"If you could change a part of your body, what would it be?"

I detest this question C; I know, so why post it right? I was just using Facebook and I came upon this question, I get rather annoyed every time I see this because why would anyone want to change their body? You can make your body fit, but unless you perform a surgical operation you can't change it! I feel sorry for people who go into cosmetic surgery (even when they're already gorgeous!), a beautiful face or body wouldn't change what you feel you lack inside... It's shameful that normal people would ask this or answer this when I know a lot of handicapped people who are happy with their existing body parts...and even they would only wish for normal body parts...

I am impressed. Your responders have read the whole discussion and not just the title. People can focus on the negative and make it loom much larger in their minds that it really is. When I was younger, I always thought my nose was obnoxious and ugly. It is funny, when I met my first husband, that was one thing that he thought was beautiful. I also, as I grew more mature, realized that people do not really look at the parts of us, but at the whole package together and how we project ourselves. Beauty is really from the inside. People who are always feeling negatively about themselves make others see them negatively. I still think you will find a few people responding to the discussion who will only read the title and will respond, without checking on the "inside" of the question.

So far I haven't met any members who answer to my discussions that just read the title, well I'm a newbie, and I'm glad because I'd be all worked up if that happens ;C I had a laugh when I got to read "I always thought my nose was obnoxious and ugly" since I also felt the same thing, I have a very small nose and I find it hard to find a right fit when buying sunglasses (I never thought of changing it though), and it bothered me that my nose was small when my siblings all got nice noses...but your right, my nose may not be perfect but hey, over all I think its what makes my face unique C:

I agree. Beauty's really only in the eyes of the beholder, andwe definitely should be thankful for what we have. I'm visually and hearing impaired, myself. And I'll give you a perfect example about myself. I have one eye sunken in. I did have a partial prothesis in my left eye, but I would walk around with mucus oozing out of my eye, it was disgusting! Everyone tells me to get a "fake eye" in but I tell people that I rather look clean and disabled than dirty/gunky and normal. I mean it's humiliating when people came up to me and tell me that I have stuff coming out of my eye and I didn't even realise it!

I admire you... It's amazing that people who have impairments are usually those who gets to accept themselves as they are... ...have a wonderful life Masihi C;

Well, for some people, it's the self-confidence that they lack, that's because they want to change their body part. I admit I'm one of those, I want to change my nose if I'm given a chance. I want to improve it and make it look prettier. I'm just not confident about it.

Well, I wouldn't change my body through cosmetic surgery, but I don't see it as something wrong. If we are lucky enough to have a body with no problem and we are not happy with the way we look externally, nowadays it's possible to change it. Of course, it's a risky way, as many people die in plastic surgery procedures, but you have to accept the risk if you want to change your appeareance. However, I dislike when people do that not to please themselves but to please others, like all of those women who get bigger chests to please their husbands. If they married, the husband should accept the wife's body as it is, and never ask for something like that.

can cosmetic surgery really please them? hmmn, maybe your right and I suppose your also right to say that people should only get cosmetic surgeries to please themselves not other people...

I agree that it is a silly question although I spent years wishing I could change parts of me I did not like. As I’ve grown older I have learnt not to place so much importance on looks. I tell you what really changed my way of thinking; I saw a woman on one of Oprah’s shows who had a baby two months prior and caught a very serious infection which forced the doctors to amputate all her limbs. This woman is amazing with the attitude she has towards life; all she wants is to be with her husband and children. Watching someone going through what she has puts things into perspective. The other day I was having negative thoughts about some broken capillaries on my leg feeling self-conscious until I had a thought about the woman I saw on Oprah and what she would say to me, “At least you have your legs!” I realised then that I should be thankful for what I have and stop wishing for things to be different!

If I can change my body, I want to have flatters abs. I am no to satisfied about it but its really hard to make it flat.Honestly I am not the kind of person who crazy about sport I just do it occasionally. The only regular exercise I do is when walking my dog but its truly can not made my belly flatter. I never think or surgery because I know how painful in will be and I don't like to stay in hospital in any form. Hospital is the place I don't enjoy much and I will not go there if not really important.

For me its not bad if you wish to change one part of your body. Me??if i will be given an opportunity, i would like to change by belly part and of course my complexion. I am not saying that i want to be really white but i only want to be in a moderate white and moderate brown, something like that.. GOOD DAY!!
