I alwyas enjoy meeting new friends from the other countries because it is a way to learn from other culture and different thinking pattern as well. Unfortunately, I found that discrimination do exist from different countries with different color as well. There are alwyas some nationalities alwyas think that they are superior than others and they don't really wnats to be friends with the other foreigners as well. Well, I think if we can treat others equal and humble oourselves a bit more, we can enjoy more frinedship from other countris and also learn more good things about their countries as well. If anybody who think that they are the best in this world and need not to interact or build up freiendship with other people are actually a lack of wisdom in their own mind. Unforuanately, there are still some peole keep on thinking like that everyday. Frankly speaking, I think multiculturalism for a country is good if the government of each country like that can really traet everyone equal in their country. But I know that sometimes it is just not too realistic to think it that way anyway. Well, we can't cahnge other's thinking, but we can change ours and traet peopl from the other nations like our good friends at least. What do you think?

First, I'll say that I have lots of friends from other countries. But first I will talk about the discrimination. Working at the amusement park, first I saw it by race when I was a younger kid. I have worked at the amusement park about fourteen times over the years from 1967 - 2009. In the sixties, seventies, eighties, and nineties it was race. Now, I see foreigner substituted for Black. I remember the Thai girls who came to work with us. They split the girls up and made one of them work with me and she didn't like that. Later, she found out that the place where her friends worked, treated them badly. We treated her good. Years earlier, when I first started working with foreigners at the amusement park, I saw how many of my American coworkers did not like the foreigners. My coworkers lied on the foreigners. They called the foreigners lazy when the American workers were lazy (in Psychology it is called "transference." I've seen enough hatred towards foreigners that I could write a book about it. Most of the foreigners I met at the amusement park are now my Facebook friends. Of those friends, I have two friends from Romania, three friends from Poland, one friend from Malaysia, and two friends from Singapore. I'm amazed that the friends from Singapore are Christian. I learn a lot from all of them and I enjoy it very much. I had a young man from Israel "friend" me on MySpace. He is an Ethiopian Jew and he is now my Facebook friend. I see from him how dangerous things are in Israel and I try to comfort him that God and I are with him regardless of how badly the world thinks about Israel. And now I have a good number of myLot friends although I don't communicate with them like I do the Facebook friends. Thus, my philosophy is that we are all on the same boat (planet) and we either sink or swim together.

Hey, Rob. How is it going. It is you again. I think discrimination are jsut everywhere and We can't change what others wnat to to think, but we can still change our own attitude towards all our foreign friends.I USED TO HAVE MANY friends from the other countries as well when i was still in Canada. But after I left for many years and i HAVE LOST ALMOST ALL contact from all the people I knew before. Anyway, it would be fun if I can meet them in facebook again. I tried but can't find anyone.Well, I think it sounds good if I can meet you in facebook too. Tell me what useranme you are using in facebook and I can add you as a friend too.I want to tell your Israel frined the same that I am with teh Israelite , God's chosen people. Each time when I heard Israel is under attack, I feel worry about them.I nhope God will protect them more , even we know that the Israel will experience lots of hardship in the future according to the Bible. We still have hope that they will win at least and will call upon Jesus is their messiah when the day of the Lord comes.Well, lets keep on praying for Israel and stand with them together. At the same times, we can get to know more friends from the other country=ies as well. Have a good day.

Hi wildlittlefan! I love making friends around the world. I don't mind of the color and race one has because I believe we are all equal. Sadly, discrimination do exists, and I also really hate being discriminated. People really need to widen their minds and be able to accept anyone from different races, if that happens there won't be hate and the world would be a better place to live. I enjoy the company of my foreign friends because I got to learn more from their culture and their personalities. Each one is unique. I have Korean, Indian, American, Filipino, German, Russian, Indonesian, British and Australian friends. They are really great people. Lets make more friends! Happy mylotting!

