Adirondack Soup Kitchen, esp. this time of year. Great soups and sandwiches, locally owned, a small bookcase nearby and some small games, too. Border's Book store for a quick cup of Chai and to catch up on things, sometimes to hunt for books together. Crystal Caboose, esp. in the community room having a cup of tea. Great place to chat and find lower priced books. I like to show people the Caboose, too. People are amazed at how much stuff you can get into one caboose. She must have a thousand items in there. My husband likes Sandi's diner down the road. He meets friends and talks there. He also likes Borders. I haven't brought him to the Adirondack Soup Kitchen yet. When I was younger, I used to hang out at a skating rink. When T'ai Chi was going strong, we used to hang out after class together. When I had more money, Plattsburgh's Farmers' and Crafters' Market, but it's sad to have all that food there and not be able to afford it. Plus it's 25 miles away and there are eggs just down the road, roadside stands on the way to getting water, etc. So where do you like to hang out with friends?

I would have to say one of the local casino's where they have a private club aboe the casino. Food and drinks are no charge. I know several people who are there during the day and have lunch and dinner there everyday. I go once in awhile and eat lunch more often then dinner. Ran into a friend I use to work with 45 years ago and meet her on a regular basis. We are both retired now and enjoy chatting about past co-workers. I also go to McDonald's and meet some friends for coffee a couple of times a week in the morning.

This club is open to members who like to really gamble. I am guilty, I love it.

Our casino has a buffet. It's huge! It costs money as do the drinks. But it's the biggest buffet going. You could put Ponderosa's old one in a small part of this one. The desert section is huge. Lots of meat. I wish some place beside Salvation Army and other soup kitchens had food for no charge. They must make a lot of money at your casino. Ours pays out pretty well. I made $40 one time. The next time, my husband lost $80 and I won $80. Redistrobution of funds! I could have stayed home and done that! Ha, ha! But it wouldn't have been as much fun.

We used to go our dancing. We went to he marothan of the Planet of the APe movies. Ya, all of them. That was a while back. We went to the skating rink afew times but I never hung out with very co-ordinated people so we didn't do that much. Back when ceramics were popular we went and did that occasionally too. Made some cool gifts. We ate alot and went to Wells and Kmart shopping together.

Sounds like you did lots of great "hanging out." Dancing, movies, ceramics, shopping. Those are great! What did you make in ceramics?

Personalized mugs, statues of unicorns, dancing fairy with a inlaid gem for the child's birthday and baby stuff. Great for cute kid's gifts. Especially for girls.

I have one friend that I go to Applebees for lunch once a month, because they sent out a card that lets us do buy one get one free. I have one friend that always likes to meet us at Perkins. It is kind of her hang out and she lives out of town and only comes in for appointments. I would like to get either of them to go to Kettle Creek coffee house. It is a very secure place if you take your laptop, and the owners are pleasant and intelligent to talk with. I guess I do not really go visit and chat and hang out much anymore. I just hang out online.

Some of us don't like people in our homes. Then I can't hang out. All I do is cook, clean, entertain. If I want to hang out, then I want to go somewhere where I can hang out. I have to get the person food, get the person drinks, find something interesting to do. When I'm home, I want to relax. Yeah, the Adirondack Soup Kitchen has a vegetarian soup and a meat one for each meal. It changes every day. They have big homemade bread. They have salads and sandwiches that are wonderful to eat. It's very, very relaxed.

I like to hand out with my husband and I work for one person that I hang out with, too. But my husband and I have gone to parades, field days, garage sales, craft sales, etc.
