Personally sometimes when it comes to wanting to own a Dog, life does not always seem fair. Especially when you want to own a smaller dog like us wanting to own another Pomeraniam. For us, we found out once you ever own one you are totally hooked and can never think about wanting to own something else as well.
We owned a Pomeraniam we bought last September for about 4 months until the middle part of December of last yr. before something got a hold of him and killed him. We was only 7 months old, and a wonderful dog to be around. We truly Loved him and he was our pride and joy. His name was Jerky... named after believe it or not my Jerky Business since I bought him one weekend after doing a Pow Wow Event at one with one of the local Indian tribes.
Umfortunately we were never able to find out why it died, but it was a loss. We have been wanting another Pomeraniam ever since. We have been checking online like via Craigslist, etc. and we thought we had one, even made a deposit to hold one, and then the lady changed her mind and is going to give us the deposit back today. I guess for now, it is still not meant to be, and these dogs can be Pricey, so I guess we just keep on looking and eventually something will come along.
Do you agree Dogs are a man's best friend?

We have since found another Pomeranian off of Craigslist and I need to actually start a New discussion and post a picture of him on here for others to see. This one we got from someone else so it is taking a little while for it to completely warm up to me, but it is getting there.

Well, we are still going to be searching as time allows, and make sure when we find something that the dog will be a good fit for us as well. We are both still set on wanting a Pomeranian and know when the timing is right it will happen for us once again.

Well, we have been lucky enough to get another pomeranian, and I need to someday start a discussion about him. But they are good to have around.

I would not buy a dog or anything else from a Craig's List entry. If you want a quality dog, buy a copy of Dog Fancy and research their breeders' listings. I think that there are too many scammers and cheats and cons on the internet and would trust only a proven venue.

Well, there are legit people on Craigslist as well, and it just often depends on what you are really looking for as well. I did see the Dog the one lady was offering for Sale there, and might go check out another one from someone else sometimes this weekend. Personally I know you need to beware but with the person we bought our first Pom from, you can never tell as well, and sometimes it ends up even something beyond the breaders control even.

Unless they won't bite, or attack us. they are the best friend ever though. I like dogs, but they are still animal, and they won't understand our human though. They are more likely to bite and attack, and they make a mess in the house too. So, dog is not for me.

A dog is not for everyone, and yes, they can take a lot of work and harder to train than like cats, but they are quite loveable usually as well. I prefer them over cats as does my husband even though they take a little more work.

Well, we were able to get a Pomeranian again, and I need to share a picture of him and start a New discussion about him as well. We just never felt right about getting a Cat instead.

Yes. I do agree that a dog is a woman or a man's best friend. We sure love our dog. I know that much. We had three Pomeranians but they have all passed away now. Now this time, we got a Yorkshire Terrier and we love his just as much, even more, actually. Sorry you lost your doggie. I hope you get another one.

I agree that dogs are man's best friend, but my cat's are this woman's best friend.
What have you learned from this experience? What will you do differently to keep the next dog safe?

Personally i perfer cats to dogs. I have to work outside the home and cats are more independant all you have to do is provide a litter box. If you are away from home for long hours with a dog they either have to wait for you to return or go on the floor. Ive wondered if a small dog could be trained to use the box. That would be nice. I some times wish for a little dog. I would pick a mini poodle since they dont get fleas and they dont shed. Ive had poms before they bark alot too. Maybe when i retire and stay home i could get a dog. My 3 stooges (cats) will be too old to hurt it then.

Hello my friend KrauseHome Ji,
It is very true that what we want in life, never get it or het it with least percentage. Ity is due to the fact that Input is much lessar than output. Remember, we have to do something to get something. This is natural way. God is there to take care. Thanks.
May God bless You and have a great time.

As much as we would like it to be so life can not always be fair. There will always be good things and bad things in life to endure and experience. there will be ups and downs. there will be joys along with sorrows. if we didn't have some unpleasant times we could never appreciate the ones that mean so much to us. We sometimes might think that life is being unfair to us but we have to keep looking at the bigger picture. @hardworkinggurl (37062)

How about an animal rescue in your area?? I am sure they have several beautiful and healthy dogs, at least you will know exactly what you are getting. The other place that comes to mind is the animal anti-cruelty society.
I hope you get your dog soon.

Before I answered this post, I was answering in another discussion stating that dog's are not man's best friend. For me, dogs are man's best friend because you train them, grow up with them, sometimes scold them for their actions, give treats whenever they are right and other dog stuff. Taking care of them is just like practicing your parenting skills. The more you interact with your dog, the more you would likely to be it's best friend.

As a Zen practitioner, I don't see life as fair to much as for living and doing your best. Most people I have spoken to have said how hard things can be at times, but not many will focus on those bad times, but spend a lot of energy trying to escape from them. In Zen, we say that there is something to learn and life being a roller coaster, it is best to go with the flow. Yes, we had a dog and she got killed one day when we were away, because we thought we had left her with somebody who loved dogs, but let the dog go out alone in a strange neighbourhood. We thought that we were doing bettter for the dog giving it to a home rather than a kennels. It was painful to learn of he dog's accident, but that was just another example of life not being fair..

hi tina oh they are so cute those pomeraniams so I can see why you
fell in love with one. I am so sorry you lost him like that.that must
have been really painful. I know how hard it was years back when we sold our house and had to live in apartments. Since the kind of apts. we could afford did not allow perts either so we had to find a good home for our Heinz 57 mutt. She was one sweet dog too. Here if I wanted to pay one hundred dollars more I could have a small dog but I really cannot afford
that. so that is that. Oh don't buy from Craigs list as you have no idea]
of what sort of care or lineage the dog is. find a reputable breeder for
Pomeranians and buy a pure bred with papers. its the best way to go too.

Personally, I was never into the smaller dogs like that. I like something that you can pet as you walk with it. In the past, I had a beagle and a St. Bernard. I liked the beagle because he was small enough that he could be in an apartment, but big enough that you didn't have to get on your hands and knees to pet him as you walked. I know that purebred dogs can be expensive and finding them isn't always easy. I hope you can find a suitable replacement for your friend soon. Have a great weekend!!!

l love dog very much, when i was about 10 years around my uncle raised about 4 big dogs ,three of them are femal and the left is mal, they get along very well.at that time my wish everyday is after school to play with them. After about one year one of them give birth to 12 little cute dogs on our traditional festval--the spring festival,we are all excited, she became a mother dog she grow up,when i wach my pet give birth i'm deeply touched.now they have more than ten years,we are relunctunt to give the little dog to others beacuse it's cruel to the mother dog,but they are too many ,i have to say i'm sorry but i have gave the dogs to those dog lovers.now my father raised a small size dog and its name is 'doudou',in chinese mean 'making fun',they are very loyal to their master i love dogs they also have deep feeling they are our friends
