off my chest so to speak.I am soo fed up that the only time you see people from the local government is when they want your vote.Well tonight i had a labour bloke at my door, so i told him that the only time that they bother knocking on peoples doors is when they need a vote.I told him about all the promises that they give and none of which they have carried. Also all the housing problems that are about and people that do drugs and get income support, where as they should be made to find a job or do training as these people are the ones that have never had a job as well as do not want to work.I do not think that they will be knocking on my door ever again now, lol.

Hi dear,
My policy is reacting the way how they do. They come to us with a big smile and with a lot of promises and ask for vote. I do the same, give back a big smile and promise them with offering of my vote.
Now, when the time comes, they won’t do their promise and I even I don’t do my promise, means – I don’t cast my vote!!
People used to say, it is our right to vote and I used to correct it by saying ‘cast no vote’ is also is our right and by casting the vote right, we do a mistake and after collecting and winning through our votes, the politicians are getting higher profiled chances to do BIG mistakes with our permission.
So, I am on the way to not to vote.
Regards,
Thank-s

I told the bloke that i would not be giving anyone my vote and my reason for that was that they were still making the rich richer and the poor poorer no matter what they were.I bet by the time i had finished with him he was wishing that he never came to our door lol.Lets see if we get any more, lol,i am ready for round 2.

Hi dear,
If you cast your not or not, it will not make much difference for them and you. But you got a chance to express your feelings and attitude towards the elections. It is totally corrupt and they win or not, someone will come in power and they will continue doing what they want.
It is difficult for now to have a total change in the entire system. Because all the already setup and all these are happening only for the name sake. The more corrupt will come in power again and they will continue. If we talk about, there won’t be any end for it. It is sure that some people are really taking advantage of it and for some people this route is the way for their existence. Such people will never go back and they exactly know what to do and what not.
We, the common people are the sufferers of all such things. Because common man don’t have a proper unity and this weak point is their strength.
Regards,
Thank-s

I bet it felt good to get all this off your chest. I can't remember the last time a congress man, or anyone else in politics, came knocking on our door. You are lucky they came knocking once much less ever again. I think that around here just new ones go knocking. We have so many really well known ones maybe they don't think they need to.

I hear ya! I haven't voted for anyone in several years. I hear all the hype and think I have ones chosen that I will vote for. Then I hear more stuff that foul all the plans. So whatever happens I won't be guilty of helping set in motion. hehe

Good on you! I usually don’t bother to take the time to even talk to them although I may feel similar to you! Sometimes they need to hear the truth, not that it will make any positive changes but you never do know…If at least one thing got through...Nah! That’s just wishful thinking!

He banged really loud on my door,so that angered me and then when i got to the door i was in pain,so i took it out on him.I was fuming to think that they would even have the nerve to knock on my door all for the sake of thinking that they would get my vote.I am still not going to vote, lol. They do not listen to people anyway. But i do think that he must have wished he never knocked on my door.

Sounds like politicians are all the same. They have the same style wherever they may be in this world. You're very right, we only see them during campaign periods, they say all the sweetest things and promises and if they can give us the moon and the stars, they would that as well but when they won, you can't even see a shadow of them near your place, not unless it's covered by a TV station for some charity works. You can't even approach them without an appointment. To think, that our taxes is paying their salary. Go go go jugs, go get another one

They seem to only want to know people that tey think will vote for them and they think by calling on people that may sway a person to vote for them.I was going to tell him that i was busy, but i was in soo much pain having to answer the door to him that i was ready to give him some pain as well,he got a pain in his ear from me,lol. If any more knock on the door they are going to get a bit of ear ache as well.

