Chocolate Club

There are a few chocolate clubs operating in the UK now. You sign up and pay a monthly fee and they send you chocolates every month. Admittedly these are gourmet chocolates but one advertisement I saw recently was a club that charges £18 per month. I don't spend anywhere near that much on chocolate and there's no way I could justify that kind of money on an indulgence. Would you join a chocolate club? How much do you reckon you spend on chocolate each month? We never spend more than £5 and we tend to buy dark chocolate (70% cocoa solids) because we find that we go easy on it only having a little bit at a time. How about you?

i have also seen the chocolate clubs on telelvision. we have been considering joining one at some point. we have been looking into one that was only £7 per month. Which I do not think is too bad, especcially if you get a GOOD bar of chocolates per month. We tend to buy milk chocolate rather than dark chocolate, as my husband hates dark chocolate. he doesn't like the dark / strong taste of it.

If I can afford it why not? I am a chocolate lover and get excited with this idea.

We have chocolate clubs where I live, but since I am not supposed to have too much chocolate, or any chocolate at all, I try to stay away from those clubs and stores.

I had one of their leaflets just the other day & I did consider getting the "introductory offer" for about £6 but, nice as they look, I couldn't even justify that much on chocolate.

I'm too lazy to join a chocolate club. I'd hate to think what I'd look like if I did.

I understand that a pound sterling is roughly four dollars. I would say that is the most we spend on chocolate in a month for straight consumption. From time to time I will buy more than that, for baking and such. Like you, I buy dark chocolate to eat. We had a ritual for some time of one square per evening of the brand we like. It has sayings, kind of like fortunes from fortune cookies, inside. Dark chocolate is supposed to be so good for you, and eating the one piece a night tended to take care of any cravings I had. Now, if I am in a store and I have missed a meal, I will sometimes buy a package of peanut M&M's, and melt them one at a time in my mouth. It takes very few that way to satisfy my hunger and help me finish the shopping trip.

NO, I would never join a chocolate club. Main reason i don't need that much chocolate . I love it but don't eat that much because i'm fat enough.

Hi hvedra~ I must admit I do love chocolate! But, I don't need to join a club to get some when the stores are full of all different kinds at all different prices! I can just about go into any type of store and find some sort of chocolate that would make me happy. I do prefer some of the "finer" more expensive types, but I can also be just as happy with one of the more reasonable chocolate bars or even "toosie rolls" which lately are my "favorites of the minute"!
