I wont stick to them. That's just the way I am, I have no will power. But hey, I can still try and that's exactly what I will do. For 2011, my resolutions are: 1. Quit smoking for good. I've been trying on and off for years to quit and have never had any luck at all. It's not easy and I know that, but I will give it another try. 2. Stop eating junk food. This is a terrible vice of mine and my husband knows it, but does nothing to help me with it. If the temptation isn't there, then I wont be eating it. However, my husband brings junk home, and when I know it's there, I eat it. I'll continue reminding him not to bring it home. 3. Lose the weight I've been trying to lose for a couple of years. Again, this is a real challenge. I've lost about 12lbs since starting last November, and that's not at all what I've been aiming for. I had been aiming for almost 70lbs in weight loss during last year, but it clearly didn't happen. So this year, this is my goal. I am going to stick with my workouts and not stray from them. 4. Save up money so I'm not suffering paycheck to paycheck. I've done that for far too long and I'm tired of it. So I will change this and develop a budget and stick to it. I don't think I'm being unreasonable with my resolutions, but I still have to stick to it and make sure that I follow through all the time and try not to slip up at all. Who knows, maybe I'll get through the year and have achieved all I've set out to do. Happy New Year everyone.

I don't usually make resolutions on New Year's Day for the same reason you mentioned in the first line. With that said, I think you shouldn't force anything. Make your resolutions and TRY your best to keep to them. But, if you fail, don't worry about it. As long as you gave it your best, no one can ask anything more from you. One of these years I'll get to making a resolution or two. It might involve getting a girlfriend that loves videogames as much as me, haha. Good luck with your resolutions!

Thanks. The key word is try, and that's what I'll be doing. I'm sure you'll find someone.

Herro kris182_2000 I stopped setting resolutions years ago. I've changed to a goal setting (in writing), larger ones as well as smaller ones. My initial goal this week is to publish an eZine at APSense. My second goal is to earn an online income this year. I have set 1Mar2011 as my action date. I am involved in some webinars and they help me keep myself accountable. I am also a member of a marketing team, we help each other by encouragement. See the difference between resolutions (IMHO - setting myself up for failure) especially with all the negative discussion on failing resolutions. So, I set goals and ask others to help me stay accountable. Prosperous Mylotting

I usually do not make resolutions. I do start out with some intentions and I would say except for the smoking, yours and mine match pretty well. Since they are my intentions, I feel free to regroup, and start fresh any time I need to. I have not lost all hope if I do not follow through, I just pick a new starting place, like the first of next week or the first of the month, or the first thing in the morning.
