Snagged

I was kind of starting my bedtime routine, tho I probably won't be going to bed for a few more hours, but I was turning on my bedroom light, turning on the ac, making sure the cats had food and stuff.
After I went and filled up the big food bowl and got another container of food for the bedroom, I heard Zhaan "yow".
I turned around and she had her nail snagged in poor Ping's collar.
I am not kidding you, Zhaan will swing at any cat who even LOOKS at her, none of them will bother her she's such a bad cat.
So, I realized that I'm going to have to go rescue Ping.
She KNOWS she's wrong and is trying to run away, but Ping is just hunkered down. She nearly pulls that collar off him by the time I get there and grab her. I pull her over, and see what has happened. Darn if that dumb cat hasn't snagged the metal loop, not EVEN in the collar proper! If she had just let up her claw would've come loose...
As soon as he's free, Ping tries to run off, but I picked him up and let him know he was a good boy. A moment of cuddles and he was purring and rubbing on me, I just want him to know he wasn't being a bad boy.
Ping is such a sweet cat, I'm glad the roomie wanted to keep him... he may technically be the roommate's cat, but he, and his brother Pong, are MY bed buddies!
So, do you have a sweet cat like our Ping? How about a bad cat like Zhaan

I had a black cat named Jesse that used to terrorize the other cats. If they did anything he didn't like or if they got too much attention from me (or any attention) he would attack them. I tried to pet the others when he wasn't in the room, so they didn't pay the price. He picked on one more than the others for some reason. They were so scared of him, they would let him eat first and everything. They would just sit back until he was done and walked away before they went to the bowl.

All my strays are sweet! Jack (one-eyed Jack, named by the neighbor) loves to be petted so much that even though he's hungry he'd rather have affection. I was sitting on the porch with him and finally figured he'd had enough after ten minutes so I told him I was taking the food inside, got up and picked up the bowl. He meowed and batted at the dish, asking that it be put down. Then he began to eat. Such a sweet cat, so hungry for affection!
He is one of many that know there's a sucker living at this address!

Hobo, once I got my hands on him, was really eager for affection. But I would put a handful of food out for him, give him some scratches and then I had to go in and wash my hands before going to work - not because he was so bad, tho he was quite dirty, but because I had handled the cat food.

I haven't had a cat in several years. I really do like them but I decided I can afford with the dog and the horse. I'm just glad none of these cats were hurt. At the same time, it seems a little comical to me, lol

I ee my second sentence up there didn't turn out right. I have been having problems with my computer these days not typing in words or letters that I typed at times. I meant for that to say that I decided I have all I can afford with the dog and the horse. Sorry about that.

I have a sweet cat, Tails is her name. We rescued her from a life on the streets. She is the most lovable cat. It took her a long time to trust us because she had been misused and abandoned as a kitten. She is a very small cat probably due to the fact that she was close to starving when we recued her. She was living in a dumpster and half crazed when we took her in. She was terrified of everything and would only come out from hiding when we were sleeping.
It took her a very long time but she did grow to trust us. Now she is even approaching visitors in our home, something she has never done before. She had been hiding when we have visitors. Now she approaches us for cuddles, she is so sweet. She is still timid, if you move to quick she starts and runs but she has come a long way from the frightened little cat we took in.
She is an indoor cat, we don't even worry about her sneaking out on us, she is terrified of outdoors. I have tried to take her out in my backyard with me but she hunkers all down and will not move. I have decided she doesn't need to be out it frightens her too much. I do open my upstairs bedroom window, which is screened so she can't fall out and she lies on the windowsill in the sun and gets fresh air.

Its awful the number of pets that are abandoned and unwanted. I know people who go through pets like most people go through socks. There should be a law against it.
My daughter volunteered most of her high school years at the local animal shelter. She would go a couple times a week and she also volunteered all day Saturday, except at exam time. She wouldn't leave until she took every dog there out for a walk and that was after her regular duties of cleaning and feeding the animals.
When she worked there one of her duties was to check the dumpster out back for kittens and puppies as people would go there after hours, in all weather, and dump little kittens and puppies in the dumpsters. This was so they didn't have to pay the fee to drop animals off which is $15/animal or litter. This is used to feed their pet while they try to get their pet adopted out. Terrible that a pet owner would not pay $15 to ensure their pet would be fed until they find a home for it.

Yes, I know, thats the problem I had with her too, she wanted to bring them all home. She especially loves dogs and she cried over everyone that was put down. They allowed her to keep all of the dog tags of the animals she helped take care of. She put them all on a chain that she hangs on her mirror in her bedroom.

