Had cavity walls insulated

Oh my, what a noise having the work done. After a whole hour and a half of the noise i was glad that they had at last finished, also knowing that we will never have to have that done again as well, makes me feel so relieved. This winter the house should be warmer as well as cost less on the heating bills.I will say that the two men that did the walls were great, as they had to move a weight bench and weights to be able to do one of the walls, as well as move my daughters car away from the wall, where they were working.

Have cavity walls insulated? It's good during winter because it brings warmth. WHta's going to happen in the summer? WIll it cool down the house? IF so, i would say it's money well spent. I agree that hetaing bills would decrease by alot due to non usage of heaters and electricity. IF i'm in your shoes, i won't insulate my walls, as i prefer cold weather to warm.

I have to try to keep warm as best as i can, so this was a thing that we had done which never cost us anything. Also it can even put the price up on a house when selling it, so it was well worth the noise if you ask me.I did notice that on the cooler evenings as well as nights that i never had to have my heating on at all.

It's worth it right? haha =D Short period of noises in exchange for long term warmth in the house.. hehe ^_^ I never know that walls can be insulated in this way? I guess it's common in countries with 4 seasons because over here, we got only 2 seasons, and no matter how cold it is, it won't be at the level of spring even.. lol =D Good for u!

We have noticed already how much warmer the house is and that is really great on a colder night, as we have not had to put any heating on at all, where as before we had the walls done we had to put it on.

I know what you mean, although I live in a country, where I do not need any isolation for winter, but, a couple of years ago, I had to replace the ceiling on my house, and it all was a crazy experience, with dust, disorder everywhere, and of course, noise, I was thankful when it all stop.

I was really thankful when the noise had stopped, as it went on for ages and after a while it was just getting too loud.I am pleased to think that i do not have to go through that again and that we will be saving money on our heating bills when it gets to the winter months.

Thinks sometimes the best thing to do is go out and leave them to it. I would much prefer to see a neat tidy finish job then the mess they make whilst doing it!

Our house really doesn't have the best insulation that I've ever experienced. However, I also think that things could be a lot worse for us. We still have some insulation that we need to put in the attic spaces of the house, but we've gotten it done on the upper attic space and just getting that done has made a lot of difference in the cost of keeping our house cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

I am pleased that we did not have to pay for the walls to be done, as it would have cost alot of money. We will be saving alot more money in the winter, as we have already found out that even on a night where we would have normally put our heating on we have not had to put it on, as the house is really hot.

At least your house will be warmer in the winter. Also you will save alot of money as well on the heating costs.I saved loads of money on my heating, also with will i hope make your health be better as it will be a constant heat, rather than from cold to warm to hot.It will also put the price up on your house when it comes to if you want to sell it.All plus points for putting up with all that noise for that amount of time.

You are right about the house now being alot warmer, as we noticed that of a night time, as we had been needing the heating on until we had the wallls done.I am in credit by miles on my heating bills, so in one way we will be quids in and we never had to pay anything towards the cost of the walls being done.Yes it do put the house price up if we want to sell it as well.

.. wow.. that reminds me of the year our math class.. had jack hammers.. going every day in the hallway.. not a wonder I never learned any math some days it bothered me other days i was fine with it.. the hammering and wood sawing never irritated me that bad but growing up they kept adding onto my parents house and my brother in law kept trying to wake my up with hammering when he got close to my room and laughing I grew so used to it I slept right through it at times.. odd I can sleep throw hammers and saws, but not kids yelling, and jumping around on the floor :)

It was horrid all the noise that they had to make to do the walls, but knowing that they will never have to do it again is great.Knowing that the house is already warmer is great, as i know that in the winter the house will be warmer than all the other winters that we have had.Saving money on the heating bills will be really great.

It is always great to get home improvements done. I am glad for you, but like you, the noise would have been a bit of a bother to me.I am glad that they did a good job too.

I did not even think about the summer time and keeping the house cooler, i was thinking of the winter trying to keep the house warmer and less of a heating bill.

I can only imagine. Thank goodness it is done, huh? I wonder what they fill it with. Now you should be toasty! I wonder if it will be cooler in the summer months too. It will be interesting to see if it is. Nice to have these things done.

I am thinking of all the money that i will be saving this year when it gets to the winter. What with the house being warmer in the mornings as well now, it is really nice.Thankfully it did not cost us anything to have it done, so that is even better.

I am glad you got extra insulation and yes, it should help with the heating bill next winter. I think that so many home loose so much heat with not enough insulation.

I have noticed that the house is alot warmer when it is cold outside, as i have not had to put any of my heating on.It is great knowing that the walls have all ready made a difference to the warmth, so yes i should save loads of money this winter.

Congratulations on that. Although, I really wish I could do something to make my place cooler, besides using the air-conditioner, of course. Cutting the bills is strictly one of our priorities here.

What with all the electric as well as the gas prices that are constantly going up, we decided that this year we would have it done.I was thinking more of keeping the house warm in the winter, did not think about the summer, keeping the house cooler. At least i will not have to worry about ever having it done ever again.

I guess you don't have any choice during summer but to use air-conditioning after all. There's no other way. That or put a bucket full of ice behind an electric fan.

Getting people to do small jobs here in India is a nightmare. So I collect enough of them and add a new one too so that these guys have something to attract them to my house.

I am pleased that we have had all the noise from the work being done and i will say that it is well worth it, as when the evenings and the nights were chilly, we never had to have the heating on at all, where as normally we would have done before we had the walls done.

I'm glad that they did such a good job. It is always good when people are done with things. It can be a little hectic with all the changes of having people in your way or dealing with the noise. You have a good week!

That's really great that it was done so quickly and that no bumps along the way to delay it any further. I suppose that at times that type of work gets delayed but glad you finally had it done. This will also help keep the home cooler in the summer.

I had been putting off having the walls done, but this year we decided to get them done.I am happy to think that i will never have to sit through that noise ever again, as it was really loud, as well as it was a constant noise that lasted over an hour and a half.Lets hope that if we get a hot summer that it do help to keep the home cooler.
