Here's a photo of another area I did today. In the top of the photo you can see the weed barrier I use this year. So far in this area I have about 40 to 50 white onions planted and carrot seed tape. There's like 270 seeds total I think. It was 3 strips of seeds each 8 1/2 feet long, a total of 25.5 feet. Might have cabbages planted in the end of this bed where the weed barrier is exposed. 4 or 6 cabbage plants would be sufficient I think. Maybe 8.

Wow, GPBob you have been busy and it look like it was all done manually. I wish I had the spunk that you have. I have planted 3 tomato plants and about 4 pepper plants. I planted one yellow tomato plant and I got that idea from you here on mylot, I have about 4 little green tomatoes on the yellow plant and none on the other yet, nothing on the peppers plants either. Good luck with your gardening this year.

Last year I could not find yellow tomatoes anywhere. This year I have the little pear shaped ones and some large yellow ones as well. I also have planted an heirloom variety called Cherokee Purple.

Yup. No machinery used at all.
I loved the yellow Pear Tpmatoes so I am looking for one again this year. TY also.
GG The yellow pear ones are really juicy and different tasting. A tad sweet I feel.

Color me jealous as always. Is there a reason you used the seed tape vs just regular seeds for the carrots? Just wondering as I know it works out better for some plants but I don't know which ones.

Takes too much time and work to sort the plants to thin them when using seeds is all. A lot less work and they look neater when using the tape. LOL.

Thanks. I started 6 discussions all about my garden today.

That´s a nice area you cleaned up, Bob. I cannot get carrot seed tape here. so I have to throw them as speced asI can. But I can thin them out lately an eat them. YUMMY!!!

Check around or ask at nurserys about them.
They're costly but makes it so easy for some plants like carrots and lettuce.

Wow Grandpa Bob you sure have been really busy in the garden. I can't wait to see all the lovely salads you are going to end up with. I so jealous after seeing all the photos. Looking forward to seeing all of it's progress.
I did cabbage one year too, and the darn rabbits munched on all of them. lol

I got the same little critters.
Buster my beagle usually does a good job chasing them off.
But early morning I see them munching ever so often.

I have never planted cabbage. I probably should. I have planted Kohlrabi in the past. It is a funny looking member of the cabbage family.
