The Toilet Paper Debate : I waste toilet paper

It was my grandmother I'm pretty sure, that got me into doing it in the first place. When I was little she always tore off a lot of toilet paper to hand me, not just three sheets, no more then that. Now I find myself doing the same, I make the thing spin! I'll often tear the two ply apart, why? I don't know I guess I think it's fun. Mind you I use both ply, but I will do this, I'll start tearing it while it's on the roll and then keep doing it until I have enough sheets.
Now don't think I can't use few sheets, I can do that. However, when I can get away with it (I.E. : I'm not buying the toilet paper) I often tear off more then I need to. I used to tear off three or four, or six to eight pieces, enough for both jobs.
However, now it's tear maybe ten to twelve off, I don't need that much!
So do you waste toilet paper?
Do you encourage your children to NOT waste toilet paper?
I was never scolded as a child to not waste it....

I usually use cloth to clean up spills and stuff. I seldom use toilet paper to save trees for the environment.

Oh, I only do it whenever I'm in public but when I'm at home I just straight up wash my butt.

Not sure why boys don't want to use toilet paper... one thing I'm constantly scolding is my nephew to put the toilet seat back down... I'm like the only one that uses the toilet in this room, and he's always leaving it up... I make his butt get up and go put it down.

I try not to waste anything, especially toilet paper. I do not want to waste it or have to go buy more all of the time either. We do go through alot of toilet paper though. I do use enough to make sure to get myself clean.

I definately use more when going number 2 than #1. I certainly don't want to take a chance of getting either on my hands/fingers so I probably do use more than I need. But I don't count sheets so I'm really not sure how much I use. I'm often lazy and won't change the roll when it's empty. Instead I just sit it on the counter above the holder. lol

I think six is a good number myself. Toilet paper wasters should be chastised by the toilet demon I am thinking! I don't play with it. I find having enough very important. Like a must have situation. My daughter uses it to wrap the things from her time of the month and I get aggravated with it. My grandmother used to used old sheets and stuff for mine and recleaned them. Yes! THose were the days!

Hey! I think this discussion came out about the same time as my TP discussion!
This reminds me of the time when I caught my son and his cousin playing with the TP in the toilet. They had the end on the water, and they were letting it roll as they flushed it! They were laughing as they see it go down. Right until I caught them.

i always prefer the brand i like, if the the price difference is only minimal, i choose quality.
