They want to do chemo before the operation. I'm weak from the last operation and they want to weaken me further. I always swore that I would never have chemo. But they want to talk me into it. They're supposed to set me up to speak to the Onocologist (I guess he's the guy that does chemo for a living). Alledgedly it will shink tumors. Yeah, they told my Mom that and she died with skin over her skeletin and a tumor the size of a beach ball sticking out of her. They said the chemo usually shrinks tumors of the type I have. And if it doesn't, they've poisoned me for nothing. If it does, since they're taking the bladder out, unless there are tumors on the outside, not sure what they plan on gaining and they'll probably want me to do chemo afterward in case they missed anything. I've been around too many people who have thrown up like crazy after chemo. I have a friend now who throws up one week a month all year and has for 4 years and will for 4 more to live 8 years at which time she's still supposed to die. Still, they want me to go listen to the O Dr. to make his case for it. Seems like once they get you started on that stuff here, they don't want you to stop. They want me to choose between a stoma and cathetorizing myself after they take a piece of colon out to use as a bladder, but the muscle won't be there or opening so I won't be able to void like other people. That's like would you rather shoot yourself in the left or right foot? I have to choose how I will get rid of urine for the rest of my life. He said I didn't have to choose right then. Gee, nice of him. I'm getting so I really hate seeing Drs. On a positive note, they don't want to do radiation. Thank God for small miracles because I won't do that either. That one is definitely a No. They gave my Mother 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree burns. Then they told my husband's Father that they don't burn people any more. More precise. So they precisely gave him 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree burns. On a more positive note. I did today like a spa. A friend of mine had given me all kinds of herbs, so I made a little pouch, put them in, and had an herbal bath. Then I rested. Two long trips, a little more than a weak after surgery, have me really feeling swore. So resting was great! I saw the sunrise. Pink rays this AM.I ate lots of greens to try to flush all the dye they gave me out. Drank lots of liquids, too.

I'm trying, Just wish I knew what to do. Thanks for all the hugs. I'm taking up a collection of them. So how's passover coming along? Found out our area Jewish Temple Beth Israel has been around since 1860s. Has a school, store, and temple. Aother Temple in a nearby city is being donated to the homeless shelter. Jews are in the news up here. Considering 90% Christian area, the fact that they had about girls and boys turning of age in Jewish Tradition and not our Confirmations one day in the paper under the religious section was pretty cool.

Well keep collecting them writer, and I'll keep sending them.. As for Passover, since it started on Monday and with my school and everyone else being busy, we just did the removing of crumbs and are going to have our Seder Sat. I made my famous matzo lasagna last night and it was so good, I can't wait until lunch to eat some more..:D

Matzo lasagna sounds good. When the passover stuff goes on sale, I'll have to get some matzo. I wait until the food is on sale for after the Jewish observances. I get great deals and I don't worry about shorting someone who really is Jewish. Even then, I still like to leave at least one of something behind. The cookies are excellent.

I thought of you today. An episode on The Doctors ( a repeat) talked about a process they are using at the Mayo Clinic. In a situation when the tumors are confined to one organ they can go in and put a laser needle in each tumor and basically fry it. They had a guy on the show that three days previous had this done to several tumors on his liver. He was going to play basketball with his kid. I think you should look at that as well. You and your husband will need to talk this over a lot.

This is a link to the show synopsis. http://www.thedoctorstv.com/main/show_synopsis/689?section=synopsis The type of doctor you would consult with would be an interventional radiologist

The tumors are through the wall of the bladder in many places and may even be outside it and may have even traveled to my bones. They don't know yet.

Hun, we want you to be around as long as possible, so we really want you to do what you need to do to be so. and so what, lots of people have bags, I had a roommate, briefly, in college who had one, so she was like 19, and had one for years at that point. The bag isn't the worst of your problems. We love you, and we want to hear more about you. And if you can't gather like you like, at least we will have you, and your beautiful soul to talk to for that much longer (hopefully years and years)

I want to be around as long as I have quality of life. I don't want quantity if I can't have quality. Thank you for saying you love me. I love you guys, too. Maybe my beautiful soul can come back and use a computer. Now that would be an interesting concept. A ghostwriter who really is a ghost!

