I am new to Mylot

I joined about a week ago and find this site very interesting. It is a great way to get advice and also maybe help others with our own advising. I started a discussion yesterday and as I read comments left I rate them...when I go back to the page later on all the comments are showing they have not been rated. Any one know why this is?

Yes as mike says above you will be able to rate when your participation points reach 100.
It is a good idea to visit this link as it will be very important to learn and understand the proper way to use it. Abusing it will affect yours as well.

I recall us meeting when you were already well and underway, therefore, I do not recall seeing a discussion from you needing to learn, as it appeared you were doing fine.
I do try and follow pages like this because it has helped me pay it forward for others to learn.

Not being able to give out ratings until you reach 100 is new HWG.
It started after much abuse by trolls starting new accounts, and rating without posting, around 2 years ago [sighs] and at the beginning of 2010, with the upgrade, myLot made it impossible to rate before reaching 100.
It is not stated in the FAQs (and I can't find the pertinent comment in a discussion by GAA yet

one can only rate someone here when they reach above 100 post and have a star which when you reach 100 you would have automatically 
as you are still at 25 you can't rate any one for now this info is missing at faq but yeah its there so you can't rate any one for now

The rating others give for our discussions will not be visible to the members.
Many doubts that a new comer gets -- answers are there in FAQ. I am giving the link:

When users are new it is nice to welcome them and if we must reprimand them, then at least point them to the Guidelines and tell them why you think that their topic will be removed

I think people did not get you as you have not used proper words i suppose.
I think after rating all the comments if you go back by the icons used then it means you undo your work. If you want to check reopen this discussion don't go back.

If new users did things in the proper order there would not be much that ever needed clearing up.
When they join they receive an email which tells them what to do BEFORE they start posting. Maybe 1 a month takes note and does it

hi good for you but you have to reach 100 after your name then y our ratings will count so keep on working and soon you will be at 100 also
then do keep on rating as lately it seems like a lot of new and old users forget to rate us and its important to do so as it will keep us all moving up in our reputations. welcome to mylot .you will find your number after your name will go up pretty fast once you get used to mylotting and spend a little extra time here. enjoy and do not worry about how many posts you make.i am glad to see you did not freeze as some newcomers do and be so afraid of m aking a discussion. You even have me listening. I learn something new from you youngsters all the time. In the dark ages when I joined MyLot you did not have to have a certain amount to do anything. I am really old in MyLot years.
