Why do I have to postpone my comments so long?

Hi,all my friends!Since I became one of the myLotters,I've come here as long as I have time, even before the several minutes to go to work. But all because of my bad English,I have to take notes before post the comments for your good responses, there are too many sparkling words, phrases or sentences that can help me a lot in all your responses.Do not laugh at me,please. I hope nobody else has to do that.

Hello Oldsix. Actually I like participating in your discussions because I see that you give efforts to respond back as much as possible to our comments and I appreciate you for that. Just try to express yourself here and you have friends that are willing to help you improve more on your English. Have a nice day friend.

I think earning is fun while we are learning.

As long as u are able to comment back, it would be good enough. I have met many starters of discussions, whom don't even bother to comment at all. I know u are a regular commenter and starter of discussion, so i'm always patient towards u. Don't worry about that because we all have lives to live outside of mylot, and everybody's understanding of english is different too. Do appreciate your effort here.

Nobody's laughing. I think that it is great that you've found a way to work around your handicap of not knowing the language perfectly. I don't know English perfectly, either, and it's my native tongue.

Don't let language put a barrier on how you can express yourself. Just say what's in your heart, in the way you can and there will be no problem at all. You don't need polished words to send through your thoughts, just honest and pure intentions of joining in a discussion of your choice! Good luck and have a nice day!

That's really a great advice! And I like expressing myself honestly and shortly,I don't like starting any long discussions.

Oh, nothing to be ashamed of. This is quite normal. In fact, proofreading before posting is a very good practice.

Fortunately I am a bit like you, I am a Xhosa(One of South African Languages)meaning English is not my language. But because we need to communicate with everybody in the world our country(SA)takes english as the International language, meaning communication with everbody who cannot speak our languages.

We are not expected to write bombastic English here, so who cares if you write direct translation from your mother's tongue. Why waste your time in having to write in a pad before typing it on your keyboard. I dilly dally my comments because sometimes I want to respond to my friends discussions first before commenting to my own discussions. Afterall, we aren't given any time limit to comment. I have even commented to my one year old discussion.

Hi oldsix, I don't mind if a comment comes late. If you need to take time to look up words to say what you really mean, it is a lot better for you than just scratching something out and finding out later that it was all wrong! I try to keep most of my writing pretty simple, but sometimes that is hard to do. Just keep responding and all will be fine!

You are under no time constraints here in myLot. I admire you for your efforts in learning English. You do quite well. I do not think I could learn another language at my age. I did know Latin at one time and can still do some small translating, but it's not as I could do earlier in my life.

Oldsix, never worry about your English skills here. As members of myLot no one is suppose to make fun of any members difficulty with the language. It clearly says that in the guidelines so do now worry about that. Do you best sweetie and comment back when you can. I am very happy when members do comment back, it shows they care about being a member on the site. Some new members come here with the wrong idea, because no one earns unless they type. Some of them feel that if we respond to their discussions they are earning and so not true. So the best you can and of course we will encourage you to continue being a good myLotter. Best of luck!

Your English is OK. As long as you can make your point across, you shouldn't worry about a few mistakes. However, taking notes isn't a bad thing at all, it'll help you improve.