GOOD!! haha =D And we indeed dun see people from local government unless election day or voting is coming soon.. haha =D With that, the government dun really intend to help us at all, they just want some sympathy vote from us to help them win.. hehe ^_^ So, in my case, whoever extends their help in that period of time, shall not get my vote at all.. hehe

I am glad you got that off your chest and that you said those things, hopefully they will listen to you. We have been getting phone calls every night around 8:00 PM, just when I have finally got dinner cleared away and the dishes all washed and I am ready to sit down and relax for an hour or two before bed then I get one of those stupid political phone calls, it makes me so angry.

Thankfully i am ex directory,so they do not get my telephone number, other wise i could hang up on them, lol.I am still not going to vote for any of them as they all lie as well as they only come to your door when they want your vote.We have had their fliers that they post in your door they go straight in the bin.

I hope others in your neighborhood said the same thing to him. Government needs to know how angering it is to see ones hard earned money go to deadbeats.

That's good that you spoke your mind and didn't let them shmooze you like (probably) all of your neighbors did. LOL. I've never had someone knock at my door, except for when Obama was running for US president, and some Obama college student supporters were going door to door for whatever reason (I guess they felt compelled to.. I always think that's weird). I voted for Obama, and knew I was going to, but I ended up lying to them, just for the sake of being argumentative, pretending I was a hardcore, right-winged, conservative. It was pretty entertaining all in all.

I bet there were alot of people that told them the same as i did. They do only knock on the doors of peoples houses when they want a vote, you never hear much about them after the votes until they want your vote the next time.Lets hope that they have got the hint not to come back.

I'm glad you told them this. That was a good way to get rid of them. I don't have a problem with people coming to my door asking for a vote. However, I don't like people coming to my house trying to sell me something (unless it's the Avon Lady, lol
). You keep trying to tell them that you're not interested but they just keep on rebuttaling.

I think that they all tell lies,so i do not vote any more. All they all do is make the rich get richer and then the poor get poorer. They all send money to other countries, knowing that this country need the money and that there are people still living on the streets.I feel soo much better for getting my dig in,lol.

Tomorrow is an election day in the US. Every time the phone rings it seems it is someone wanting your vote. I had 3 calls in an hour. Former presidents, the vice president and people running for elections this time tape their messages. It seems like every comercial on TV is an election add. None of them talk about issues, or where they stand on certain things, they just slander the other guy. I am so sick of it! I will be so glad when it is over and I am not the only one. They don't come knock on the doors and the calls are a recording, so I can't even tell them off like you did, but I would like to. Maybe that is why they record the calls.

Today was election day here. I didn't vote as I had an operation today, and spent most of the day at the hospital. I don't think I would have voted anyway! I usually just vote in the presidential election. Last time I voted by proxy because I have a hard time getting around. I am just glad it is over and I won't be getting anymore phone calls. All that is on TV tonight are the results and then that's it for a few months anyway. A friend of mine said she started getting them July 17th. She thought there must be a special election, because it was so early!

It is good you let them know just how you feel. I have done the same as you. We have a right to voice our opinion, there is nothing wrong with that. It is true many promises are made and not kept. Some because they simply cannot get through the house. Some because they simply made a promise just for a vote and nothing more.

If you do not tell them how you feel then they seem to keep going on and on and on.The bloke that came here banged on my door,so i had to answer it,so by the time i got to the door my son had answered it and he told the man to wait as i was in agony trying to get to the door,so when i saw who it was i was fuming to think that i had put myself in pain for him.

Now doesn't that just feel so good? And you sure did tell him about all the problems too, and you're so correct. They only do come around when it's election time, otherwise, they don't bother and they really don't care. I'm sick of all the bullcrap already and all the lies.

Good for you!! Besides not voting for them, getting things off your chest is always such a relief.
But it wont change, they'll promise more and more and will do less and less. We need a total change in government, yours and mine. Start out fresh with new ideas and new ways of doing things.
Bet you feel so much better now lol.

It's good to be able to sound off to a politician. We never get any call on us. Leaves me with an interesting thought. If they don't canvass, and Parliament is often more than half empty, where the hell are the rest of them?
