Will you help out the sample person and buy the product so they can get a bonus?

Let's say you were at the grocery store and a sample person gives you a free sample. The product tastes OK you could take it or leave it. Then they tell you if the store sells so many of that sample they will get a bonus which they really need because their car is broken down or some other reason, do you help them out and buy the product? Or do you just say thanks and move on?

If it tastes okay, I think that person does not need to tell that he or she is going to get a bonus if we buy the product. I am not going to buy it if he or she tells me that way. But if he or she just sells it straight forward without mentioning the reason, and it does tastes okay, perhaps I will buy it because it is usually cheaper compared to the one sold in normal market.

Knowing me, I would fall for it and buy the product. I'm such a sucker for such a thing! I don't usually stop to get the samples, so hopefully I wouldn't get stuck in this situation! I would feel sorry for the person and try to help them out though. I try to help everybody out when I can. Hopefully, they are telling the truth and aren't taking advantage of people!

It is funny.I used to be one of those sample people, and I did not get bonuses for amounts sold. The company I worked for actually paid higher than the other product demo companies. I know that the ones at Sam's Club do get $1 hour incentive if they sell a certain number. I usually avoid them. You can eat a meal's worth of calories and never know it happened if you eat the samples. I cannot afford the calories. I do not know about the ones at Wal Mart, as they are usually gone from their stand or they are chatting with people. In other words, they are not motivated to sell me. I have honestly never been offered a sample in my local WalMart.

I don't think that buying something you don't like would be a very good idea at all. Nobody would eat it, so it would just go to waste. I'd save your money for something more important or more delicious. They could just be saying what the are so you will buy the product, whether you believe it or not. If the person is really generous or nice, I suppose buying it would be okay, but only if it's something you'll actually eat anyway.

I might just leave it depending on what it is. I mean it really depends. I am open to trying new things and sometimes I find something I like enough to buy from a sample, so it is possible, but I wouldn't just buy something because of their sad story. I have little money too.

Similar incidents have happened to me. The teenager was selling ice cream and was practically begging us (luckily a friend was with me) to buy the product to meet his quota. Since we have to buy quite a large amount, we had to refuse him, otherwise we would have to deal with melting ice cream all the way home. For me, it depends on the situation. i will help out if the price is reasonable and the product is okay. I will turn away when i had to be extra frugal in some months, like when its time to buy new school books.

It depends on my mood, sometimes I can be a really big sap and take pitty on people and then other times I feel selfish and greety and it annoys me when people ask me for something like that. So it really depends on how nice they are and what kind of mood I am in. Sometimes I can be too nice and others not at all. Get me in a good mood if you want me to buy something.

Actually, that kind of sales tactic really turns me off. Who's to say that my car isn't in just as bad of shape. Do I need money any less than they do? Seriously, don't try and guilt me into something, that just gets on my last nerve. If they are offering samples and I like the product, I may or may not by the product. Usually I have a list that I have to buy and I stick to it.

If the product tastes ok and I think the person is trustworthy, probably I'll help him out but the probability of me helping him will only be like 1 out of 10. Reason is, I don't even know him well and I can't be so gullible so as to believe whatever he says. God knows if it was a marketing gimmick of his.

I would try the sample but that doesn't mean I'll buy the product. By testing that then I'll know whether it really is good or not. I never been in the situation where the promoter practically beg or even make a story like that. It would interesting if he/she does that.

Hi, Sometimes when I was in supermarket doing my grocery shopping, I did encounter some sales person who is offering some free food sample to try out, when I am not in rush, I will try out their new product and if the taste is good, I may consider to buy some to try it out together with my family. However, if the situation the sales person keep emphasize me have to buy their product which I don't like, then I will just say SORRY and walked away. Being a sales person, they don't have the right to force customer to buy their product,of course, they can have a good marketing skill to promote their product and convince customers to buy and try it out, which indirectly will boost up their sales target.

I have never had a sample person give me a sob story before, but if they did, and yet I didn't want the product, I'd say sorry, but not interested right now..

If someone is selling a product, i will only buy it if it something i am interested in. i probably would not make the purchase just for someone to get a bonus from it. i have to believe in what i am buying.

If it's not too expensive I would. It should be a win-win situation as well. While the salesperson gets a sale I should be able to enjoy the product too.
