Yes, we went up to the resort town of Mccall and spent four glorious days up in the mountains. McCall has a lake right in the middle of town. The lovely Payette Lake. It wasn't real warm but my grandson enjoyed playing on the beach with his toys. Food was wonderful. We ate fish every night but the last. Rainbow trout, cod, halibut stuffed or lightly battered and delicious. Desserts? Oh, my! Chocolate Mouse, Cheesecake, Creme Bulee, Kuluha cake, and bread pudding with a special sauce. Breakfasts at the Pancake House. Huge and delicious! A nice drive around the lake and many, many pictures. My grandson acted better those few days than he has in months. What is up with that? Mountain air? So I guess I need a question here, huh? Do you hate to leave at the end of the vacationing time? Or, are you glad it is over and ready to get back home?

Sounds like you had a great time. I am happy to hear it...you deserve it.
As for me..there have been times when I wasn't ready to come home. I like being home for the most part but I have been to some places that would make me think I just wanted to pack up and move there..lol.
I do dread going back to work after a decent vacation though..lol...I'm spoiled rotten.

When I vacationed in British Columbia, Canada with my ex it was that way. I would have loved to have moved to Victoria. Such a nice little touristy town. But home is home and I just don't think I would ever be able to live anywhere else for long. Spoiled rotten is nice.

I have been on several package holidays but at the tail end I long to get back home. This feeling of getting back was the greatest when I had covered a good bit of the USA and spent time with relatives after the tour. But being on holiday is a unique experience visiting new places, tasting new food, experiencing things that one does not get to see back home. These are memories that I can live on when I idle around.

It does sound wonderful, and like a much needed break. Your grandson probably was more active outside than usual, and getting extra sunshine is good as well. He also probably had much less access to electronic gadgets. I think everyone enjoys a change of pace.

Hello. A good time we did have. Lovely drive up and down. GOod food and good company. Can't ask for more. Home is fine but it had been years since we had alittle different scenery.

I love the location but to stay we would have had to continue to pay for dinners and a room so it was time.
