It was about 12:15A. and I am watching a movie online with Netflix when I hear sirens. I look out and two cop cars have pulled into the parking lot at Taco Bell. There is a sports car in the Drive thru and cops wondering around it and coming in and out of TB. As I watch seven more cop cars come sweeping into the parking lot. Now the parking lot is full of about seven or eight cop cars. They wrangle one kid and put him in a cop car. All I over hear from my vantage point at my open window across the street is that he remembers having one beer.(I bet every cop has heard that one before)So anyway, police wondering around and for about fourtyfive minutes that sports car is in the drive thru parked all this time at the speaker and finally pulls through. All this for one kid who has had one beer and done who knows what? Any thoughts on police being over worked in this country or anything? I needed a good laugh. Got one.

Doesn't sound like they were overworked at all. Sounds like they all heard the call over the radio and were bored they may as well check it out too.

Poor kid, I know he must have been scared out of whits. Question really is, was it all because of him? It's kind of hard to believe. I remember once I was at a stop light, that guy was just walking minding his own business, he had a bag on him. One cop drove buy ended up stopping/pulling over on the side of the rode, got out and ordered the poor guy to open his bag and ended up taking him in the squad car. Now this happened while waiting on the light to change. I'm not sure what the case was, but thinking about it now, maybe he fit the description of a guy they were looking for just as that kid at Taco Bell? Who knows.

Ya, you never know. He was hiding out cause the cops looked all over the area for him. So whatevery he did it wasn't a surprise that the cops came for him. That TB used to the hangout on the week ends. I called the cops afew times because of fights and loud music. TB wouldn't do anything until the cops were called afew times.

Hmmm. I guess you would have to know the situation completely. If the kid was drunk driving and they were attempting to pull him over and he was refusing and led them on a chase then I would understand all the grief over it. Or if he stole the car and went joy riding. Anything on the news about it? We get things like that here all the time and it's usually a joy ride situation or they really were endangering others on there way to the taco bell. lol

Nope. He was just there hiding at TB. Endangering midnight drivers on their way to TB.

I think that Taco Bell is where most of the excitement happens. A couple of years ago I saw a car try to beat a train across the tracks in front of a taco bell, and almost made it. The train peeled off the cars back bumper and tossed the bumper into the parking lot of the taco bell, while I was eating inside. They only sent 2 cop cars for that one.

Well, I can remember back in the day watching an episode of Cops being shot believe it or not from the Taco Bell in our area, and this was like at 1-2 a.m. in the morning. I can remember the excitement though really wondering what was going on until someone asked and that is when we found out it was for the show Cops. Quite an exciting night to remember though.

Taco Bell has been providing you with round the clock entertainment lately. This scenario let everyone know where it was safe to go for a late night snack. Don't you wish you had a police scanner so that you could have heard why so many police were called out? I guess it is better than having them asleep in some speed trap.

I guess so. I saw the head police car leave early on so I knew it wasn't anything too important.

Hey celtic! Sounds like a "slow night" down your way!
I
have to admit, the cops here sometimes get a bit carried away too
when it seems that they are having a bit of a "slow night". You
can always tell when they drive in with 4 cars or more for a
"small incident"! But, the cops in my area are not very pleasant
on any day, so I wouldn't want to have to deal with them for any
reason!

I think they may have not known how many were involved too. But still. Eight cop cars?

it must have been a slow night. Yes..there is a lot of that around here. One person and 5 police cars show up.
