I've been up to doing all kinds of things lately. How about you?

I kept loosing my clothes pins. So I made a clothes pins holder for my clothes line. I took a large plastic cottage cheese container (after I used it for four meals, a scoup plus a different canned fruit per day), washed it out, and put the clothes pins in. Then I poked a hole in each side, cut and braided a plastic bag for a handle, and then brought it outdoors. I put one side of the handle in, tied a note inside, threw the handle over the clothes line and then put the other side of the handle threw and tied a knot. Now I have a clothes pin container that's at the point of usage. Also unlike cloth bags, I shouldn't have to replace it every time I turn around. It's very windy here and the weather can be quite severe. So I'd have to go find it in the woods in the spring at the worst and at the least keep making a new cloth bag because it would be all torn and clothespins would be on the ground. That was a few weeks ago and so far, it's staying on the clothesline and keeping all my clothes pins safe and right where I need them.
Trying to clean my house. Both my husband and I are. Terrible how behind things get when people get sick. Now my cats' are sneezing. I think they caught it from us!
My birthday is coming. I want to have people come over, so the place needs to be clean.
My husband's mom is in her 70s. She was born in February, too, but at the opposite end of the month. She has no teeth and she loves soft cookies, so as I make some cookies, I put a few away for her in the freezer. Before we go visit her, I will defrost them.
I'm hoping the weather is great for the parade in Saranac Lake. February 12th, they will have their winter parade. The weather has been too terrible the last few years to go. I'm hoping it's better this year. The theme is Midevil times this year. That could be great!
Staying by the phone, hoping someone will call either my husband or I for work. I've gotten some, but not very much. Carved a very anemic looking mushroom for carving class. Glad I'm not being graded. The pinecone I tried to carve looked like one after a squirrel has eaten half of it. I'm not quite getting some of the concepts. You'd be amazed at how long it takes me to carve the simplest things and they stil aren't coming out very well.
I find the lady who carves golf balls very interesting. I didn't even know you could carve a golf ball. The inside rubber ball part. I saw a few of hers. She told me to Google golf ball carving and you'd be amazed at all the different carvings people make with golf ball insides.
Bought underwear, socks, and medicine since I wrote last. I won 50-50 drawing at carving class. The $13 I won helped me buy another carving tool. I hope I'm better at carving with a gouge than I am a knife. Wish me luck. I learn how to use that tool in February, 2nd Tuesday.
I made a couple of key fobs that were pre-cut out, all I had to do was stamp them and dye them. Gave them as gifts.
Resting, trying to get my strength back. Guess I'm not the only one. Seems like many people are complaining that this last illness has been rough to come back from and many are on inhalers, too.
So what have you been up to?

EXCELLENT! Congrats! Just did that in October. Big weight off my shoulders. Now we need to pay for the taxes, but we've been taking the $ we used to use for the payments and keeping them in the bank for taxes. Eventually, we will even have a slush fund for emergencies, if things work out.
Hope you get the house in your name soon. Things could come up. . ..

apparently I seem to need to go to probate court and get it done, don't understand why, but if its paid off, at least that's one load off my back!
yeah, we have been paying insurance and taxes as part of the rent anyway, so we are still going to put that money away (all of it) tho it looks like I might be having to look at a new car too...

Ok, I get it.
Bummer about the new car. We have someone in this area that sells used ones at half the price of other dealers and they aren't lemons either.

Well, you are busy after sickness. Great idea for a clothes pin holder. My Grams just used an old baby dress. Sewed it on the bottom, put a hanger in the top and used it. I certainly hope the cookies are defrosted before your MIL gets ahold of them. Haha
Golf ball insides? Hmm. As I recall they are a bunch of stuff with string wrapped around it. As far as what I am doing--Not much. I have S.A.D. so my days tend to merge together. I sleep alot, eat, watch tv, go shopping and let my daughter do most of it. What a life!

We went to a few degrees below zero and I hybernated. Only way to stay warm was to bury myself under blankets and a sleeping bag.

Yes, I know of the older balls. Sickness is no fun. Hope you are much better soon. Hybernation is definitely what I feel like doing. Pretty much am. The showed one day this week. Now it is getting cold here too. Ugh!

You really have been busy! It sounds like you're having fun with that carving! LOL Enoying it is what it's all about anyway.
I didn't know you'd been ill, I'm sorry.
I'm trying to finish up an apron I made by hand just for fun and contemplating some yarn - maybe more socks or another pair of house slippers. I wear out the house slippers regularly because I wear them all the time. Let me see... I haven't done anything in comparison to you, but I have been working off and on, so that takes up time.

I've been thinking about learning how to make socks and/or slippers myself, for the same reasons. It seems like a person goes through so many!.
Aprons are neat. I need a bib! Between cooking and eating, I stain a lot of clothing.
I haven't been all that busy. Do something, then rest, do something else and then rest. Coming back from this illness is killing me.

Yes, carving is fun. Frustrating at times, but fun. What's in my mind and what I end up doing are two different things.
I still have one more thing for the Drs. to find and help out with. When the tests come back, they're supposed to see me. Then maybe I won't be so run down. Take care.

Man, you put a lot into this post. I have been just basically on my computer, although I did a lot of cleaning because my daughter came to visit. I am doing some reading, some baking, just hanging out, looking for work. Neither hubby nor I are working right now. I made my first sourdough bread from homemade starter. I am ready to think gardening again. I have been wondering where you were. As far as clothes pin holders, I used to take a bottle with a handle, like a bleach bottle. Put drain holes in the bottom, cut out a hand size opening on side away from handle, and at the base of the handle cut a slit across so that I could slip a line through and it would hang on the line. We recycle and do what we can, that is for sure. It is time for me to make another batch of laundry soap as well. Cottage cheese makes a really good herbed bread as well as being good to eat.

Actually I do not remember if it was bleach or vinegar. I use absolute gallons of bleach, in the dishwasher and instead of fabric softener. I like to make the dough in the bread machine, then bake it in the oven. Most all the online soap recipes call for borax, washing soda and bar soap. The first time I used fels naptha, which is good, I think I have Ivory this time. Just have to grate it. I like how the homemade cleans, even in hard water. I went this route because I started itching. Other than home made, I like Shaklee, but this is cheaper.

Now vinegar bottles I have used a lot of. But in our area, we can recycle gallon jugs such as water, vinegar, and milk just like we can recycle newspapers. We can't bleach, they don't want those so that tells me something.

I didn't even write about all the Dr. appts. I've had lately. You just wrote a lot, too. You're just more efficient at it!
True, a bleach bottle would work. I seldom use that kind of bleach, try to stick with hydrogen peroxide since the other kind can kill septic tanks, etc.
Yes, I need to get going and get more laundry stuff. I'll look for recipes online for making my own laundry soap. I usually buy hypoallergetic dermatologist tested due to my rosacea and the rest of my skin.
I used my bread machine the other day, too. Mostly for bread dough, deep fried bread dough, bread sticks, and monkey bread or cinnamon rolls (I'm not very good at the last two, they seem to come out tough). Thanks and take care