Hi writers Aw... too many of these choices they come up with all positive as per them. It is sad. I have witnessed one lady in my real life going with that Chemo with radiation and it can be quite ugly - but I would add that she is now fully recovered (as per the reports) and there is no cancer in her now. She is 64 and a Homeopath doctor doing practice from home. The herbal (or natural remedies) are good as they do not have these ugly leftovers on either the physical you or even on the metabolic you. But finding one with a knowledge on your illness can be daunting... but it seems you have one good freind here who could help. Do you meditate? I have heard that it helps reducing pain. Though I am not quite sure as I tried without a guide and so believe that I could not get the method right... Oh yes, thanks for responding to my PM and I am on the lookout for more. And I did pray and put the diya I mentioned on an earlier response and will continue doing it... for you. Take care

Hi writersedge I am so sorry you are so flooded with so many information. I ask you friend to not see any future treatments in comparison to your mothers. Reason why I am saying is that perhaps your condition is or can be treated differently. I am sorry for not being able to convey much because I am afraid of overstepping and or over suggesting. In plain words I do want to convey that second, third opinions maybe necessary. Please consider GG information above as well as the Cancer Treatment Center. Writer you are a fighter, you need to try and find a strong way to fight this. My friend I don't want you to be negative and or give up. I am holding my strong prayers for you. I am glad you rested, saw the Pink rays and ate well. I am only imagining what is circling over and over in your mind and I do not want to burden in any way I just want you to try and see if anyway possible you can find on how to get the best possible treatment and or care to fight this horrid situation. Thinking about you constantly.

Well all I can say my friend is it sounds like you have a long road ahead of you, and I think the Best thing to do is get a couple of opinions, read up on everything as much as you can and decide for yourself which is best. Also saying Prayers and trusting god for direction knowing there are many others of us Praying for you as well. It is a difficult decision and wishing you the Best from here.

I'm really sorry about how Drs push so many things that you may not be into. I guess it depends how bad your cancer is and what other options you have. If something were to happen to me, I would ask for only the options I was okay with, regardless of 'what else' they wanted me to do. I think many people forget - they are the patient. The choice and decision about anything is up to them. It's not your doctor who gets to choose, it's you. Also, why can't they do bladder reconstruction? I would never allow anything to be removed or wrecked by a doctor unless they were going to reconstruct it for me after... unless it was something like a mole or appendix or something... something I didn't WANT or didn't NEED.

Hello, writer....Looks like you have been started upon the road of oncology. I do not know much about that branch of medicine as my specific area was geriatrics, labor and delivery and general medicine and surgery. You are obviously being bombarded with ideas for various and many many options. Although I can't do anything toward helping you with choices nor help you feel 'unsick' while you are recovering from the surgery, I want you to know that you are being thought of often and mentioned in our prayers as well. I realize that your moral support system is important to you right now so this small portion here is active.

I watch a show on tv that is very informative. A doctor and his wife host it. Their website is: www.bioinnovations.net They are very informed on natural nutrients and ones you need before and after chemo and radiation. Here is a copy of the notes I took and the herbs they advised: CANCER NUTRIENTS:: Flaxseed oil (prostrate) Acai berrie(ah-si-ee) anti-oxidant higher than others Grape seed extract(Resveratrol)very important stuff. Curcumin Noni can get at bioinnovations.net Radiation- *Bata glucans-mushrooms (get the complex- take 2 before and two after chemo) contains and bakers yeast Milk Thristle Acai juice Noni juice CoQ10 They also talk about a book that is very informative and talks about the nutrients people need when they have cancer. You can get it from the site too. It is called: Beating Cancer With Nutrition.
