So, I know at least one friend who is always bragging about her daughter's GREAT decorated cakes - and well she might!
However, SF nerd that I am, I think these cakes are REALLY awesome!
Makes me sad to think I have so much trouble with actually EATING cakes!

I love the TARDIS one, BTW - which one is YOUR favorite?

Hi Elic - those were AWESOME! I love to cook but cake baking is not my forte. Besides, with only me here, I eat the lot and I need to avoid such irresponsible behaviour.
I was knocked over by the AT.AT until I saw the "Eye of Sauron". That was so well done, the way the icing colours blended so cleverly - so that is my overall first choice.

Green Lantern's kinda cute...
My erstwhile husband's 29th birthday fell on a regular pub night for our group of friends, so I asked one of the other women if she'd arrange for a cake. She got an ET cake for him.

I would have any of them. If someone put that much though and love into a cake for you, how could you not love it, but I hear ya with all the sugar
I am sure your WHO cakes are excellent. You are are fan so you know your stuff
I think I had only one shaped cake that I can think of when I was very young and it was a red Mini Cooper. My dad used to deal in Mini's at the time and I remember it was a great Birthday and I have fond memories of that cake

Whenever I see a cake that is so beautifully decorated and all the work that goes into it it almost seems a crime to eat it. The Star Wars Imperial At-At and the Super Mario brothers chess board are extremely detailed and the Wolverine cake really seems like it was made for Halloween. All the cakes are beautiful and the Tardis cake since it is open seems to show a delicious chocolate cake. I have to admit that I have to decorate cakes for parties and things my cakes always end up with the simple decorations of sprinkles/coconut or cream, which anyone can do as the few times I have tried to do something more elaborate, it did not go well, so I have the greatest admiration for someone who can.

Oh my, those were absolutely fantastic! Wow, I can't bake at all, and if I did bake a cake, even a box one, you'd probably laugh your head off. For some reason, they just don't come out like they're suppose too, haha!
I really like them all, but the Star Wars, I think it was the Imperial At-At?, was just amazing to me. I could never get nothing like that to stand up, it would fall flat on it's face, lol! I love stuff like this. Glad I was able to see them with this old computer.

Did you look further? There are these beeeezzaaaarrrre tourist spots!
I liked the TARDIS cake, too--but I wish I'd seen it & the Enterprise cake before they were half/mostly eaten!
Thanks for the giggles!

The Super Mario one was my favorite, until I saw the Green Lantern one. No I am not sure which is my favorite. They are so nice to look at, it would be a shame to eat them! What a lot of work and creativity that must have gone into them.

Oh man, those cakes are amazing. I wish we got stuff like that here.
My dream birthday cake would have to be a mint chocolate chip ice cream cake made too look like the atom bomb explosions. Oh and it would need to have some corny physics joke on it as well :D

That first one is pretty amazing, only a KID could've come up with THAT idea! and having someone actually MAKE it! WOW!
Yeah, I love pies too, but now the only time I get one is if I make it! Used to be that mom would make them, but... the roomie's mom makes me the filling of pumpkin sans crust, and I generally don't eat most pie crusts anyway, I like the fillings better - but... now, if I make it, I eat it!

Those cakes are awesome! It takes time to plan, make, bake and decorate most of those cakes! Making cakes like this,or wedding cakes,is art! Those are not nerd cakes! My favorite is the Star Wars Imperial AT At!

The cakes are totally awesome, I love so many of them. I love the Super Mario one as it actually looked like a colorful checker board.
Gosh they must take forever to create as there is so much detail to each and everyone. I don't think any of mine can actually come as as lovely as these. Though I would be daring to try but sadly do not think I can accomplish it.
Therefore, that means I would have to eat hundreds to see if one comes out near presentable. lol

I can see Janey's daughter doing some of these, but I couldn't. of course, I couldn't eat ANY of them!
I think the trick is to make the figure decorations and freeze them so you aren't trying to make them and still have a fresh cake after you are done!
