prepare the food. He gave me $50 for food. But he gave me three 20s. So I asked him if he wanted 10 back. He told me to buy myself a present. I suppose I should be insulted, but I'm not.
So what do you think? Would you be insulted? What would you buy? I'm buying socks, candy, and a card.

Yeah,my car did run all the way there. Good thing. The alternative could have been a 6 mile or more forced hike/march.
Glad you're in such a happy mood today.

I would not be insulted because I would look at the entire $60 as the present. Without it there probably would not be a day of fun.
Have a wonderful party writersedge!

Not to worry I have been called worse.
I have a tendency to go fast at times also, misspelling user names is the least of our worries.

Morning, writer's! I think in times when money is tough, and the economy is in a tail-spin..giving you the choice of what you want is a lovely gift. I, so dislike getting "things" as gifts...things that I have to find a place for, pretend that I like or would use. My dear boss, bless her heart, always buys me "things"! From her travels, she has brought me home a picture painted with a fingernail...but it goes nowhere in my home...another picture made from paper quilling...a snail watering can..and my dearest departed MIL, always bought me the latest gimmick seen on T.V. (many of them in a drawer) never to be seen again. No..now you get what you want, with the warmest, fuzziest thoughts. Enjoy..and Cheers!

Yes, I will enjoy those socks since I used a bunch of my old ones as rags. Now I really need socks. I also had a little left over to buy a little bit of candy.
I don't know what to do with pictures either. If people want to give you pictures, why don't they give you a picture of themselves?

I wouldn't be insulted, but 10.00 to buy me something? I'd probably save it for something bigger...
Not that big though, most items I look for online are under 25.00. I did recently purchase a wall mounted mirror for 10.00, that was a bargain..

I need socks, so ten is a good idea. I'm also gettting 50 bucks for food, too. So I can't complain. A wall mounted mirror for 10 was a bargain. Great! Thanks and take care.

You're right, if I needed socks, I'd probably do that. But I do more online shopping since I don't have a car, so I'd have to ask my husband for the car to get the socks. So I really would have to have that need before I did that...

I would be alittle insulted and probably tease him alittle about it. I might buy something you could both enjoy. Hope you have a nice birthday.

I got a little box of Junior mints, too. They didn't have very many of the socks that fit me at the $ store.

Well, 10 for the present and 50 for food. Considering he's unemployed and I've gotten 3 days for work this month, I'm happy he had any $ to give me. It's not like it's Christmas.

Yeah, I had fun. I bought myself a card, some chocolate, a card and a bag to put it all in, too. $ stores, you can do a lot with $10

Good lord no I wouldn't be insulted the card and socks alone would cost more than 10 dollars here. The card alone would be about 6 dollars with tax. Have a good birthday!!!

We have $ stores. I probably shouldn't buy from them, but I do. We have many Canadians who come down and buy things here because many things are cheaper.

I don't think you should be insulted about the $10 because wouldn't he be getting something else too? He probably didn't realize what it sounded like and just thought it as a nice gesture for your bday. I'd make him cook though - I mean it is YOUR birthday, right? He should be using that $50 to either get take out of taking you out.
