OKAY! WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!! Gas Strike March 10th! This worked once before...let's try it again. On March 10 if everyone does not buy gas for one day, it will hurt the oil companies. It's time we stood up to them. We CAN have a voice...REMEMBER "MARCH" 10th DO NOT BUY GAS! Please repost this to as many people as you can...it is urgent that this spreads like wildfire! PS: Try not to fill up the day before or after so that this day will have an impact on the companies Thanks

Yes, I remember hearing about a 'gas strike' before, it didn't work then, it won't make a difference now. It is not going to 'hurt' the oil companies by doing this for one day. Not only that, but it would have to be nation wide, for days to even have any effect at all. And as far as that goes, let's hope it doesn't happen. Because while it is a good idea, at least for personal vehicles, I would hate to think of fire apparatus, ambulances, and other emergency vehicles joining in this strike.

hi palonghorn emergency vehicles cannot do that so do not worry.they must be gassed up and ready to go at any second. so no worries on that point.

apparently we are doing the same here in my neck of the woods but it will be on march the 15th. i have gotten several emails from friends regarding this. here in canada where i live, our gas is up to a $1.21 per litre. its crazy how much these companies are charging and getting away with it!

Hey where are you in canada? I am on vancouver island and ours was at 122 but went down to 121. The emails I have been getting are for the 10th. I wish people could really go on an all out strike. It would make things even better if we could get the gas stations to close the pumps for that day too.

hi nanajaner here in Californina my best friend Nelda who has to drive a few miles to and from work says the gas prices are nearing $4.00 in some places a gallon this is real highway robbery as people here do communte a lot to larger cities like LA TO work. I am not a driver but love to see everyond do a boycott for several days so it will really hurt the gas companies. Now its March 11 so wonder how many mylotters followed suit on the strike. Hopefully it just might help. lol.

I know that we have had more than enough but how will this hurt the gas companies? You still have to bu the same amount of gas. You either buy it March 9th or March 11 All you do is put it off for one day. It won't change the amount of gas you need to get to work or the grocery store or appointments. Now if you live i the right place you could walk to work or the grocery store. But so many of us don't live close to our work place or grocery store. We don't all have public transportation either.

I don't ever remember this working before. If it had, it would have been all over in the news and the papers. Is it a good idea? I think kind of. The only problem is that people need gas to get places. Would you want to call up the fire station and they say sorry we can't come we have no gas in the tanks and we couldn't fill up today or yesterday same with the police aor an amulance. The other thing is, do you really think one day would make an impact on the companys? You'd have to put gas in your vehicle sooner or later. I guess I don't complain about the price because I know if I want to go anywhere I need the stuff. It might make me drive a little less but not that much.

I'm not buying gas, but then again, I'm not going anywhere for a while. I haven't gone to a gas station since Monday. Our prices up here are over $1.25/liter and it's almost as bad as it was in 2008. I posted that same message on my Facebook profile after seeing it a couple of days ago. While it makes sense, it probably wont do anything. We rallied a few years ago to boycott our transit system, but it did very little for us, they refused to cancel the fare increase, so I'm not sure that this wouldn't have the same effect. The oil companies will still sell the fuel, it's the gas stations that need to refuse to buy from the oil companies in order to make a real difference. The oil companies set the prices first, then the gas stations, but only after they buy the fuel. The daily price is good for 24 hours. When the price of oil decreases, notice that the gas stations don't lower their prices that quickly. They're trying to make a little bit of money for themselves since they make very little profit to begin with. Now if every driver in the world didn't buy gas today, that might make a difference. Everyone would have to take part in this venture.

ya it sounds like a good idea, but the only problem is that after that day the gas companies still make that money for that one day. the only why that a gas strike would work is if it was a nation wide thing and it was longer then one day. the longer people go without getting gas the more money the gas companies will lose. I'll do my part, but i know that these things most of the time really don't change things that much, but you never now.

To stike for one day is not good enough. The is a need of an organized public out cry against the speculated inflation of Gas prices. people need to voice their fustrations in any or every available public media. These rising prices is madness.
