Do You Suffer From Allergic Reactions?

I think I found out a lot of the reason that I have not been feeling the Best for the last couple of days. Something told me since this has lasted since Thursday to do some research on the New medications I just started taking and see if any of them fit the Tired no energy mood and feelings, and found out something interesting for sure. Somehow on my chart it does not ever say I am allergic to Sulfa drugs, and by doing some research found out the New Blood Pressure medication is in that same class, and probably part of the reason I am feeling so bad. All I have been wanting to do a lot of the time since Thursday when I started taking the Medication is sleep. I have no energy, have a little bit of a headache and not feeling up to wanting to do anything. This is about the 5th Blood Pressure medication in like 3 yrs. that they have tried that ends up not working for me from the very beginning. They have tried Antibiotics that have Sulfa in them and they give me bad reactions as well. Am I the only one who seems to be so sensitive to everything, or are there many of you here who are the same way? It can be quite frustrating for sure. ~~TINA~~

I suffer from seasonal allergies. I only suffer during the summer in the pollen season, which can begin in around May and then carry on until the September. My younger brother has a peanut allergy, and this makes his life a little bit more difficult than normal because he literally cannot even eat anything that has touched a peanut, so we have to read the ingredients on everything that we buy in the supermarket. A lot of try to get away with it by saying "may contain traces" on their packaging, which is annoying as they just say it so that they cannot be sued if somebody suffers a reaction; there might not be any nuts in that particular product at all.

Hi! I am also allergic to medicines but those with Ibuprofen. These are usually found in pain killers. I already am allergy to seafoods, dust, and other things and one day, when I had a terrible muscle ache, I took this medicine called Alaxan and instantly found out that I am allergic to it. My eyes swelled and I started sneezing and I couldn't breath comfortably. So whenever I go to the doctor, I immediately tell them that I have this allergy to Ibuprofen so they wouldn't be prescribing pain killers with it. It is really frustrating to have allergies and with medicines for that matter since you can't just buy pain killers over the counter, you have to consult first with a doctor so you will be safe on what to buy.

I don't suffer from the usual allergies like pollen dust, cats or dogs etc. What I get is food sensitivities. Foods that contain sugar can make me feel quite ill. I am not diabetic, but cannot really tolerate sugar. Other foods like pototoes and tomatoes also make me feel ill, but not quite so bad as sugar, so I need to avoid those foods. Eggs also give me a problem too, so whilst it is difficult at times, I do my best to avoid these foods. _Derek

No sweetie, you're not alone. My body is very sensitive to medications and I tell my doctor about it all the time when he's about to write up another prescription because I don't want the strength to be too high for me. It's frustrating to me too but I know I'm not alone. I'm alergic to anything with Sulfa too. I get a really really bad reaction to it. There's another one that I'm alergic to too but can't remember the name of it but it made my head itch like mad and made my face turn all red. The nurse said it was called red face syndrom. What ever the antibiotic was, it did just that to me, made my face blood red!

Actually, the carboplatin is the first thing I ever had an allergic reaction to. I hope that you are able to find a medication that doesn't affect you like that. It's too bad that doctors don't look for natural cures more of the time instead of always supporting the pharmaceutical industry! People seem to have less allergic reactions to natural substances than to synthetics. I hope things start going better for you soon! Have a great week!!!

I'm pretty fortunate about not being allergic to medicine but the bad side is that I can't swallow pills and most prescriptions are pills so I hope I never have to take medicine that I would need to live because I guess it would be my time to go if it didn't come in a liquid.

I am allergic to pinicillin. And your blood pressure meds are of the same sulfa family? How weird. I have other seasonal allergies that i have alot of fun with. NOT! I am sensitive to other anti biotics but I with stand it for the affect. I just finished taking a string for 10 days and after two days the virus was back. So why take all the biotics for nothing?!

I take no medication and very few herbal things due to side affects. I never met a side affect I didn't get. For this very reason I hit the Internet before I take any new medication.

I'm not like super sensitive to most things, but things that make you sleepy will knock me out for days. I take half doses of most medicines and when I used to have high blood pressure it took them a long time to find things that worked that didn't have other adverse affects! But - at least you have narrowed it down and that gives you a place to start! Hope you feel better soon.

As for me I know I got skin allergies. Whenever I get to clean my room full of dust, I always transform into a monster. Rashes all over my body occurs making me look like a crocodile of sorts. Also, I easily get the allergies when I'm in the city which is so polluted. However, my allergies just last only for a short period of time. Just be careful of taking too many kinds of medicine, especially antibiotics. Those antibiotics may worsen your allergies if they become ineffective or even worse, out of control.
