Ok, so last night we had a horrible thunder storm. I woke up about 2 in the morning to loud thunder and saw lighting. I could never sleep through a storm or anything else. I guess I we be considered a light sleeper. The power went out, heavy rain beating on the window. Again just a really horrible T-storm. Call me crazy, or unless I was just dreaming I felt the earth shake lol, no kidding. But I spoke to my boyfriend this morning and asked him if heard the T-storm last night, and he said he slept right through it. I'm just like how? Anyway, I wish I could sleep though T-storms, just never could? So are you a light sleeper, heavy sleeper? Whats your story?

I am a total heavy sleeper. Each day my husband wakes two hours before me to go to work and I do not hear any of his 5 alarms and I do not feel him getting dressed and going out. All of my roommates state that they wonder how can I not wake when there is some sort of sudden noise around or something else, like falling chairs, turning lights on, etc. Last year there was a huge explosion of military explosives near the city I live in early in the morning, many people kilometers from the place of the explosion were woken in their sleep but I did not understand anything has happened till I went to work and heard my colleagues commenting it. So - a heavy sleeper for sure!

Yes you are definitely a heavy sleeper. I've had a few mylotter comment that they slept through a tornado and hurricane. I thought sleeping though a T-storm was bad enough. Thanks for sharing your story!

I have always been a "heavy" sleeper. Once when I was younger, my small town was struck by a tornado. My mom said the sirens went off, the wind was blowing like crazy and everything. I woke the next morning watching the news and looking out the window confused. I never heard a thing. But 2 years ago I had a son and I was always afraid that I would miss something with him, so I started sleeping lightly. But now that he is a very independent toddler, I am drifting back to being a heavy sleeper.

Sounds like a really scary experience you had. Being a heavy sleeper does have its negative effects. I just could never imagine sleeping through a tornado or hurricane. Another mylotter expressed that he/she slept through a hurricane. This is all really scary. Good luck with everything!

I am not a heavy sleeper either. I wake up when I hear any nose! Like when i hear rain, a thunder storm, dogs barking, sirens and just about anything else! I can't sleep either when the days get longer! I have a hard time sleeping when the sun comes up so early!

I can definitely understand this, as we are alike in this way. I think its pretty much safe to say that I've never slept through an entire T-storm. When I hear any noise out of the ordinary I'm up and looking to see what it is lol. I can fall asleep with the tv on, but it eventually wakes me up. So all in all, I can't sleep without noise eventuallly waking me up. i.e the television, t-storms.

Hmm... sometimes I wake easily, sometimes not. =P I guess it depends on how deep the sleep is at the moment. =P As for thunderstorms or rains, I can sleep through those. In fact, to me it is nice to sleep during those times. Hahaha. Unless of course, the storm is too strong that it's threatening to tear the house down. =P

This is definitely understood, for me I don't think I could actually say that I slept through a T-storm. Everybody is different, I just happen to be a very light sleeper.

lol, this can be a gift and a curse. I could never sleep in loud places or through a thunder storm. We all have different sleep patterns, so I won't question why I'm such a light sleeper and your a heavy sleeper.

I am a very light sleeper. I am in chronic pain and everything will wake me up. It really stinks. Wish I could sleep better. Take care.

For me, I am already sleep and it literally woke me right up from me my sleep. I could never just sleep right through thunder. Only wish I could.

I am weird, I can sleep through allot of stuff but then other things wake me up. I always wake up to my or my boyfriends cell phone. Some times people outside wake me up or other noises in the house if we have people over. But then there are other times when there has been cops in my neighborhood and we hear nothing and sleep right threw it,lol. Good thing there never coming to our house because we probably wouldn't wake up.

I think we all can be selective in this way. For me, I can go to sleep but as soon as I hear a noise I'm pretty much up. For example people outside. Or sleeping with the tv on. It eventually wakes me up.

Heavy sleeper. As long as my bed is not shaken horribly that I have to wake up, I can sleep nicely and have a sound and perfect slumber through anything. Sometime I even have music on when I sleep and it helps me relax myself. bourne

I'm definitely a light sleeper. If I hear anything out of the ordinary I'm up and alert. Now I can sleep with the tv on if I'm really sleepy, but only a few hours later the tv will awake me then I turn it off. So all in all, something always find away to wake me up.

You might not have been dreaming, you may really have thought that the earth shook. Sometimes during really bad thunderstorms the thunder or lightning or something can make the house shake. It happens to our house and we've got a large, sturdy house, so I can't imagine what it's like for the double wide next door! I'd say that I'm mostly a heavy sleeper. Sometimes thunderstorms wake me up at night, but I've slept through a lot of things. I slept through a hurricane once. I was on vacation in a hotel and apparently everyone was bunkered down in the tubs in their rooms except for my who never even woke up. xD And I almost slept through an earthquake once. I would have if I hadn't actually fallen out of bed...and if my father hadn't come to wake me up right after that.

Wow, your sleeping habits can be very dangerous. Sleeping through a hurricane and a earthquake? I'm speechless. Thank goodness your dad was there to wake you. Thanks a bunch for sharing.

Unless i am feeling under the weather, i can usually hear anything. there is not anything that i could sleep through if i can hear it. sometimes i will catch myself lying in wait to hear something that has not been yet.

This is quite serious for you. I think we all can agree we sleep a little heavier when we are sick. I also listen for things out of the ordinary, but who doesn't?

I can usually sleep through anything. Thunder and any noise normally won't wake me up. I have had two exceptions. When my kids were born I heard every noise they made. I figured that's nature's 'mothers instinct' kicking in :) Also when my husband is out of towwn I hear everything. LOL I guess when he is home I just depend on him to take care of everything.

Sound reasonable lol, we are all different. I'm not a parent, but I guess this just means I'm born to be a mother one day. I have great ears and I can hear anything clear across the room lol. Maybe thats why I'm just a light sleeper. I'm a future mother, God's willing. Thanks for sharing!

Perhaps not anything, but I have been able to sleep through quite a lot. Thunder and lightning rarely wake me up, although on the rare occasion of a severe storm they will, but not startlingly. When I was a kid my brother and I shared a room and we had bunk beds, almost every morning I would wake up on the floor. I had the top bunk.

Haha this is too funny. You usually end up on the floor from the top bunk. Too funny, you can definitely sleep through a lot. Me on the other hand, not so much. Thanks for sharing. I had my laugh for the night!

Well, for me a lot of the time, it really depends on the situation. There are a lot of times I have been woken up by storms outside, etc. and then there have been times I have been known to sleep right thru. I think it really depends on how hard it is raining, etc. to be awoke from my sleep. Now when it comes to my husband leaving for work most of the time I know when he is leaving but that is good for me for sure.

Hi. keshia2007r. It was thunder storming just the other morning, which was Wednesday morning. My son said that he was very scared when he heard the storm. He was in his room down the hallway. I know that I woke up to hearing the storming, but I ended up drifting right back off into sleep. So, I am guessing that I am a light and a heavy sleeper both. I am scared of the thunderstorm though. All of this week, it is supposed to thunderstorm anyhow and I know that I will try to be careful about going out as much as possible all of this week. You should be careful too and stay safe!

I can certainly sleep through a lot of things, but I can't say that I sleep through everything. Some things do wake me up, but I usually can easily go back to sleep fairly easily. Very little actually does wake me up.

i like sleeping during storms, lols because i think its cozy and i love the sound of rain, the only thing i hate when i sleep is the noise made by children playing, it immediately wakes me uup.

When it's stormy and raining i could really sleep so well. Even during thunder storm, i really can sleep well. It seems that their sound lulls me to sleep!
