I just can't make up my mind on this matter, I can't seem to choose the best response especially at discussions where many responded, so is it a must to choose the best response? Why is it that there are discussions here that has no best response and it has been around for years?

Although it is not an obligation, if you do not select a best response then if you look at your unresolved discussion tab you will see all the discussions sitting there. Selecting a best response however does not mean a discussion is closed as myLot has them here and readily available for anyone infinity to respond to them. Some members do not select best responses while others do. I can imagine members no longer being active and never selecting and or members just simply not selecting. Picking a best response and figuring out amongst several which one, what I do is select best response then give the (+) to all others who stand out great.

I think it is a matter of moral on here that we are asked to do the best responses. There isn't anything I have read in the guidelines that tell us we have to do them how ever. Sometimes I am negligent in doing them and don't for along period. I really do not think it is a real big deal but it does make others feel good and so we continue with it.

It is not a must, I do not believe, but it is flattering to receive one. I tend to choose the ones that best reflect what I was thinking at the time of the discussion. It is harder if there are a lot of responses, but it lets people know that you are reading what they write. I think I have some unresolved discussions, but I used to go at the end of the month and resolve them all.

There is no hard and fast rule to say that you have to choose the best response. Only when you want to resolve your discussion that a best response is given. I still have pages of discussions unresolved. But will come to them later.

You give a BR only when you feel that the person who gave the response deserved it, his response was detailed and well-explained. It's when you feel that his/her response was helpful and gave very good insight to the discussion.

I think that it is always hard to make up your mind who to give the best response to, also if there are alot of people that have responded then it is hard to chose who is the best response when they are all really great responses.I try to keep up with all the people that have responded to my discussions as well as respond to alot of discussions that my friends have started.

The system doesn't force you to do it. I myself am so far behind that I will never get caught up. But it's a good thing to do. People really appreciate that you took the effort to do that.
