Pausing part of a site, have you ever heard of that?

I've heard of sites being temporarily down for repairs or updates, but pausing, that's news to me. Alchemy on Etsy in being "paused" for now. The "pause" was since February 5th. That's a long time for repairs, updates, etc.
I think it might be because many people were breaking the rules. But I miss alchemy. People came up with some interesting requests like snake walking sticks, custom made wedding bands with a symbol the bride, groom, or both made, or other ideas they had. But the ones that violated the rules were often asking for things that would violate copyright laws or for really cheap versions of things that are already out ther (which is probably also a violation). So they may be trying to figure out how to stop such requests. Many were found and deleted. But some may have gotten by and could be a danger to a site that is supposed to be for creativity and originality.
So do you know of any sites that are updating, going through repairs, or pausing? Do you miss the site or the part of the site? What changes do you think they're making or hope they're making? Why do you think they're doing it? Upgrade, go with current www, http, https or other standards? Thanks and take care.

I hope they come up with something soon. I really enjoyed the ones who asked for things they drew or from ideas in their mind. I really loved the end results. Some day, I'd like to actually help someone out, too. So what's your store on Etsy?

I have to admit, I still have not gotten really familiar with etsy, although I have some things that I would like to list in a store.I am on Gather and it updates or upgrades suddenly and with now warning, and often it ends up with glitches when it does. Did you go ahead and open an etsy store?

One of the things I personally would like to sell is vintage linens. I have some table cloths and such that I find at thrift shops. I am actually supposed to act as listing agent for my entire family and keep a percentage. I have some wonderful crocheted hats my sister has made for me to sell. My son does chain mail. My brother would put stuff in, and so would my daughter.

Here, that can mess with unemployment and such. Also I don't have a tax ID#, didn't need it for farm products (food) and bakery goods, but for stuff, have to have and I have friends who say that's a nightmare. Take care.

You are throwing the tough ones at me this morning...LOL! I am so glad this is a HUGE community with tons of brilliant people. I hate to admit, I have NOT visited either of those sites (and I'll bet they are good if they are your favourites) as other than myLot, I spend toooooo much time on Care2, which deals with Animal/Environmental/Human issues...where I earn butterfly points, and can purchase with them (deeded) rainforest property! Don't get sunburnt...but enjoy, ENJOY!

So far I've gotten the mail, put garbage and recycling out, shoveled snow, put out my laundry, I keep finding reasons to be outdoors.
Alchemy is neat. After a person accepts another's bit and idea proposal, the item is made, sent and a picture was posted on Alchemy. The pictures are gone, that was my favorite part, to see the results of what a person's ideas were and what the artisans and craft people came up with. My favorite, I think you would have loved, paintings of animals and sea creatures from all over the world to go in this person's house. The result was awesome!

It's been since Feb 5th, so I would think they're changing it a great deal or have suspended it entirely.
