1. Is it ethical to YOU? Why or why not? 2. Do fetuses have the right to live? 3. If you are a female and you were raped and became pregnant, would you abort the fetus? why or why not? Does the fetus/fertilized egg have the right to live? 4. Is abortion murder? 5. In your view, what will your religion say about abortion if abortion will save the mother's life. Will abortion be the right thing to do? I want to go at the bottom of this, please state as much opinion, ideas you have. thank you. Enjoy the discussion!

I think a woman should have the right to abort a fetus if she wants to. A woman is in control of her own body and if she can rationalize doing this then she should. She alone has to live with for the rest of her life. Not her parents or the clurgyman of any church. Abortion can be termed as murder if someone really wants to think that way. And it does give those fighting against abortion a very good soap box. If abortion will save a life- DO IT! For all the children in this world who have no love in their lives, stand on a street corner and throw rocks at cars, and those who have a gang for a family, lived in foster families, and shot both their parents I say to you--Ghee! What happened to you?!

Too me it's ethical to a degree although I myself would never wish for my partner to have an abortion as I do feel like it' killing an innocent child even if the parents are considered to be too young and so on their are so many people out there who'd love to have the chance to be a parent so why not put a child up for adoption rather than end their life . If someone is raped it's again down to each personal opinion I myself can see both sides of the story on why some women will keep the child whilst others not at the end of the day the child did no wrongdoing but it's a case of a long-standing memory within the women among other factors. My religion is against abortion but I believe my religion has so many contradictions that I don't fully believe in every belief I'm taught of. If abortion will save the mother then I do think it's a necessity unless the mother really wants the child to live but I personally don't like the idea of a child's birth being the reason a mother has passed away imagine passing that guilt on to the future kid but then again a child needs to live to experience such an emotion .

Religion might be complicated but religion is what most laws are based on so I think sometimes what is the difference between a religion and a government. Anyway, Is a fetus a child? Is a fertilized egg a child?
11 Mar 11
I don't really think religion is all that complicated I just think it's contradictory in so many ways so I don't think religion has any right to involve itself in the decision of an abortion. Government may have their own morals but they tend to have their own separations from religion. A foetus forms the child of a human so essentially he/she is a child an abortion is basically killing another human.

Abortion is wrong in so many ways. In countries where young girls get pregnant, they're often forced into illegal and unsafe abortions, their very own lives are in jeopardy. An illegal abortion can kill a woman if done wrong. Think about that one. Now, even though an unborn fetus isn't quite human yet, think about what would have happened if your mother had an abortion when she was carrying you. You wouldn't be here today to have this discussion now would you? In a world where people are pro choice, the voice that cannot be heard is the one of the unborn. Unfortunately that one has no choice, no say in the matter. That being said, I would only agree with abortion for 2 reasons. 1. The pregnancy could kill the mother or baby. 2. The fetus is so malformed that it has no chance at a normal life. Aborting a fetus just because having a baby wouldn't fit your lifestyle is murder. You should have thought about that before having unprotected s3x. Aborting a fetus because you were raped really isn't a valid reason. The fetus had no control over how they were created, when they're born and grow up, you don't have to tell them the truth until they can handle it. One of the 10 commandments is "thou shalt not kill". This goes for unborn babies as well, unless circumstances warrant it.

I agree with a few things you say but abortion due to rape is legitimate reason could you imagine growing up with a child of someone who raped you? I think that would terrible and just think how the child would feel and hearing you tell them later in life? I do think abortion is wrong but I can see the argument in such a case. With your comment on the ten commandments I think that commandment is a bit contradictory giving the fact that many of the Lords prophets are recorded as killing others in various different accounts.

Think about it. Where would the world be today if Mary, the Mother of Jesus, had an abortion?

Back in those times there are very few population that giving birth is something people look forward to. Imagine if your were in Mary's situation, you are jewish and for an unknown reason you got pregnant, what would you do?

Since I am Mormon, I do believe that abortion is definately wrong. In my opinion, it is considered murder. You are killing an innocent child. A baby should have the right to live its life yet to come. Also, I believe that abortion isn't the right thing to do, even if the mother may die. I'm not saying anyone deserves to die when having a child, I'm just saying that if you decide to have your own child, you should really think about it first. You should think about what you are getting yourself into. It is a big responsibility and many terrible things may happen. Lastly, the big thing is that if you are raped, should you have an abortion? Well... This is tough even for me to answer. I would say you would have to make a huge decision. If you are worrying about God thinking wrong of you, I would say that he could forgive you completely if you were under those circumstances. That is up to you. Some would say that you are still taking a life, and other will say that you shouldn't put your child through the pain of knowing that they are a child of a rapist. I hope this helped! Please feel free to ask me further questions.

