Do you hate being wakened up when you've only just fallen asleep?

Grumpy. Just woken up? - No...

It's strange. Because if a dream wakes me up, I'm OK with it, I say: "Fair play!" And if I can't get back to sleep, I just get up and go to work on my PC. And if I get wakened after several hours deep sleep, as happened a few days ago...by a motor scooter revving up. Again, I'm pretty OK with it; I may be a little mad, but nothing serious. But if I'm trying to get an early night especially, and I'm woken up by someone else's noise after only just sunk into a lovely deep slumber. I don't know why, but I see pure red, and might even shout out a few choice words. And live to regret it. How about you? Are there times you're Ok with being awakened? Or do you always hate it? Why do you think it's so annoying to be awakened after only having dropped off? Let's talk sleep...and being rudely woken from it.

I hate that more than anything. I have a hard time getting rest and sleep as it is. I hate when something or someone wakes e out of it because I am then up for the day most of the time.

Hi Steph, yes I'm the same, if I'm woken just after dropping off, I am often up for hours after that, and exhausted during the day.

I will definitely get mad if woken up just when I fell asleep. I find it hard to get sleepy again when I wake up so it'll be very difficult for me to get enough sleep if that happens.

It is very stressful to be woke up when you have just dropped off to sleep. It causes a big release of adrenaline and anger can result. The dream waking you up is a part of the sleep process and does not disturb as much. Waking up after several hours of a deep sleep is not as stressful either because you have already gotten some quality sleep.

Hi Love! It is annoying because you are being imposed on. You can't do what you want to do , At the time you want to do it and that is aggravating. With me, I don't get too much sleep. But when I was younger And I woulds stay up all night and then get to sleep around 6am, I would be awakened at 9am by something and I would be furious. Back then I would get up , play my stereo for the hour or two I missed sleeping. The Proper Revenge . But these days if I get just 3 hours of sleep it is ok. In fact 3 hours is considered a good night sleep. 4 is Better , and 5 is my max.Sleeping in means getting 5 hours of sleep, lol!

I hate that as well. Especially if I am sleeping really good and then I hear a loud noise or I just pop up from my dream and I look at the clock on my phone and its like 3 am and I have to be up in 2 hours. it make me so mad cause then I feel like i am falling back to sleep for the first time that night.

Yes, that's how it feels because of the rush of energy; it can take ages to get back off to sleep, if at all.

YES! This actually just happened to me on Friday night (early Saturday morning). I am staying at someone else's house for the weekend since they are out of town. I have not been sleeping well because of things going on in my life. I had just fallen asleep around 1:30 a.m. when the phone rang. I did not answer it but I was so mad! If it's an emergency, I have no problems getting awakened and will get over it, but otherwise just let me sleep. I love my sleep!

I guess nobody wants to be woken up after just fallen a sleep. It happened to me last summer when someone rang the bell about 4.30 in the morning. I can check who is behind my door without opening it and I didn´t recognize the guy and thought he was probably mistaken and ringing on the wrong doorbell.. Not fun, he kept on ringing now and then until I called the police (not the alarm number - after all it was not an emergency) After some time I saw him walk away. Maybe the police had talked to him outside..?? Another summer a couple of guys were ringing my doorbell too, but they went away. Maybe they discovered they were behind the wrong door..?? Nowadays I almost never get mad, just a bit irritable when things like this happen. And if I have been sleeping at least 6 hours, I´m OK, especially if the reason is legitimate. I think that the food supplements I take, probably help me to keep a better balance than before when I was younger. They feed my brain pretty well and help me to fall asleep more easily..

With all these mobiles and integrated IMs its hard not to get disturbed every now and then. I am a man of light sleep (I hope that's the term used for those who can be woken easily at any time, if not, please correct me), so though it is not a problem but if you are waking me for some purpose, good luck then as I take my time to get active if I have been awoken mid sleep.

I hate being woken up in any circumstances! I prefer to awake naturally. When disturbed, I am in a bad mood all day, so much so that even I wish that I would just go to sleep again. I don't sleep at regular times or for set lengths, so my sleep is just too important to be messed around with.

This is probably one of the most annoying things in life. Being waken up by some noise or someone just when you are about to fall asleep always make me angry. In particular those people who make loud noises at night distrubing their neighbours. Also, those loud noisy motorcycle and cars at night time. They don't have any respect for others and I think such acts should be punished by law.

Well for me, I really hate when someone disturb me just when I'm about to fall asleep, cause it gives me a headache whenever I'm experiencing that. But of course it's okay to wake me up when i got enough sleep like 5-7 hours.