I agree with you that there sholudn't be any boundary when we want to make frineds from all over the world and that's why I have just added you as a frined if you would accept my invitation.Yes, you are rightywhen you say discrimination is not a good thing. I have surely experience discrimination befire when I was still living in a foreign country many years ago.Unfortunately, I have found that sometimes we would discriminate people from our own country as well That;s the biggest discrimination that we would experience. Why ? I don't know it is is never agood thing but it just happen that way. I hope we all can live equally and treat others like brothers and sisters someday in the future. I know that we can experience things like that in heaven from the BibLICAL POINT OF VIEW. As long as there are full of differences in attitudes and view point, there wil alwyas be differences on the earth.Well, lets be friends to those who can accept us first, and let theso who reject us to apart from us as long as they will.I mean : just be natural

When I was in college, I was lucky enough my junior year to share my room with a girl that was Dutch. Our cultures aren't terribly different, but they are different none the less. She and I became pretty good friends during the course of that year. In addition to Jacqueline, I also had another friend that year who I was very close to that was from Sweden. I like having friends that are from different places and I wish that I would have been better able to keep in touch with Jacqueline and Jeannette.

Doran, looks like you used to have many frined sfrom Europe. Did you have any friends from Asia or Africa? Although culture can be different but we are all human and it would be great to learn from other cultures and share our s to them as well. Sometimes we will find people from other countries a bit friendly than others. Sometimes we will find that there is actually not differences of colors or races as well, there maight be differences of personality And I hope that we can always be humble and learn from each others.

I have many Turkish friends, those that have been my mentors during my high school days. I have learned a lot from them even outside the classrooms for we have shared many great times together. One of them is really closed to me and is like a brother. He had embraced our culture and has in fact, married a citizen of our country.

I am lucky because I have made some good friends with foreigners. And one of them even stayed at my home when he visited my country. He is also a good friend to my family. The foreigners who can be my friends won't have the discrimination. I think the difference makes us want to learn more from each other. I love China

I live in Denmark and I have a friend from Indonesia. She has been married to a Dane and she has lived in Denmark for many years. When we met she went to an international school where there were lots of other foreigners. I met many of her friends and I got the chance to talk to people from the Philippines, Thailand, Somalia, Brazil etc and I loved talking to her international friends. They often told me about their countries and cultures and it was very interesting. Some years ago I had a boyfriend from South Africa. He had been living in Denmark since he was a teenager and he had many friends from Somalia, Kenya and South Africa and we often spent time with his friends. They told me about their countries and they were always ready to answer my questions about their countries. They also taught me some of their language. When I went to nursing school once of my classmates was from Uganda and we became friends. Unfortuneately I am not in touch with her anymore. When I left nursing school I moved to another part of the country and since that time we haven't had the chance to meet.

Yes, yo have a point, cultures bridge people and if these bridges can be broken down, there's changes of having great friends other than our fellow citizen. I also agree that it is hard to impose our thinking with others as each has its own thinking and beliefs. As long as people are separated by cultures, traditions, religions, men will never be in one thoughts and beliefs which will make this world a hard place to live for.

Yes I have friends from other countries. Most I meet and work at the college I work for. They are from Malawi,Africa,Ghana,Africa,South Norea,China,Japan,Nepal and Moldova. Most have gone home after their schooling and I stay in touch with them through Facebook. I know North and South Korea hate each other! In Ghana and Malawi women have to be submissive. Men make all the decisons and it is ok if a married man cheats on their wives but if a wife does on her husband she is shunned from the village! China is in control of Tibet that isn't right! People from Tibet hate China for that and will until they stop being in control there! China also hates that Tiawian wants to an independent country, not part of them anymore! The US tries to get along with everyone but right now we are still in Irag and Afghanistan fighting wars! We are know involved in bombing Libyia! It never ends! I wish every country in the world would get along with every other contry! It is to much to ask?

i actually dont have any friends in other countries of the world, which i find unfortunate. ive really never been in much contact with anyone that would qualify as a foreigner! BUT i hope that someday soon i will. part of the reason i joined the navy after all is to see parts of the world that i wouldnt have to opportunity to see otherwise, so hopefully at some point that hope will come true!
