I was tickling my nephew last night when I fell into a vent. Yes, I fell into a vent. I bruised and scraped my leg, there's a knot in it too but other then that it's fine. I think it's pretty funny actually. Anyone else already injured themselves this year? what did you do and are you okay? Did you require stitches?

Oh so you just bruise easily. maybe just the simplet little bump does it and you don't think anything of it because of that.

Thank God I haven't injured myself yet. Although there was a time when I nearly fell down the stairs. Good thing I got a grip on the handles.

Was the stairs outside? I'm trying to imagine if there was concrete or brick or if it was hardwood / carpet. Either way sorry to hear that you almost fell but am glad that you in fact didn't.

The stairs are just outside the apartment. The rubber strips protecting the edges of the flights were loose and I accidentally stepped on one of them. The strip failed and my foot slipped. I was climbing and I nearly fell backwards.

I have not done anything out of the ordinary yet this year. Hubby did. No stitches, though, he just scraped his ankle while trying to put some insulation on some pipes in the basement.

He scraped his ankle ont he pipes I assume? Ouch. The ankle can bleed alot no? Atleast I think it does as I've knicked myself there before. Sorry to hear that but glad he didn't require stitches.

I haven't bruised myself this year (well apart from the usual clumsiness and running into tables and such) but I did fell off my bike a couple of weeks ago! It had snowed and now on the streets where the cars had driven, there was this leftover dirty snow. It was sooo slippery, and I fell. I still have this bruise on my leg now, and it still kind of hurts. I didn't think it was funny at the moment. I didn't need stitches though! But falling into a vent, wow, that's never happened to me before!

haha oh I'm sorry the bruise still hurts. It reminds me of when I fell down a waterfall trying to climb up it. A guy almost had my hand then bam there I went down. Ouch and I didn't go back up that trip! But I'm sorry you fell off your bike. Have you ever gone over the handlebars?

You sure seem to fall a lot. :D So do I... Over the handlebars? I don't know. If I did I definitely don't remember anymore!

I'm trying to get a mental image , and reenact what happened. More detail is needed. Were any of the parties involved inebriated? if not, did you wish you were after this event went down?

Just a small vent. There was a rug over it and a piece of cardboard that was taped. Funny I think the cardboard says "Do not bend" lol... Uhm I was just tickling my nephew, nobody was inebriated and nope didn't wish to be as it didn't hurt that bad, though drinking can be fun.

Not lately. This post reminds me of the time I slipped on the driveway. It was a couple of winters ago, I just finished shoveling the driveway, and there was still a thin layer of ice on the concrete. We were going out, and everybody was waiting for me in the car. I was making like I was ice skating on the driveway with the thin ice. That was when I suddenly saw the sky, and slowly I realized I was slipping. Then I hit my head on the ground and I decided that it wasn't funny.

Sorry to hear about your close encounter with the vent. But, a better question might be, when haven't I injured myself this year? Actually last year was a big clutz filled year. Our trailer floor is subpar, having been water damaged over the years. And, I fell through the trailer floor in the hall at least once when the floor finally gave way and the linoleum (which was the only thing holding up the floor at that point) snapped and gave way under my foot. I didn't think I had hurt myself at the time, and pulled myself up and went to get something to cover the hole. Just felt like my foot had slipped. But, by the time I made it to the kitchen and looked down, I had a gigantic bruise on my shin, which means my leg went through the hole and UNDER the trailer! It freaked me out. My leg throbbed for a very long time. We boarded up that entire section of the hall floor with boards, but it still needs more work. And, that's going to take money. But, no more cheap particle board floors for me! Nothing but real wood from now on. Though it may just be cheaper to buy another used trailer and move.

I haven't hurt myself but my grandson fell off his bike and hurt his ribs on his right side and his right shoulder. He didn't say a word about it until the day after it happened. We took him to the hospital to have x-rays taken and they showed he had no fracture and just said that he could take some ibroprofen for the pain.

I sure did I stepped on a nail while I was out feeding my animals. I had to go and get a tetanus shot and be put on antibiotics for a period of time. I did not require stitches but it was not easy to walk on it for a while.
