More things lost on a dark road are found under the street light. This is because that's where the light is. I've been thinking about this ever since I heard it on the Science channel. So many times we complicate things that have a simple answer.

Yeah we very easily overcomplicate things in life. Its so much more enjoyable to allow things to find their way into your experience, instead of finding different ways to try and force out more complicated and intrinsic answers.

Yes pat,God said Let there be light and light came. All darkness went away. We are in the dark. The light of knowledge will show our path. We will find out our lost things. Lord Buddha said, make yourself light and find out path by that light.

Well yes... You have a point there! We often compicate things but we are not very aware of whatwe are doing right?? Most of the time we have been in the dark too long to even think what we are looking for are just thre and we can see it...

This thought can be distantly related to Occam's Razor, don't you think? I tend to wrestle with the solution to a problem by going at it in the most difficult way. When really it will end up being quite simple. I must really work on looking at the simple first.

This is very insightful savypat. This is I say reality to what is actually happening to most people. We are complicated people and we cannot just be contented with the simple ones so we look further not aware anymore that we are already searching blindly in the dark. This is a good thing to ponder about. Have a nice day!

Thank you for sharing this, savypat. :) I'm guilty of this myself. I tend to complicate things a lot believing that if I got the answers by formulating the most complex solution, I would feel more fulfilled. I've always thought that it's a lot "cooler" if I actually do something complicated just because simple things are things that average people do. Along the way, I realized that it wouldn't really matter how I solved or did something. It's what it made of me that really counts.

Interesting thought here, and probably one with a lot of Truth since most of the time people go looking for something in the dark when there is light around. Might make for a good place for people to find a lot of interesting things that people have lost or left behind. Also a good place to check the next day if you lost something in the dark. Problem is so many of us tend to want to make this more complex than it is.

A beautiful and elegant explanation for things. I know I complicate things in my own life. When I do have that chance to walk under my own "street light" things become very clear and I am able to solve what had seemed like a difficult problem at the time.

I love the way you put that, very well written. I agree that we humans do have the tendency to overcomplicate our lives and I think that a lot of the times it is because we don’t have the patience to allow the Universe to open opportunities for us or to sort things out for us. We tend to get in the way sometimes by being overly attached to results and trying to fix things for ourselves prematurely. Sometimes you need to just let got and allow thing to happen for you as they should.

That's true. When we are so focused on the fact that we are confused, we get trapped there. Best to have an open mind.

Pat- I agree. If people would simply say what they mean and mean what they say things would be a lot easier. Namaste-Anora

We do when we're young. The more complicated, the more fun it is. As we grow in age, we seem to not want to complicate our lives anymore. Im right there now......give me simple and easy. lol

Those are good thoughts, so many complicated questions really do have simple answers, but there is another side to it, what happens to those things lost in the dark and not really under the street light?. I think it is inherent in man to always find solutions, and go beyond what is simple, accepted etc.. and simply venture out to the unknown as excemplified by the dark and by doing so complicates things, but guess man is also blessed with the ability to perceive when he is already getting into a too complicated situation and his tendency would be to simplify, hahavery difficult logic
