I am watching television at the moment. And you will not believe me that mayonnaise could be alternative for hair treatment. Mayonnaise is recommend by a sexy actress here in Philippines that she is using Mayo for her hair treatment. I could see the outlook I tell you and its really shiny indeed. But awful smell is there. Which she said it will stay at least 3 days. Both sexes can used this treatment. I might try this on my day off.

This is news to me. I think it will do good to my dry hair. I have lots of mayonnaise sitting in my fridge and never know that it has other uses too. Thanks for the info.

I have used it on my hair before and it really works. I don't use it all that often but I sure like it when I do. It is also good to use on the leaves of your plants.

oh no you can have the mayo head. I did that one time and it took an hour of washing and rinsing to get the crap out of my hair. oh sure glossy hair and I smelled like a salad without the veggies. I kept getting asked, " w hats that perfume you are wearing? makes me hungry" by my patients and one doctor said:" I must be hungry as I smell polonaise" oh my never again. I was late to work and stank like Miracle Whip yucko for sure. Coconut oil shampoo will do the same but washes out and leaves a pleasant odor not a stench of miracle whip;.yucko.

Um...Miracle Whip is not mayonnaise. I would not use Miracle Whip, either. If you look on the jar, it says "Salad Dressing" not "Mayonnaise". Mayonnaise does not have the vinegar smell that Miracle Whip does and, in fact, has very little smell at all. Maybe that was your mistake. LOL

I have known the benefits of mayonnaise on hair for many years although I have never used it, myself. Now that I am old and my hair is losing some of its youthful bounce and shine maybe it's time I did, eh? Thanks for the reminder. By the way...do you know if it makes a difference whether I use the canola mayo or the light mayo or just have to use the original standard mayo?

i could do with my hair looking healthy and shiny, well it certainly does need something doing to it as it looks quite dull and boring. I have a load of mayonaise in but would rather use them for melas, my hair would stink and so i would not feel comfortable doing this. Maybe if i was at home and not going out it may be worth a try, but not when i have people round or im due to go out. Also it is not a gaurantee that it would work on all hair types.

What don't you try since many and celebrities recommended it.

it may be worth trying, but celebrities do recommend many things that don't really work

I have heard about the benefits of mayonaise on hair years back.I tried it a couple of times but it seemed that there was not much change on my hair. I also had a bad experience with this too because there was one time I fell asleep while having mayonnaise on my hair and I woke up having sticky, smelly hair with ants on! So I'd pass on the offer of treating hair with mayonnaise nowadays...

Doing mayonaise treatment less effort but doing this in a sleepy mode will surely attract ants

It seems like if you put that in your hair then shampooed it out it wouldnt smell but it would also take the effects of the mayos helpfulness out as well. Thats interesting though reading peoples comments that they left you. I may just give it a try the next time I have smoe mayonnaise that is getting close to the use by date and I want to use it up quick. I have really long hair it would take a lot to coat my hair with it. I actually like the smell of mayonnaise so I dont think the smell would bother me at all but it might make other people wonder why I smell so strongly of it lol.

lol =D I wont wanna try it for sure, because i dun want my hair to stink! lol =D I would rather use coconut oil like indians, than mayonise because it might attract ants or houseflies to my hair instead.. lol =D On top of that, mayonise has got butter in it, and that's gonna make the hair so oily, thus explaining the shine?? lol =D

Wow that's very unique and new to hear that. Mayonnaise is very tasty and I just love it and I don't think I will put it in my hair. The smell would be too dreadful and after hearing that it will last for 3 days, I won't give it a try. I think I will research about it a bit more and then maybe give it a try.

Really? So we can just put it on after shampooing liek conditioner but I'm sure it smells... and it probably will get very oily, isn't it. I think I might give it a shot.

You want to put it on before the shampoo and wash it out. You need to leave it in for at least 20 minutes...it's like a deep conditioner, not regular conditioner.

I have heard about that several years ago too when Thalia Sodi was still popular here in the Philippines then . She attested to using Mayo on her hair which makes up for the shine. I may have tried that but as you say its so awful smelling since it has a better use that of placing it on sandwiches or salads. I do love Mayonnaise but not for hair.

Actually I heard in the past from a friend of mine that applying mayonnaise is good for the hair, it makes it look more radiant and shiny. But personally I have never tried it, I don't know something about applying mayo doesn't quite motivate me. I could just imagine the smell, it might drive everyone crazy in my house. LOL

Mayo has been recommended for hair for years in the US. However, I do not see myself putting mayo in my hair. It just sounds gross. I will just stick to the regular conditioner. If we put mayo in my spouse's hair, the rest of it would probably fallout. (HA, HA)

If you don't want to try mayo, you may want to try olive oil. It's more expensive to buy but you use less of it and the shine is unbelievable...there's no smell and you can leave it in. It's not as gummy as many hair treatments. My daughter started using it on her difficult hair (she has the tight curls of many African-Americans) and the results were phenomenal!

My friend tried the mayonnaise treatment on her mother once. The lady was nauseous while the treatment was on her hair but she didn't say about afterward. I guess it did help her hair be not as dry as before.

A nurse that I used to work with would put a stool softener medicine on her face at night and clean it off in the morning. Her skin is amazing. Sour cream is also useful for soft skin. It's been a while since I tried the mayo for hair treatment but I don't remember any drastic results. Its mostly useful for extremely dry hair I guess.

Hmmmmm. Sounds logical. I don't think I'd mind the smell, but I wonder if it would also leave your hair and scalp kind of greasy? Someone told me that's what happens if you use olive oil in your hair anyway. I do love natural remedies for the body, it's worth giving it a shot. We can always shampoo it out anyway, right?

Hi syoti: I have'n known this. I love eating Mayonnaise. It's delicious, specially for my burguer but I didn't knew that people can use it for other purposes. However, I don't like the smelly part. ALVARO
