PLEASE READ THE NOTE AT THE TOP OF MY REPLY TO THE FOURTH POST! Thank you! Camouflage is one of nature's best tricks of self-protection. There are so many ways to do it, & this is one of the most elaborate--& beautiful!--ways I've found. You know, a few years ago someone produced a very good "documentary" style film about fire-breathing dragons that postulated that they were real (but hunted to extinction by man). This team of "scientists" find 2 dragon corpses frozen in an ice cave in some high mountains, as well as a couple of eggs, I think, & gave it a scientific study, showing how the breathing of fire actually worked, & how various kinds of dragons evolved, sea dragons versus other kinds, for example. It was so well-done that by the end of it, viewers are left thinking, gee, maybe they really did exist! The mid-air mating scene of 2 full-grown dragons is nothing less than breath-taking! I'll bet you could find it somewhere on-line & download it. It's well worth the hunt! Just try Googling "dragon documentary," & I'd bet you a dollar to a doughnut you'd eventually find it! PLEASE READ THE NOTE AT THE TOP OF MY REPLY TO THE FOURTH POST! Thank you! Yes, I hear they really are very small. I think they're so delicate & graceful! If I could afford a huge tank, I'd put a couple in it, along with other pretty water creatures. But I'm too poor, & I don't even have the space for the size tank I'd like to have! Sid! Sorry I missed your reply for so long; my computer's been acting especially weird. I think it's caught a virus...keeps dropping stuff--losing email! Forgetting tabs & URLS!!! I couldn't even get into MyLot the last few days...sigh. I hate computers, don't you? Or are you one of those who was born to operate the ornery little beasts? Not I! I'm blessed if I can just get one to turn on! Re the quotes, they aren't meant to underline anything said in my discussions. I change them at random--& I have quite a collection! I get a lot of comments on them, & I appreciate every single one. So I'm very glad you like them! Catch ya later! I like all kinds of Dragons too and I am adding these ones to my list so to speak. Secondly I have just discovered that you tube is working for me again I can see the Videos now too I will favourite that Video when I can. Are they only seen in Southern Australia or are they elsewhere too? Have never done Scuba Diving but to see things like that it´s well worth it don´t you think? Thanks very much for that one MP have a great Day.xxx

So far as I know they're exclusive to Australia, except for a few found in zoos, but of course I'm not sure; I only just discovered them! Someone is sure to correct me if I'm wrong! Yeah, I couldn't afford scuba diving, but had I possessed the money, I would have done it! You have a good day too, hun! Maggiepie "Deep experience is never peaceful." ~ Henry James

The leafy sea dragon one, so pretty looking. The other sea dragons are neat, too. Those are cool. How did you learn about them? I never knew they existed.

PLEASE READ THE NOTE AT THE TOP OF MY REPLY TO THE FOURTH POST! Thank you! Oh, I was just doing a sort of on-line version of "steam-of-consciousness" (SOC) searching, & tripped over it. I'd never heard of them either, & was immediately enthralled & smitten! What do I mean by SOC? Well, that's a psychologist's term to describe where one writes or talks while allowing the mind to wander freely, one thought ricocheting off another, to see where it leads you. Surfing, for many people, is SOC in the virtual medium. Some others, instead, have strictly specific goals each time they access the net. I employ both, as I think most people probably do, but it's nearly always the SOC method that--you should pardon the pun--nets me the really cool stuff such as this topic. It's also very relaxing...I get into the Zone & nearly veg out, but it's an alpha wave state, so I am still aware. Unless I actually do fall asleep... By the way, it's also how I produce my best stories. I've actually gone to sleep once or twice, & awakened having written part of a story! And when I'm in the zone, I lose all awareness of myself, my body & my identity, & get totally into the story, crying if something tragic happens, feeling fear or joy, etc. I'm also that way when I paint. Sometimes I'm pulled from the Zone with the same expression on my face that I've been drawing! In both cases, I often work for over 8 hours without feeling tired, hungry, or even hearing the phone ringing. I love being in the Zone! You're a writer; do you like the Zone? You had me at 'Dragons'. I've been collecting dragons for years. However, I had never seen this type. They are really something, aren't they? A perfect design for survival. Thanks for the links.

PLEASE READ THE NOTE AT THE TOP OF MY REPLY TO THE FOURTH POST! Thank you! I have a friend in Houston who collects them, as well. I've given her one or two... If I had the money & space, I might hoard a few, myself! Oh, & I have a friend here in Austin who loves dinosaurs & dragons, & he collects stamps. Especially stamps with dragons & dinosaurs on them! This type is new to me, as well. I think they're so lovely! Maggiepie "The smallest feline is a masterpiece." ~ Leonardo da Vinci

SORRY FOR THE DELAY. I'VE BEEN TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS! I SHOULD GET TO EVERYONE'S POST BY MONDAY EVENING, TUESDAY AT THE LATEST! Thank you for your patience! It is amazing, yes! I really enjoyed the music, too; it was an ideal choice by the video maker! So dream-like.... Do you mean sharing a video link is "a great way to capture (your) interest?" I can do that! I am the Queen of bookmarks, baby! One of these years I need to tackle organizing them...though it may already be too cumbersome a task to handle in one mere lifetime! Be wary of bookmarking; it's addictive! Though I guess there are worse addictions one could have... Maggiepie "When I feel inclined to read poetry, I take down my dictionary. SORRY FOR THE DELAY. I'VE BEEN TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS! I SHOULD GET TO EVERYONE'S POST BY MONDAY EVENING, TUESDAY AT THE LATEST! Thank you for your patience! ALASAKANRAY: I was so surprised when I stumbled across it! And I was simply spellbound during that lovely mating dance. They are so unreal-looking, like something from a fairy tale, or other fantasy...so delicate & so gently graceful! I'm pleased you liked it! I'm always open & hunting for neat stuff like this. So it's very nice to be appreciated. Thank you! Maggiepie "When I feel inclined to read poetry, I take down my dictionary. The poetry of words is quite as beautiful as the poetry of sentences. They are beautiful, aren't they? I have never seen sea dragons in the wild, but have seen them at several aquariums, and they are just breathtaking. (I saw one yesterday at the Adventure Aquarium, as a matter of fact). The videos make them look larger than they really are; they are actually very small and very delicate!

PLEASE READ THE NOTE AT THE TOP OF MY REPLY TO THE FOURTH POST! Thank you! I couldn't tell from the videos that they were small; I had nothing with which to compare them! But I did suss that they were very delicate, & they do seem like something that a larger frame couldn't support, I mean, those "leaves" look so wispy...fairy-like! Whatever, they are so lovely. How fortunate you are to have seen them so closely! Maggiepie "The smallest feline is a masterpiece." ~ Leonardo da Vinci
