Cramming qustion answer is basically women thing...

Cramming ability of women is something that helps them faring well in the exams and other competitive tests as well. I do not mean, however ,that boys can not do or do not do but the ability of an average girl is much higher than that of an average boy. This is why perhaps girls do much better in the arts and humanity section than in Science subjects.
Does this than mean that the softness of a rose and love story is more akin to girls than boys. Boys do not put much emphasis on cramming things for the exams. They tend to reproduce the answer from what they understood. This is why girls are well ahead in writing broad answers or essays than boys do. Might be the one produced by the boys is their own and due to this in the upper class examination where one is to write several pages of answer boys convince the examiner that the answer is his own and there is originality.
But since most girls depend on getting things by heart it might be possible that sometime they do not get the questions expected for their prepared answer and there they get leg behind.

That was in response to the title...now I will go and read the discussion and come up with some more ammo..
I think much has to do with the kind of environment the person is from, kind of genes, and the kind of educational institution, and the kind of friends.
And please ignore the next box..

How come the theory of gene and other biological inheritance came here? I was just focusing on the extra ability of the girls when when they prepare for examination. When a boy tries to give an answer from his own comprehension most girls prefer to commit to memory the answer they are to write and here the intellectual level can can not be equated.
Power of cramming is helpful in different situation but if students only depend on this their individuality or free flow of writings get a halt.

May be it would be a part of gene. Anyhow these gender wise differentiation there are lot more if we dig up. May be majority goes like that and also their are qualities that lack in both sides. I feel there is lot to compare in both genders. But admitted these facts by own genders demerits are mostly found difficult. I feel it is difficult to accept some real facts especially if that fact is unpleasant one. Here I do accept the fact you had focused on, not because I am male but it is a true fact.

Yes my friend, there must be something there when the ability to commit to memory is concerned by men and women. I do not say men or boys can not mug up question answers for examination purpose. They are there. But the integrity is more in women than men.
When I was in 10th standard in my school I was top, I mean I was the first boy. During school function days when I participated in 'listen, remember and write' event both fist and second prize would go to the girls. lol

Taking faster decision by men I guess is a mere asocial practice. In the patriarchal society most of the decisions are made and finalized by men and the women counterpart is just taken for granted.

Women develope quicker than men do. I am sure this means they also find ways to learn easier. And just as men see things more visually women tend to take it in differently and can probably retain more because of this. Women read and take in a broader spectrum where men think they know the areas and only study those.

Hi celtic,
Psychologically girls are four years ahead of boys and naturally they develop the mugging up lesson quite easily.
However there are women or girls who are not up to the mark. But seen the whole phenomenon girls dominate boys/men so far in their ability of memorializing.

I read once that women have the natural ability to communicate. It is a needed instinct because for a while they are the primary teachers to their children. There were some studies done that women are therefore better in subjects like English and Literature. They often learn languages very fast too. The studies showed that men were better in mathematics and geography. Something about the need to build and hunt. Apparently they were basing their results on primal instincts.
I know that I do pretty well in my studies. I work very hard and take it very seriously. I like to be creative with the papers I write, but sometimes instructors don't really want that. I have to figure out what the instructor is looking for with each class.

I agree to you on the point that women naturally turns out to be a crammers. What I have been objecting is that if students are push forward for crammed answer writing their own individual ability would get strangled.
Today the toppers in school leaving certificate will gt lost and no one would remember him because in the following examinations he/she could not do well.
Yes I was to talk about creativity and quality. Unless one develops creativity and the power to face the situation he would not succeed in life. Till my seventh standard I was scared of school. But one particular teacher did all changes in me and'
I agree that girls learn other tongues much faster than boys do.

From the little knoweldge that I have, the women folk have a better perception and also a better 6th sense (apart from all other + points that many men lack). They are more consistant, focussed and that does give them some advantage when it comes to studies and even work.
For the success or failures in exams, I think, it is more luck involved than the being prepared for all questions as I too always did a selective study (a few days before the exams 
) I was always the guy who never attended classes at college. And I forgot - I was an Arts(Humanities) Graduate with Political Science as my main.

I admit that women or girls when they are in schools or colleges or university, if not distracted bu other things and serious in her study, there is no doubt that she would not do well. But if you notice clearly they have extra power for cramming.
Just to say, even if she did not understand the topic she would mug it up and would puke through on the answer sheet and get 100%.
But Boys can not memorize so much of things as I know.

I always failed to memorize things and this is one reason I always faltered when it came to remembering those formulae for Maths or even Chemistry or Physics. Even Economics was boring because of this.
So I took up the Political Studies as that didnt need me much to memorize but to understand.

Believe me. I did not know until I was in my eighth standard. I tried to understand and if failed to make up, where would ask my teacher to clear the doubt and make notes of them.
Like you I too was weak in Mathematics. It was the horrible subject for me. And the worst thing is that I could not cram answer without understanding them.
Woman like to have everything in order, not to leave a space or a time blank for it can be worth more than people know...

Hi,
In my post actually I was highlighting on the girls/women's capability to cram question answers and reproduce them as they are. They are thus free of thinking the question and concerned about the marks. Since girls have upper hand on boys in this particular field they comparatively do not do well in the examination.

It is an interesting concept and maybe one that is hard to define. After all the human brain is a pretty miraculous thing and the fact that they work differently on men and women is pretty amazing really!