I have no bad cats, I have an old one, and a strange one, and a lovey baby. The old one gets grumpy on occasion, and will snag anyone who goes by. My strange one will grab your hand and lick it and chew it, purring all the while. The lovey one does not bite, or chew. He will get right in your face and purr and lay his head on your hand, etc. He is a long haired baby who purrs almost constantly.

Yeah, my cat, Bean, is a big ol' sweetheart of a kitty. He loves everybody. He even tries to show my dogs that he loves them but they don't usually appreciate his efforts, naughty dogs!
My husband's cat, Bitsy, well, let me just say that I, along with several members of my husband's family, exchange the 's' in Bitsy to 'ch' because she really is one. She's the meanest cat I've ever known. When she's in a bad mood, she'll attack from across the room if you look at her wrong. When she's in one of her good moods, she just lies somewhere where she can see everything going on and just glares. Hoo boy! She's one mean kitty! Both of my dogs and my cat give her a WIDE berth when they need to get past her.
At times, not only my dogs and cat but also I have been trapped if she's blocking a doorway or hallway and refuses to budge. Her one fear is a plastic grocery bag so I make sure I have at least one spare bag in every room because I'll shake it at her and she runs off as fast as she can.
It was pretty funny here once because I was outside doing some gardening, maybe 10 feet from the front door. Bitsy ran out of the house, attacked my foot, then ran back inside the house. Well, I was in no mood to just let her get away with it so I went inside, grabbed a plastic bag and started chasing her all over the house. We ended up in the basement, in our spare bedroom, where she had run to the far corner, behind a chair.
Hmmm, now that I think of it, since that time she hasn't attacked me. I guess she knows I won't put up with her meanness anymore.
Stupid cat.
Actually, when we had her at the vet's recently because she was a very sick kitty with a urinary tract infection, I learned a bit about these mean cats. At least mean cats who don't have any obvious reason for being so mean. The vet asked if Bitsy was bottle fed. We said yes. My husband got her as an abandoned kitten before her eyes were even open and he bottle fed her. The vet said that bottle fed kittens generally form an incredibly strong bond with their feeder and resent anyone else getting close, including other animals.
So, she loves my husband but only tolerates me and that's only because I'm the keeper of the plastic bags.

Sleepy is my one and only. For the most part, he a sweetie pie. In fact, I've often said that we should have named him Lover Boy instead of Sleepy. Technically, he's my cat, but he frequently seems to prefer my husband. This is in spite of the fact that he (my husband) growls at him and hollers for him to get out of his way. That cat is so loving that I have often wondered that we should have gotten two cats so that they would have each other and not be so dependent on us humans for affection. Don't get me wrong.I love my cat, but I can't just sit and hold him all day long. I have things to do. I think that is why he sometimes seems to prefer my husband. He has more time to just sit and hold that cat. They even take naps together in the recliner. I do have one problem with Sleepy. Maybe another cat lover can help. Sometimes when we are not paying attention to Sleepy, he will bite. Usually, he just makes us feel his teeth, but he has brought blood. Less frequently, he will bite to show his displeasure.

it is an attention thing, Taj does it too, tho now he sort of pinches since he has no teeth...
Taj also bites from displeasure, again, not very serious...
I think in Taj's case, its because he was taken too young from his mother and no adult cat boxed his ears for doing so... Taj was found at 4 weeks in my front yard...

We have a little angel disguised as a cat named Rosie. She is an abused stray we adopted almost seven years ago. She is a timid little thing and she was afraid of men for a long time; she has just got used to my husband during the last year! She is a sweet kitty and won’t even bother with a pet budgie. Our other cat Hewy is a hairy handful on four legs! He is only one and runs around like a lunatic, has broken things, knocked the bird cage over and annoyed Rosie no end! Talk about opposites!

Oh, the shenanigans of cats! They do get into some crazy situations, don't they!
We used to have two cats, a female much older than the younger male. The male cat would pick on our female cat something fierce at times. They were both sweethearts really, but we had to constantly get after the male to stop him from picking on the female. I think it was a territorial or dominance thing even though both of them had been spayed/neutered. Fortunately, the female often took refuge in my bedroom and the male would rarely even venture in there at all. So she did have a safe place to retreat to. Perhaps it was because the female knew I would protect her there, and the male knew I would protect her too!
Otherwise, I never had a "bad" cat really and the vast majority of all the cats we've ever had have always gotten along quite nicely most of the time.
