What do you think about traveling across the country/continent in a motorcycle? Would you like to do it like the movie "Motorcycle Diaries"? Have you ever done it? I think it would be nice to see everything all in the open with the wind blowing in your face but I also think it's pretty dangerous!

Although motorcycles can be fun for some, I am deathly afraid of them. The one time I got on one was when my brother in-law the motorcycle expert said don't worry you will be safe. This happened about 4 years ago. So no sooner he rides off with me on the back and gets 1/2 a block down the street and bang right into a parked car, causing my tiny self to fly off the back, bruising and scraping my legs and arms.
It was my first and last time I will ever adventure on a motorcycle, no matter who the expert thinks he is. lol.
I have not seen the movie, but have to admit a movie like that I will see but not the actual ride.

I would enjoy riding on the back of a motorcycle for awhile but I think I would get sore after awhile. It would take some getting used to. I used to ride when I was younger. It was fun. Even exciting. Often wondered why I didn't bugs in my mouth, nose, eyes and even ears. Ugh!

I watched "The Motorcycle Diaries" with three friends at the cinema in the area I used to live in. I very much enjoyed seeing the South American scenery and the men had an exciting journey. These days it would be a hard core motorcyclist that would attempt such a challenging journey. In some situations there could be danger. I saw a documentary about a motorcyclist that had been kidnapped on his journey. I love traveling by train most of all. I like to travel by bus. I am happy to travel by plane. I travel with my disabled son and baby daughter. When I was a teenager I had a moped but lorries made me feel unsafe. I sold it and am now glad that I have learned to drive and have a car.

This does sound like quite an adventure for a motorcycle enthusiast. My in laws used to travel quite often all over the country on their motorcycle and really enjoyed these times together. I am not a motorcyclist so i would have to pass on this experience. @rameshchow (4426)

It is very good revolve the country on a motor cycle.
For that i will choose a motor cycle with good mileage.
Mileage is the factor i considered when i gonna buy any motor cycle.

I have been on a lot of trips and they are a blast. Sometimes I would be riding behind other times I was on my own bike. Either way it was fun. I have a wild streak and riding is one of my passions. I will be going on a lot of short trips this summer. You should try it.

Hi Lore
I did drive on my bike for a distance of 1200 Kilometers - a 5 day journey - that involved crossing 3 states of the country. It was rainy season (quite a wrong time for such adventure) but I had to do it because if it wasnt then, it was going to be never. I opted using the road and the bike instead of the train.
Me and my brother on the bike. We halted during the nights and checked into the hotels that were on the route and the next day again, we were on the roads, driving. It did bring us closer to our country as we saw different localities, different people and also different cultures...
A truly unforgettable experience

Hi,Lore2009!
Well, that's what we call "adventure",right?I think it is pretty awesome.I haven't seen this movie, but I bet it belongs to my favourite kind.I haven't done it personally, though I always dream about doing so.My friend in Boston,U.S. once did it on a bicycle, but not through the whole country. He just rode from Boston to New York.He had amazing experiences.I hope in the future I can do it in a car or something and travel across the whole country.
Have a nice day!

We were talking about this a few nights ago but we don't intend to do this on a motorcycle. We want to do it on a vespa scooter. It looks hip and homey. hehehe... That is if we own one already. We are planning to buy one this year and try to explore the provinces on it.

To a person who likes to drive a motorcycle, traveling across the country would be very enjoyable. My husband was planning to tour around the Philippines using his motorcycle. That's interesting.
