This could be where we're headed.

I received this as a joke-- If you can't afford a doctor, go to an airport- you'll get a free x-ray and breast exam, and; if you mention Al Qaeda, you'll get a free colonoscopy. --But it got me to thinking. This could be the extreme we are up against before too long. Health insurance issues, lack of money, etc. What are your thoughts?

haha that is really funny, I guess that could move the hospital next to the airport, when there is not flight in, you need ask the patients to come in for a scan.

It would cut down on the cost right, they can share among two groups of people.

I remember a movie of Arnold where to go to mars he had to go through a full body x-ray and it showed his skeleton running on a wide screen, may be we are heading for those times now. Only thing if Air-ports could give us the reports too of our health that will save us a lot of money. I can't remember its name though.

Arnold the pig? It would really save alot of money and do double duty on equipment that is so expensive to run.

Except for a very short period, I have always had health insurance, so I tend to take it for granted. But from talking to so many people online the last several years, I find that so many people don't have it. I'm not sure I see it getting better.

I have always been lucky to usually work for companies that did offer medical insurance. There were times I was with out while finding better work. Just the way things work out sometimes. I can certainly sympathize with those who don't have. Now the state has quite paying my medicare so I am saddled with the bill. Better than not having it.

I think we are up against a mess when it comes to the future of health insurance and money. I keep crossing my fingers that things are going to get better, but I'm not so sure that it's coming very soon. There has already been a huge reduction in the healthcare assistance for the elderly, which I thought would never happen. Now it is pretty much matter of time before other healthcare programs are cut. I think there might even be a time when it's not offered to anyone but children. Insurance is so expensive now that people who are working can't even afford it. It is a shame. I was hoping that the healthcare plan Obama was coming up with would help, but there are a lot of downsides to that too.

It does seem like we are on the slow decline doesn't it? And the Obama plan isn't even full effect yet. All a person can do is set and wait and hope that it gets better at some point. I am nearly in the elderly catagory. Makes a person a little nervous. And healthcare is just one of many things.

I cannot afford to get sick. I need to be checked out for diabetes because a lot of my family has become diabetic recently. I need to call the clinic my sister goes through. I should be able to as well because I have my tribal card. I am otherwise incredibly healthy and try to treat any ailments I have with healthy diet. I just want to know.

This has been a problem a long time ago. It may just be hitting some folks but 7 years ago my health ins. was $700 a month just for me. Thank heavens i got old enough to get medicare but the way the goverment has screwed around with it i worry that that may stop before i die. This mess the country is in didn't happen overnight.

No, it sure didn't happen over night. My state recently quit paying for medicare so now my SS dropped nearly $200! Could be worse I guess.

That is funny though. When people thought about something extreme, they will use it adverse as their advantage. Like some people doesn't want to work, and they want free lunch, they usually rather steal something from the convenience store, or gas station, and intentionally get caught, so they will get free lunch and housing.

Good joke, thanks for the laugh. And not a bad idea. The airports should hire doctors or at least medicine students to stand by the x-ray machines. Why not give you a diagnosis if they make you go through all that? (This is personal, those devices buzz whenever I pass, I have no idea why, and I've been strip searched a couple of times, and it's not pleasant at all.) I'm not sure where the health insurance system is headed - it's different from country to country, of course, but I'd say that, on a global level, things are not right. Doctors may end up getting a job at an airport, to mop the floor and empty the garbage cans, and patients may not make it to the airports to travel, because they'll be staying at home ill.
