isn't too picky, who ever will let him cuddle, and I'm not sure Scamp really knew he'd done that until he woke up with my taking his pix

LOL @ bitten a tail it's funny,i've noticed black cats seem to take no poop when they're moving in. my tiniest, the little female black cat has the biggest mouth.if you saw her trying to puff up and look intimidating in the face of 28 pounders, you'd die laughing. they usually look at me like "damn, what's her problem?"

my Scamp, the black cat, is the biggest coward you've ever seen, but Sparky is working out really well, got fixed a week ago.

Actually, you put an excellent picture on here. In the enlargement, you can see the contours and the sheen of the different fur and light going off from it. I've never seen a black cat photographed so well. My silver grey (blue) cat always comes out dull grey or like an old person's hair. I can't get the grey with silver tips differentiation. Anyway, glad Sparky found you. He's got great coloring and I'm glad he's found some friends of the 4 legged kind. Hope that swat taught him not to bite tails. Take care.

I think he's learning to not bite so hard. Most of the time my black cats are just inkblots...

How many cats do you have? I'm not a cat person so I could say no, actually I'm not an animal person at all. Must be all the moving we do because traveling with an animal would be a chore beyond what it already is right now. I'm glad that you can take in some cats and give them love. Funny name for a cat but appropriately named.

who? Scamp or Sparky? Scamp is the last of the cats I had 10 yrs ago, and Sparky is going great! He's still timid, but I think that's going to be with him and Scamp is a big coward, but they do look cute together!

Congratulations on your new addition to the family! He is so cute! They all are when they are babies though. Then they grow up and become beautiful, like your black cat. I had a black cat that I thought was the most handsome (he was male) one I had ever seen, but he was a long hair. I didn't like picking up the fur, no matter how attrative I thought he was.

I don't like grooming those long haired cats, its why I only have 3 of them, and one is my #2 son and my grandson.
