Side of the road, side of the road, I did my shopping at the side of the road.

Free signs on a table by the side of the road. Pumpkins on a roadside stand for $1.50 and up. Rummage, yard, lawn, garage and barn sales. An artisian well or a hand pump one, I can pull off and get my water at the side of the road. Side of the road, side of the road, I can do my shopping on the side of the road. Helping my neighbors get rid of their debt load. Shopping on the side of the road. Today I went to get water and saw pumpkins at a roadside stand. I got a 2 pie sized one for $2, but we'll probably uss it for stew or cookies or whatever. Water was free.I was hoping to find some free stuff or to run into a yard sale, but I didn't. After buying the pumpkin, I didn't really have any $ for a yard sale, but I could still look. Was hoping for a free table for a future yard sale. 80s in places in my area, but we didn't get that high and we had rain. Supposed to be rain tomorrow. So no yard sale. I've noticed we need more tables and sometimes I see them for free on the side of the road. So what's your side of the road story? Do you have any versus to add to the side of the road, side of the road? What have you bought? What are you looking for or hoping to find?

Excellent, my Mom used to use one to put names on our luggage, pocketbooks, my Dad's tools, all kinds of stuff. Great price, too!

I already used it to put my sons name on his lunch box and on my husbands fork..(Long story on the fork..lol) I love it and it has different speeds too. Since I used it for find detail work, I set it at the slowest speed and it worked so well, I was very happy.

Last summer when I was in Sweden we bought strawberries on a roadside stand, if I remember correctly the girl selling them was growing them in her garden. Needless to say, those strawberries were just delicious! :)

Yeah! Garden to side of the road, fresh, full of vitamins, etc. In the USA, I live on the east coast, but far inland. Much of our food comes from a refrigerator truck that has traveled for days from the west coast. 50% or more of the vitamins may be lost from our "fresh produce," so roadside stand is way better or even buying frozen food that was fresh frozen. I was told before I went to France that France is the size (roughly) of our state of Texas. Not sure what Spain is equal to in size. Since I'm in NY, I prefer NY grown or NJ grown (New York State or New Jersey State-right below us) or Pennsylvania stuff. When I travel to Vermont next door, I like their farm stuff. The growing season on the west coast is longer, things grow bigger, and in California, they can grow some things like we can't, like figs. Probably more than you were interested in knowing. The good thing about the USA being so huge (not compared to old Russia, China, or Canada, but much of the rest of the world) is that if a draught or flood happens somewhere, food will cost more, but it usually just comes from somewhere that didn't have the draught or flood. Also we import a lot of food. That worries me because I'm not always sure the sanitation is the same or if the cans are made with led, etc. Probably also more than you needed to know. You were in Sweden last summer? Oh wow! I would love to go there. Did you start any discussions about it that I should check out? What was it like? Did you enjoy it? What was the best part about it to you?

Oh you definitely should start a discussion about it because it sounds absolutely wonderful! Oh yes, wild and homegrown are better. Maybe you guys could live in Spain during the Swedish winters and in Sweden during the Spainish summers. People do that here all the time. People live in NY during the summer and Florida during the winter. Their nickname is called 'snowbirds". They go south before the snow falls. Of course, if you're still of working age or if you have jobs, this could be tough to work out. If northern Spain is hot, what is southern Spain? I love the Meditarranean diet, too. just can't afford much for food right now.

Spain is quite big, but I don't really know how much compared to some of US's states. I live in the northeastern part, in Catalonia, the climate is lovely (even though summers can get a bit too warm sometimes, ugh) and we produce a lot of nice food... I personally love the mediterranean diet :) Yeah, my boyfriend is Swedish and we're currently in a long distance relationship, but we try to visit each other whenever possible. Last summer was my 'turn', so to speak; I spent a couple of months there at his place and it was just great. I had been there before but not in the summer, and I simply loved it. He has a lovely forest pretty much across the street, full of wild strawberry plants, raspberries, cranberries... we had a lot of fun going there and eating them! 'Wild' or homegrown fruit often tastes so much more and so much better, in my opinion. I haven't started any discussions about it, but maybe I should... you've given me a nice idea, thanks! :)

Side of the road, side of the road, got my wheels on the side of the road, Got a wheel of a deal on the side of the road, it is worth more now and still carries a load. Top put down and away we go, looking at the scenery on the side of the road. We have a Mercury Capri convertible we bought at a garage sale. It is actually worth about what it cost plus the cost of tires a time or two and a new top. Looks great and gets 35-40 mpg.

Love how you worte your discussion! Usually we hit up alot of rummage sales during the year. Upon occasion we find things decent that are curbside that we can use even if only for a little while. It's an adventure going to rummage sales (thrift stores aren't bad) as you never know what you'll find vs what you are willing to pay. Sadly it's hard for me to buy new even on clearance prices too! As I know there's a better deal somewhere and if it's not urgent then I'll wait for the better deal to come along.

Thanks, glad you liked the way I wrote it. I wanted it to be fun.Wished it rhymed or at least the # of syllables matched more. I hope things work out better for you in the future.

I think that is a good price for the pumpkins. I think that they are going to be expensive this year in the stores because of the weather and alot of them got ruined. I watch the Nate Berkus Show on tv and he is a interior decorator. He does a think on his show that is about just that. Things he and people across the US have found free or cheap along the roadside. I see stuff all the time.

I've never seen the Nate Berkus show. Sounds interesting. Our pumpkins were early in this area by 2 weeks this year. Looks like a good harvest here.

I seldom watched Oprah. She is on at 3 or 4 in the afternoon when most people are working.Besides some of the people she thought were great turned out to by frauds, liars, and even dangerous.

Yes, the Nate Berkus show is interesting. You never saw him on Oprah? Glad the harvest of pumpkins there is good. Not sure about ours yet. I saw that on the news. Not sure where they were talking about.
