Spell check

I had my laptop and on Firefox I had a spell check set to American spellings. It worked really well with My Lot. If a word was spelled incorrectly it gave me a red line underneath it. Last month my laptop broke and this was really sad. So I used my net book for a few days then I went out and bought a new laptop. It is a Toshiba Satelitte with Internet Explorer and Windows 7. I am finding it very challenging to get a spell checker on it. I really miss my old laptop that is broken. I am getting used to my new laptop which is much faster. How do you think I could get a spell checker on my new laptop? Have you ever had a product that you really like brake? If so how easy was it for hyou to get used to the new product?

Hi maximax... I am using windows 7 and access to internet through safari browser who behaves same when a word is misspelled... a red line underneath. I think IE is not to check the spellings ... better you should try with safari. All the best.

Install Firefox again along with the dictionary add-in. It is still better and faster than Internet Explorer. I am using Firefox 4 (but Firefox 3.6 is still available) and the British English dictionary is working just fine.

Thanks. I have just installed Firefox and it works perfectly. When I am typing on My Lot it makes things much easier with a spell check. Fantastic and I am really pleased.

you should be able to download firefox again!! just go to firefox.com and download :) then you will have your spell check and the best web browser on the planet!!! I have never really had anything break on me, I have upgraded though from an old 64 bit desktop to a nice 124 bit laptop... I integrated VERY well, it was hard getting use to the mouse, and trying not to bump the wires but it was worth it, I've had my laptop for over two years now, it makes me a happy kitty!!

I am very happy now that I have downloaded Firefox again and the spell checker works really well. I much prefer Morzilla Firefox than Internet Explorer. I wonder what a 64 bit is and I can see that a 124 bit is far better.

It should still spell check the same. Its just firefox with a inbuilt spell checker. This article might help you get it working again. Just download and reinstall firefox http://www.nirmaltv.com/2008/03/08/how-to-enable-spell-check-in-text-fields-in-firefox/

Thanks, I had a look at that. I recommend Firework because it has a spell checker built into it.

I'd put a few red lines under you discussion! I too use Firefox and it can come in handy when I make the rare misteak. ;)

I am sure that by now you got the information you needed already. I have a toshiba satelitte and still have the spell checker. In the case of mylot, it's not the computer but firefox that has a built in spell checker, but I am sure IE must have it as well. As for you other question yes, I have had quite a few products that I liked a lot and broke. Sometimes I am stubborn and don't quite until I can replace it. Sometimes I just adapt to the new product. In any case I am sure that by now you're back with a spell check :) I like it too, because sometimes my fingers run faster than my brain and I misspell things LOL

In fact you can download Firefox for free and the spelling checking is automatically available in it. If you install this browser in your current laptop, it will work as well as your previous one. I love China

I like to use firefox because of it stability and of course the extra function of plugin, and the most useful is the spell checker that IE does not have. Firefox is also faster in term of loading and accessing website. So, I recommend to use firefox like what others mylotter recommended over here too.
