People who expect to much from themselves are more likely to feel depressed with even high marks in school and a decent paying job. They always feel they have to at the top of society when in reality people that are very wealthy are not necessary happier then people in lower income levels. In fact some people in lower income levels are more happier as they work hard for their money and it is well deserved and get a sense of satisfaction doing their part for society.I feel that people like the Walmart family to be really non caring for the good of humanity as they possess billions of dollars and the amount they donate is really sad.Literally they only donate a few thousand here and their where they could afford to give away millions for the greater good.If i were them i would give away at least half to Walmart employees and charities as that amount of money truly corrupts people.

I don't expect much of myself. I just expect to pass the exam. It's hard to be disappointed when you expect too much and you don't achieve it. It's better to expect less and be overjoyed when what you achieved is more than what you expected.

In the classes I am doing now, there are only papers and discussions...no exams. I often think my papers and discussions are not very good, but the teacher always gives me high grades. I don't know whether that means I have higher expectations than the teacher has or what, but I tend to be harder on myself than the teacher is. I'd hate to go back to being an undergraduate where there are tests in addition to the papers and discussions. On a paper, I can always find resources to back up my opinions, but on a test you either know it or you don't. I was looking at the work that my niece has to do in her 100 level biology course and it seems like a lot more work than I have to do. Have a great day!!!

I always tried to do my best and that was my goal-to do my best. I don't think I set high enough expectaions for myself. I would get a B and could have made an A. If I get something lower I would really be upset with myself. I would be heart sick that I had let myself down this way. What could have gone wrong?

I am the sort of person who tries to aim high, not low. I remember when I studied for my Midterm and Final exams, I had studied a lot! I also remember being really stressed out because I wanted to perform really well on the tests. The usually thing that happens for me, when I expect too much of myself, is that I end up being dissappointed or frustrated because I underperformed or felt that I didn't deserve the grade I was given.

Ho Aryna! That is what I thought when I was in high school. I need to get a good grades and should pass with flying colors plus don't get defeated by other students. But then when I was n college I found that is not important at all. It is because the most important thing we should expect from ourselves is whether we understand the subject very well or not. If you do understand that subject very much then there is no problem for you to score the paper. Plus the advantage is with better understanding the things you studied will last longer in your head. So that is mean you don't have to expect anything. If you still want to expect then at least you know that you can score the exam since you know the subject very well.(^^)

It depends on the outcome, If I expect too much and I failed, it makes me stumped for a short while and think on things which made me messed up. If I pass through the expectation, I will be happy of course and I would consider my passing as another achievement in my goal and dreams. I think I vary my expectation depending on the circumstances. If I do something that I excel in, my expectation will be high. If I don't excel on a particular field, I lower my expectation since I know that field is one of my weakness. nevertheless, I always try my best in achieving my personal goals and the goals of that particualr field. I like to excel in everything that I do

I am not a student at the moment. But during my student days, I think I was a workaholic and I could remember very vividly how I use to burn the midnight candle. I read night and day just to come out with flying colour. At some time, I had a very good result but there are times I still fall within average.

when you are a student you will really pass a stage that you sometimes fail an examination. Don't feel bad about it because you really cannot get everything that you wanted eventhough you studied very hard for your examinations. Just make sure that before the school year ends, you will be able to pass all your subjects. Good luck to all the students1

When we give exams, we should probably set some expectation on our results, This stage should be done at the during the beginning of our studies. What happens is when we set a particular target we tend to achieve the target through our studies, We study accordingly to reach our goals. So setting a particular expectations from ourself is very much important in studies. In other phases, you can also improve your personality by knowing the things that you have done and upgrading your self that is know as self expectation. For example say you are working on your communication skills after practicing you except from your self to be better communicator. So concluding on the topic we should have some expectations which will surely benefit us.

it depends.if we work good and are good at every subject then there is no problem with having a high expectation as we already are sure about it.However if we do not know the other persons capacity or grip on the subject we can not say or have expectation of a high. I think it depends on oneself and no one else would know about us and our achievement , what are our capabilities and strenghts to get a high rank.

I must admit that I have a habit of competing against myself, but not in education. In college, I just tried to take either easy classes or courses I am passionate about. I do have expectations of myself, but I make sure to not let it overwhelm me. But yes, when I did not get the result I wanted I basically aimed to do well in the next exam.

hello, I trust my self sometimes when it comes to my exam because I should concentrate and trust myself for the best result but sometimes review days are not enough so I end up disappointed. I accept it and I will just do my best next time but when it comes to emotions it really hurts because you review but still you failed. So, unfair right? I learned that To achieve your goals you must give your best and do your work early.
