Hello! I am getting ready to go with my son and husband tomorrow to Birmingham, AL. I wish our daughter could go but she has things here at home she has to take care of so she won't be able to. My idea of the perfect vacation is being able to relax and do whatever I want to do, whether it be read a book, watch television or just take a nap. I'm not much of a shopper, I just go get groceries each week and if there is something I really need I'll go shopping. I guess I'm weird LOL! I would like to hear your ideas of the perfect vacation. :)

Hi there! We went to Hawaii several years ago when my husband had a convention there. It was wonderful! We didn't go snorkeling, I don't know how to swim LOL!, but the food was great and the scenery was beautiful! Pictures don't do it justice. It has been a long time since I was on here. I just wasn't finding too many discussions to respond to, but there are more on here now. It is great to hear from you! :)

You could always take a glass bottom boat. Good to hear from you too.

I forgot to add food. I like to be able to eat whatever I want to. Seafood is great, southern food is great, let's just face it, all kinds of food are great if I am not cooking it.

hi! you were asking for perfect vacation , for me the perfect vacation was in a island, a quiet island with your loved ones, a place you can relax, no can sleep all day,you can smell the fresh air and heard the sound of waves, near to the beach. No more worries, all you can do was to enjoy with your loved ones. And when you wake-up in the morning you can eat your favorite foods, fresh fruits, fishes, crabs....wow it was really nice....

Hawaii would be perfect for me... not the hotels and stuff.. but the real island where the real people live.. I would like to experience that.

My idea of the perfect vacation is a really nice hotel with cable and room service. The room service would have to have a fruit plate on its menu. I would bring many books with me, and read whenever I wanted. Then I'd go outside the hotel to the quaint litte shops that would surround it (naturally I'd pick a hotel with cute shops around it) and find cool little things to take home to people. But seriously, get me a hotel room with a good mattress, fluffy pillow, cable, and a fridge where I can bring my own fruit, and I'm good to go.

The perfect vacation would have to be near the ocean. I would love to go to the Caribbean. I would love the peace and quiet and only hearing the ocean waves roll in and out. I would also like to have some cold refreshments with my husband.

I have had a ton of them! Yup...usually I am traveling to see one of my daughters...so that makes it perfect in itself! Usually there is visiting....a bit of shopping...relaxing...and a smig of sightseeing. Hugging the grandkids is the topper for my vacation!

My perfect vacation is on a cruise somewhere. It's perfect because there's so many different things to do, you see cool places, you don't have to clean, and you don't have to cook anything. It's nice to be able to just sit back, relax, and have people do stuff for you while you're on vacation

A cruise is something I would love to do some time also. You are right, no cooking and having people wait on you, that would be a wonderful vacation also! :)

My perfect vacation would not have to include these three: Money worry, Safety worry and weather worry. I remember a funny moment with my mom years ago when we had a weekend get away at a resort here in the Philippines. She fell in love with the place and decided to get a room so that we could enjoy the beach and being pampered by spas and everything. We were so ready in going to the beach when it rained. LOL. It rained for the whole weekend. The only time we get to enjoy ourselves was when had the pool by ourselves that night, after the rain. Oh well.

Yes, a perfect vacation should make us totally sleep and not worry about anything. There's money to spend, there are no bills left unpaid back in the house, there are no dogs to worry about, no work left unfinished. That would be a perfect vacation which, to me, seems impossible to have.

My idea of a perfect vacation is any vacation that takes me into the mountains of New Mexico or Colorado! I usually go to the mountains of New Mexico as they are closer to me here in Texas. One of my very favorite location to go is Red River New Mexico. A place where you sit and watch the stream behind the condo go by. Wonderful views and just a sense of having not a care in the world! I love it! Makes it even better the more family I have with me! I hope you have a wonderful time on your vacation tomorrow...

After my trip last week, any where that doesnt have 300 days of rain and does not include my inlaws. We were on the coast of Maine and it rained 5 of the 7 days we were there. Since my in laws all live far away and we only see them a few times a year, my husband feels that we have to do EVERYTHING together. There is only so much shopping I can handle and so many clam shacks i can handle before I lose my cool. When I tried to opt out of an ice cream excursion, I was guilted into going from my husband...."we only see them twice a year, we need to spend time with them."

Right now my dream vacation is go to see my family in Puerto Rico. Four year have passed since I left. I really miss my parents and my sisters. I also miss my friends. And of course my beautiful island. The beaches, the food, oh my God! I can't wait to go back. Hopefully we can go soon. I hope you enjoy your vacation. Have a good time with your family, relax and enjoy the most you can.

I'm not sure I know what a perfect vacation is. I went on a few and they were nice to a point, but very tiring to come back from. Traveling by car over 700 miles or over 1000 miles is really hard. If I could fly and do whatever I wanted .. then it would be perfect.

I think most vacations should end with a family member if possible. In addition, I would like to see new things, zoos and gardens mostly. Not into much shopping myself.