I forgot to add, if the mother is in critical condition, again, it is up to the mother. If she is willing to risk her life or not, God will understand either way. It is tough, this is why you should think everything through and wait until you are ready.

Abortion is a no, no for me. It's the same as killing and it contradicts the law of the church. God gave us our life and the life of the baby inside your womb, you don't have any right to kill it whatever the circumstances are....God has many reasons for everything and it is stated in the ten commandments...Thou shall not kill. It's a mortal sin.

1. Abortion is murder in my opinion and it isn't ethical. Sometimes the reason would be for social or economic and these are the most common reasons. The more challenging reasons would the the baby was conceived during an attack or the mother's life is in danger. In those sad cases I believe that an abortion should be possible. In the case of the baby being disabled then I think he or she deserves to live. 2. A fetus does deserve to live. Who knows if a really special person has been aborted. The aborted people are the missing people of the world. The clock can't be turned back however much the lady regrets her abortion. 3. If I was attacked I would take the morning after pill to try to prevent getting pregnant. If I did take that and still got pregnant I believe I would let my baby be born. Then I would have him or her adopted. 4. Abortion is murder but up to 24 weeks pregnancy in my home country it is legally allowed. I was offered an abortion at 36 weeks pregnancy due to severe disability. I said no way and let my baby son be born. He is now a happy little three year old. 5. I am not religious but I respect other people's religions. I think that if a pregnant lady has her life at risk and she continues her pregnancy then two people could be lost: her and her baby. Therefore it is worth letting her live if an abortion will save her life. I am totally against abortion for myself. Of course if the lady's life is in danger then it is wise that the doctor tries to save her even if it means her baby has to be aborted. I feel sorry for a lady that conceives in an attack therefore her choice is what matters. If a parent to be finds out her child is disabled she should be able to meet other parents of disabled children and hear about support. The disabled baby should be allowed to be born and not aborted.

1. Yes, it's ethical. It needs to remain a safe and legal right for any and all women who want one. If you don't like aboriton, then don't have one. Plain and simple. 2. The mother in me says yes. The woman in me says no. I know what I went through with my pregnancy with my DD and to force someone to go through what I did plus the labor and delivery is just cruel. I did it because I wanted to. I wasn't forced into doing it or anything. To tell a woman "NO you can't have an abortion!" is forcing a woman to do something she doesn't want to do and isn't that slavery which is outlawed? 3. Yes. I'd abort it. 4. No, it's not. Murder is defined as the illegal act of killing another living human being. Since a fetus at the age most aboritons are performed is neither considered "living" or a "human being" it is not murder. Most abortions happen within the first trimester and before the 10th week, therefore the fetus could not survive outside the womb. It's not human. 5. My religion doesn't say specifically thou shalt not abort. My religion says thou shalt not kill. My religion also says thou shalt not covet they neighbors' goods and yet my husband is in love with my neighbor's HDTV. We all sin, but it's a question of which sins can you live with and which can't you live with? I don't think I could ever abort a pregnancy unless it was a rape baby or my fetus was too deformed to live. I'd never put myself through the trauma of carrying a rape baby nor would I subject my husband to raising a rape baby or subjecting my DD to having a rape baby as a sibling. In short - I support it. I don't think I could ever have one as every pregnancy I could ever have would be with my husband and it'd be a wanted pregnancy.

Hi gorilla, Abortion has been a big debate in every country and in every religion and about your points these are my views 1. Yes it is ethical for me as i am pro choice, If a person dont want to have achild he shdnt be forced in to one. 2. Yes if they have a working heart ie if they are more than 13 weeks old 3. If i was female yes i would want abort because otherwise the child would remind me each and every minute about the traumatic experience and also that child would not be a result of love but force. 4. No it is not for first 13 weeks of pregnancy 5. I think Yes

As me, we should keep the baby even any reasons. Because this is a real human. If we can't feed him/her, we can give to another person who will care him/her. We can broke it if the it make being dangerous for mother's life. This reason should be the only reason!

I am pro-life, definitely, I am against abortion. It is life that you are taking away. However, if it endangers the life of the mother like in ectopic pregnancy, then it can be an option. This is inevitable indeed. Means and ways would depend on the act of abortion. If you just reason out that you want to take away the unborn child even if it does not cause you any harm, then you commit murder.
